Same is true of “consultants.” City council wants a bike lane, citizens don’t. So theyhire a consultant, at citizens’ cost, to “prove” a) that the citizens want it and b) that it will be “good for the community.”
As a cyclist, I fear bike lanes. Great way to get "doored" as they are always next to parking lanes. I am happy with mirrors on my bikes and looking before making turns further into traffic lanes or closer to the curb.
What I like about where we live now. No big hills, flat roads. I can go the whole 7.5 miles to town parallel to the highway and only have to cross it once in town to get to the grocery store.
Oh, and I just picked up a new project bike to restore this winter. A 1980s roadbike, a Miyata Six Ten. It was at the dump. Needs a new chain, new tires, and tubes, wheels and spokes are true, I will put on a better seat, and I will replace all the cables. Washed up well and the paint is pretty good.
I still have my 1973 Hordsworth Record, and I have a 3 year old E-bike - Mountain bike with 21 gear cassettes. Battery range about 30 miles on peddle assist level 1.

Chewing gum is bad, because it contributes to digestive problems. When one chews, the stomach propagates stomach acid, in expectation of food arriving.. It is a waste of stomach acids; eventually, when there is food..there will not be sufficient stomach acids to digest it.

This figure was proudly used by the climate alarmists, including Obama.
Here is an excerpt from an article that consolidates the entire GW scare into a short read... " You have likely heard that there is a 97% consensus on the subject. This is simply not true for multiple and easy to understand reasons. The 97% figure is based on significantly flawed studies. For the sake of brevity I will list just one of these for now. Curiously other 97% studies came up with almost the same percentage through different, yet equally and similarly flawed methodology. What is the origin of the false belief, constantly repeated, that almost all scientists agree about global warming?
The “97 percent” figure in the Zimmerman/Doran survey was the most cited study (referenced by Barack Obama) with this number, and represents the views of only 79 respondents who listed climate science as an area of expertise, who also stated they had published more than half of their recent peer-reviewed papers on climate change. Seventy-nine scientists of the 3,146 scientists who responded to the survey (why distribute to them if they would be disqualified from answering) distributed to 10,000 scientists, ( most of whom ignored the survey) does not a consensus make!
Those 79 scientists ONLY stipulated that in their view humans were responsible for more than 50 percent of the warming since about 1950. (Prior to 1950 scientists state that there was not adequate CO2 emissions to affect global average temperature.) The responding scientists offered ZERO opinion on any catastrophic effects of said warming, or on how much actual warming had occurred, and zero opinion on the benefits of CO2. And they offered no opinion on the amount of warming future emissions would cause. Most skeptics would answer in the affirmative to their survey questions, the primary assertion being that at least 50 percent of observed warming since 1950 was caused by human GHG emissions.
It is cogent to reiterate the glaring error, common to all 97% studies, that preclude them from having any meaning applicable to CAGW and public policy pertinent to the theory. They all leave the “C” out of CAGW, and thereby move most skeptics into the camp of supporters of CAGW; as most skeptics accept that human GHG emissions cause some warming.
Another flaw, common to all 97% studies, is that it is likely that the majority of the alarmed “climate scientists” in those deeply flawed scientifically meaningless 97% surveys, are not specialists in the causes of climate change (attribution), but in the impacts of and remedies for such change. Many, if not most, may know only a little about the cogent studies of atmospheric physics. They may know great details about how in such and such region there was a drought, or a flood, and in that region these species were harmed, be it plants, animals, etc, and they then look at the IPCC climate model mean warming projection, which according to the observations) by a factor of at least two to three, then, unaware that ALL the computer models dramatically overstate OBSERVED warming, they say, “It worse than we thought, these events will increase in the future”, and politicians will add, “ if we do not tax the air you breath now”.

Let's review the fiasco-encrusted career of Deborah Turness, the BBC News woke wastrel who has been fired ("resigned") by the BBC (along with Davie, who bears a remarkable resemblance to an Al Capone associate in Chicago in the 1920s).
Enough time has passed --- a decade, in fact --- that few now remember Turness's spectacular feminist flame-out at NBC News (VIACOM), as a result of her Two Stooges executive partnership with the preposterously unqualified Pat Fili-Krushel (yes, that's a real name).
Refresh your memory with #1 and #2. Have #3 as dessert.

(Do note that after Turness was fired by Viacom and returned to Britain, whatever was left of the "soul" of NBC, along with its ethical backbone, was destroyed in conjunction with the rise of Donald Trump and his election to his first term as U.S. president in 2016.)

[On or about 02/12/15:]
Ambition and flattery minus brains greased the skids.
She was forced to issue a public apology in August 2014 for describing the pre-Turness-run NBC News as having "fallen asleep" --- while all the while, as it turned out, SHE was the one asleep at the switch re "Lyin' Brian" Williams.
The odds are about 9/5 that it won't be long before she's on her way back to London, possibly even before her second anniversary (August 5, 2015) at NBC.
Post Note (11/12/25): If Turness was at NBC in "August 2014" (above), then the above "second anniversary" is wrong. But she did return to Europe with her tail between her legs before August 2017 (she arrived back in England in February 2017; see below posted comment, mine), so that prediction was correct.
*****
NNTX: "Since Deborah Turness's tenure at NBC overlapped with Megan Kelly's, it would be interesting to know whether Turness was behind chasing Kelly out of NBC due to her supposedly "unacceptable" comments about black face costumes.
"OTOH, that likely red pilled Kelly."
11/11/25: I'm fairly certain that the damage wrought by Turness and Pat Fili-Krushel [both NBC News executives; both fired] was done, and Turness was effectively out of the picture, by the time Kelly arrived.
If I remember correctly, hiring Kelly was [the subsequently infamous NBC "News" executive, possibly more senile than Joe Biden]] Andrew Lack's idea.
A) Kelly arrived at NBC in January 2017.
B) Turness was officially ousted in February 2017, at time she was kicked upstairs to something called NBC News International, based in Europe, at which time she went home [England].
(If I also recall correctly, Noah Oppenheim turned out to be another fiasco-hire.)
"Megyn Kelly worked at NBC from 2017 to 2019. She officially joined the network in January 2017, but her final departure was in January 2019."
"In February 2017, Noah Oppenheim took over as president of NBC News and Turness was appointed president of a new division called NBC News International that was NBC's side in a partnership with Euronews, in which each network would contribute reporting to the other.
"She moved back to the UK. In April 2021, Turness [residing in Europe] left her role at NBC."
By the time Kelly made her Halloween comments about black-face costumes, NBC was dying to get rid of her and their manufactured "outrage" --- at this point, NBC had turned into an outright multi-racial KKK organization --- received 18 Oscar nominations and three actual Oscar awards in March of the following year. [sarcasm.]
And of course, Kelly eventually got the last laugh with her enormous multi-million dollar severance paycheck from NBC, which has enabled her to subsequently and successfully go into business for herself.
What is truly laudable is that the money has not gone to her head. It's obvious that it hasn't impaired her self-discipline --- she hits the gym often and looks great --- and her internal ethical gyroscope has remained stable and true.
In all revolutions like the French Revolution or the Bolshevik Revolution they eventually start eating their own. We see this in America when the old staple democrats are just not extreme enough. It’s all about “The Party”, one step out of line and you’re finished. Here’s a short video of John Fetterman on CNN with Dana Bash explaining how much more violent the left has become compared to the right. She can’t believe what he has to say.
They say the old Bolsheviks herded the Romanovs into a room and shot them all dead. Thank goodness the neo-Bolsheviks believe in gun control, so nothing like that will ever happen again.
Violent protesters should study past communist take-overs. Once the new government gains control, protesters will become liabilities and will be eliminated. College professors will need to accept the fact that their ideas no longer matter. They will need to submit to lower IQ bureaucrats who take great pleasure in exercising power over anyone who does not submit.
Why did the 1917 American Red Cross Mission to Russia include more financiers than medical doctors?
Rather than caring for the victims of war and revolution, its members seemed more intent on negotiating contracts with the Kerensky government and, subsequently, the Bolshevik regime.
“Sutton comes to conclusions that are uncomfortable for many businessmen and economists. For this reason, his work tends to be either dismissed out of hand as ‘extreme’ or, more often, simply ignored.” ―Richard Pipes, Baird Professor Emeritus of History, Harvard University (from Survival Is Not Enough: Soviet Realities and America's Future)
In a courageous investigation, Antony Sutton establishes tangible historical links between Russian communists and US capitalists. Drawing on US state department files, personal papers of key Wall Street figures, biographies, and conventional histories, Sutton reveals:
The role of Morgan banking executives in funneling illegal Bolshevik gold into the US.
The co-option of the American Red Cross by powerful Wall Street forces.
The intervention by Wall Street sources to free the Marxist revolutionary Leon Trotsky, whose aim was to topple the Russian government.
The deals made by major corporations to capture the huge Russian market a decade and a half before the US recognized the Soviet regime.
The secret sponsoring of Communism by leading businessmen, who publicly championed free enterprise.
Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution traces the foundations of Western funding of the Soviet Union. Dispassionately, and with overwhelming documentation, the author details a crucial phase in the establishment of Communist Russia.
This classic study―first published in 1974 and part of a key trilogy―is reproduced here in its original form. The other volumes in this trilogy are Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler and Wall Street and FDR.

The other day, my wife came to me and asked if I had seen the dog bowl.
My reply was "No, is he any good?".
Another dilemma of mine solved is; if living in Poland, your car was locked in the garage, how would you access it?
By using the garageski.
I sometimes get caught up in life complications when things are possibly simple, like myself. My dear wife of 40 years approached recently quite upset. She wanted to know why I had never bought her flowers. I apologized and admitted to not knowing that she any for sale.
I'm sure that many of you have already known the solutions to many of these issues. I need to apologize because I couldn't help it.
"admitting to not knowing that she HAD any for sale" is twice terrible right? Never buying flowers and not knowing her likes. Lots to unpack there eh? Hahaha
Now that she is retiring, Nancy Pelosi can go back to her San Francisco home and get hammered there. Oh no, wait, It was her husband who got hammered there.
I don't join in the conversations, but I have been, and always will be thankful for your Friday Funnies and Sunday Strip and the laughs from y'all ever since I have been following you!!! My weeks start with the Sunday Strip and I have a wonderful laughing weekend with your Friday Funnies. 🙏🏽
We host an annual Thanksgiving for those who love good food. Two years ago a psychologist we met at the dog park joined us for the turkey that we throw into a firepit with 140 other turkeys. This an annual fundraiser for a local Boys soccer team. He, along with 23 others came to try the turkey and all of the other great food. We ask everyone to bring a late relative to the table with food or anything that honors their deceased loved one. He just came out of fascination about the turkey.
After mingling with family and friends for an hour or so before dinner, he came to me and said, you have a very interesting group. People are blended family and siblings, parents etc. Some are smoking weed around the corner, others are drinking alcohol, but everyone is having a great time with no animosity.
I said, isn't that what family and friends are all about?
He said, no, in my job I have so many client's who are texting me freaking out about an offense from a relative. I said, how sad.
We used to take turns hosting Thanksgiving meals among friends and friends of friends who were not or could not go home to family for the days. Now we have all aged and dispersed in retirement or passed away. But, we also note the change in people since Covid began in 2020 that people are scared of each other and do not get together so much. Political polarization does not help either.
Depending on our guest list, we typically discourage political issues from being discussed. My entire family and 90% of friends are conservative, but that other 10% need our love and tolerance since they have none of it in themselves.
As a result, there is a lot of tongue biting, and occasional reminders to the bitchy non-conservatives that politics have no place at the Thanksgiving table. The 10% always leave first, then the table explodes! It is so much fun I cannot even express how much.
At this point I am the oldest one left in my family. I have one leftist brother 2 years younger who hasn't really been in the picture for decades. My wife is also the oldest remaining in her family with a brother who lives half a continent away. So, Thanksgivings are just us. Friends we used to share Thanksgiving meals with are too far away or passed as I said above. So nothing to argue about but maybe too many leftovers. and whether to make turkey sandwiches, turkey pot pie, and what happened to the leftover stuffing
I think you can find pearl onions in the liquor store or department. Often used in drinks like martinis. I don't drink Martinis but I have seen the onions.

Seriously, there is a fix. Here it is, in theory, in my not so humble opinion. I believe that much of what is wrong in America could be easily remedied by separating spending from funding. Let elected representatives debate and propose spending until the cows come home BUT only citizen taxpayers should be able to approve funding. If each and every budget were subjected to approval by citizen taxpayers and audited by Doge the American people would quickly get the government they want to the extent they are willing to pay for it. Everything is skewed by lobbyists when Congress gets to decide both spending and funding. Lobbyists, partisan politics, waste and fraud are completely emasculated when citizen taxpayers are in charge of funding. I would vote for this!
The role of the politician shifts to first, proposing what is in the interest of his constituents and the larger society good and once approved, explaining to his constituents why they should commit their funds to it.
I’ll give an example below but first I assert that this would 1. Quickly right size government spending 2. Increase peace and harmony among people of different persuasions (because everyone gets the government they want to the extent they are willing to pay for it). 3. Shrink federal government by driving many social issues back down to the local level where they belong.
Example: free bus rides for NYC. If NYC wants free bus rides, let citizen taxpayers agree to it. I predict that NO ONE outside of NYC would agree to it with their tax dollars. In New York State, a portion of people might agree that this was a cause they believed in while others would not. When all had voted (mind you only citizen taxpayers can vote their money away because those that don’t pay taxes don’t get to spend anyone else’s money - we call that theft not voter rights) the budget would reflect exactly how much and to what extent those who fund that service would be willing to spend on it. If people want government services for free, let them pay for it.
Let’s see what that might look like in practice. The estimated cost to run free busses for one year is hypothetically 1 million. That represents 100% of the budget. Once put to the approval process, 5% of NYC citizen taxpayers agree that their taxes can be used for that. The Budget is then $50,000. The problem then becomes one of deciding who does and who doesn’t get to ride free. Elderly, disabled and very poor might be rightfully given these benefits for which they can be grateful to generous citizens. Nobody got forced into tax slavery. Some people got what they were willing to pay for. Win, win, win. Grifters get a job so they can pay taxes and then vote for the stuff they may or may not qualify for. No one is taken advantage of against their will and their God given right to the work of their own hands and their own property.
Off subject / I couldn't get up the oomph to say anything while the dicing and slicing goes on with Mary Talley Bowden and the unfounded accusations about Dr. Malone are ramping up. Now she says she doesn't know if she can trust him. This is the crap he has to face and it's unrelenting. No one seems to be keeping track of the history and money moving thru The Wellness Company.
DD, what are you referring to? I asked Grok and found nothing disparaging. As for the Wellness Company, everything they sell seems 200% over priced to me. If I want Fenbendazole, I get it from my local Amish horseshoe shop for about $5. And Tennessee has ivermectin over the counter.
The battle of words and accusations is on X. Malone has called out some of the practice direction of the co. and some of the ones making money are the same ones snarling at him. Read the article today about the Brownstone episode and you'll know more of what I'm talking about.

Is Trident less bad than sugary gum?

It's obvious that it hasn't impaired her self-discipline --- she hits the gym often and looks great --- and her internal ethical gyroscope has remained stable and true.

apologies for the double post... need coffee.
She can’t believe what he has to say.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNgGcXDYoxM
They say the old Bolsheviks herded the Romanovs into a room and shot them all dead. Thank goodness the neo-Bolsheviks believe in gun control, so nothing like that will ever happen again.
Tough choice I do admit. “To live or to die…”

And again our founding fathers statement ring Biblical context, “Capitalism is only good thing when controlled with integrity.”
"...they eventually start eating their own." - Let us NOT follow that example.
Keep it up!!!
Here's mine: What song should you Not play at a funeral? This one goes along with Nancy's broom.
Give up??!? Ding Dong, the witch is dead.
That is the song I sang when Trump beat Hilary in 2016.
" admitted to not knowing that she any for sale" . . . and that was when the fight began!
Really not nice! Funny but not nice.
Love the first funny!!!
I don't join in the conversations, but I have been, and always will be thankful for your Friday Funnies and Sunday Strip and the laughs from y'all ever since I have been following you!!! My weeks start with the Sunday Strip and I have a wonderful laughing weekend with your Friday Funnies. 🙏🏽
I relate to the thanksgiving arrest and release on Saturday the best. Though I would extend it through the weekend.
me too. just posted something similar
I cannot wait to make Turkey Pot Pie. I just have a hard time finding pearl onions that make the pie. Happy Thanksgiving, enjoy your leftovers.
I think you can find pearl onions in the liquor store or department. Often used in drinks like martinis. I don't drink Martinis but I have seen the onions.
Goatees work for some people, for sure. But honestly, I think she'd look better clean-shaven.
But for hypocrisy, there would be no Democrat Party leadership and yet the Lemmings march.
What else do they know and where else would they have learned it?
It’s a Madd Madd world spinning out of control!
Thomas, Efforts to control the world are futile and endless - yet the globalists WEF/WHO persist...
Thanks for the organized and accessible articles!!
I concur‼️‼️
I wish I had $1250. I wonder if there is a discount if you don't drink the beer.
Two-tiered justice.
Claims that the J6 pipe bomber has been identified are all over the net. Perhaps "forensic analysis" should still be subjected to scrutiny and skepticism. But this could get really interesting for the three-letter agencies that "protect" us. Where's the popcorn?
Engaging selection this morning! AND a major thank you again for the access to you essays. Haven't figured out cell phone bookmarking yet, so your repeat is golden.
The marching band sounds good and unfortunately is on point.
As for the News doll, read the strangest post this AM. From Dowd? Re a former MAHA official, Dr MB, Dr Hatfill plus trying to bust RFK Jr out of a silo he's imprisoned in. Crazy stuff. The 'Hatfill' alone does it for me.
Dems take on matters! Just listen to their responses to Fetterman's latest scare. It wasn't just a faint and fall.
As for the 'Liberal White Woman' - it isn't just that. Its the 'L College Educated W W'. Which goes to confirm the goals of the Commies march through institutions are being achieved. I daresay my state and No VA offer prime examples.
:) for the Thxgvg Special. Bet more'n just men would spring for that.
That cock looks more like a hen!
Happy days are here again 🤞. Have a good one. 🐎
The shutdown has ended, but i was inspired at day 40 to write this. Yes, I was furloughed and yes, I had children who loved this song.🎶
On Furlough (to tune of Frozen's "Let it go")
The doors are closed on Congress tonight
Not a Senator to be seen
They have failed to pass all budgets
and a CR that was clean
Politicians hurl their insults while they all still get paid
But workers on furlough are left without a trade
Don't do your jobs, don't let them see
All the pork and the stuff you say is free
Conceal the steal, don't let them know
Well now we know
On furlough On furlough, can't pay the workers anymore
On furlough On furlough, turn away and slam the door
I don't care what they're going to say
Let the House recess
They don't do their jobs there anyway
It's funny how politicos make Citizens feel small
And the taxes that i have paid,
don't benefit me at all.
It's time to see what we can do,
to stop the handouts and be through
With socialists spending funds for thee,
But not on me!!!
On furlough On furlough, can't pay the workers anymore
On furlough On furlough, turn away and slam the door
I don't care what they're going to say
Let the House recess
(pause)
The wasted funding makes the deficit increase
And I have no money left to pay my housing lease
My freezer's empty now because we ate it all
40 days and counting now
I concede, just screw it all!
On furlough On furlough, no need to rise at the break of dawn
On furlough On furlough,
No one cares that I am gone
Here I am, unemployed today
Let the House recess
They don't do their jobs there anyway.
Good song 🎵
So clever!
After posting the Brit video, I guess you will not be going through Heathrow anytime soon???
Okay. Will try to find it.
