Yesterday, the academic physician (full Professor at Stanford, no less) once vilified by former NIH Director Francis Collins as a “fringe epidemiologist”, Director of NIH nominee Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, testified before the Senate in a confirmation hearing.
Having listened to various clips and read commentary from both mainstream media and alternative media, I am convinced that not only will Dr. Bhattacharya sail through the committee hearing, but the Senate will also promptly confirm him.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Bhattacharya stated that “a culture of coverup, obfuscation, and a lack of tolerance for ideas that differed from theirs” had characterized the official federal COVID response. He promised to create an agency that would tolerate and even encourage dissent. Elaborating on the point, he said: “Dissent is the very essence of science,”
Please listen:
In response to questioning about his stance on vaccines, Dr. Bhattacharya stated that he fully supports children being vaccinated for diseases like measles. When further questioned about the link between autism and vaccination, he remarked, “I don’t generally believe there is a link, based on my review of the literature.” He then added that the NIH should fund research to prove or disprove the theory conclusively.
Transcript of the above clip:
Senator Jost Hawley: And I just want to ask you about that. In my remaining moments here. I had the opportunity to question one of the co-authors of the now infamous proximal origin paper, Dr. Robert Gary is the individual who I had the opportunity to question.
He wrote that paper on March 17th, 2020. You probably remember, doctor, this is the paper that infamously stated, and I'm going to quote it now, that the “SARS-CoV-2 is not a laboratory construct or a manipulated virus.” Under questioning by me, Dr. Gary admitted he actually had no knowledge of that at the time.
He wrote that in March of 2020. He had no evidence to suggest that was the case. This was in fact a piece of purist propaganda.
He has since had many of his research products withdrawn from peer-reviewed journals because he hasn't followed appropriate peer-reviewed standards. This effort, this propaganda effort, and that paper, as you remember, was used as the basis of government-directed censorship to those in the scientific community like yourself to millions of ordinary Americans.
The net effectiveness was a tremendous loss in confidence by the American people in the NIH and in our public health officials. You and I discussed the vital importance of restoring some of that credibility. Talk to us about how you see going about doing that:
Dr. Jay Bhattacharya; Senator, that episode is a low point in the history of science. The top officials of the NIH abused their position to hide the support for research that may have caused the pandemic. And I commit to making sure that all of the activity at NIH, not just going backward, but also going forward, are transparent and open to the American people to Congress. That's vitally important for the future of the NIH and for the future of science itself. Thank you.
Fetal Tissue Research
Jay Bhattacharya also responded to a question from Senator Josh Hawley and said that he would oppose the use of aborted fetal tissue in research, saying that it is essential to respond to ethical concerns from the public and that there are alternatives, other methods to use in scientific research.
Bernie Sanders: “Will you help lead that movement?”
Senator Bernie Sanders led the questioning and comments on the issue of children and junk food.
My friend Rav Aurora points out that in the clip below, there was a spectacular moment of bipartisan unity, where Senator Sanders and Dr. Bhattacharya seem to agree to work together on clamping down on junk food in some capacity.
Senator Sander’s tone at the confirmation hearing suggests that he knows Dr. Jay Bhattacharya will be confirmed and that he might even vote for him! Sander’s tone and body posture were light years away from the synthetic, manufactured and harmonized attacks he aimed at HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy during his confirmation hearing!
The “Take Away” from Mainstream Media:
The Senate committee confirmation hearing was unusually, even radically bipartisan, and even mainstream media was charmed by Dr. Bhattacharya’s good-naturedness. His humble and learned responses set precisely the right tone. Even the New York Times couldn’t muster up any angry opposition to his nomination. Their headline from the hearing being: “A New Way of Thinking About the NIH.”
Even Stat News, the progressive and mainstream medical lay press mouthpiece that primarily represents the POV of Boston biopharma, and which attacks President Trump whenever possible, quoted important scientists singing his praises, writing that:
Now, if confirmed by the Senate, Bhattacharya will be entrusted with directing the U.S. National Institutes of Health, the biggest funder of biomedical research in the world — and if you ask many of his collaborators about him, a very different Bhattacharya emerges. “I do think Jay is a reasonable person, not an ideologue,” said Mark Hlatky, a Stanford professor of health policy and medicine.
“If there’s anyone I wanted to be making the case to the president about the value of science to solve problems and contribute to economic prosperity, it would be Jay Bhattacharya right now,” said Dana Goldman, director of the University of Southern California’s Schaeffer Center for Health Policy and Economics.
The Takeaway
I could find no evidence that Congress members “ring-fenced” Dr. Bhattacharya in any way, which is important.
I am hopeful that he can implement his shared vision of a more efficient, transparent, and less authoritarian National Institute of Health with the right staff.
To conclude: Dr. Bhattacharya did a fantastic job yesterday. I can't wait to see what he accomplishes as Director of NIH once confirmed!

I, of course, favor zealots, but those are hard to come by, and harder for the Senate to confirm. But to his great credit, I've never thought Dr. Bhattacharya was lying to us, and I don't see in him a man who'd seek "quick and devastating takedowns" of those with whom he disagrees.
I put it all together in a written message to both of my senators on February 4th of this year. It's been nearly a year since I abandoned hope (and communication) with my US rep's office. I hope this will eventually become plain for officials at all levels to see.
<< I’m in my late 50s, and I sometimes wish I could go for a week without hearing some implicit or explicit reference to events in Europe over 80 years ago. Yet those events long ago, marked by the deaths of at least tens of millions, remain a part of the modern daily conversation. I suggest that in the COVID era, we are seeing the greatest set of crimes in human history, set in motion at least in part by our own federal government. Sound ridiculous?
The CIA has reportedly recently joined the FBI and Department of Energy in acknowledging the likely lab origins of COVID-19. Earlier in the pandemic, countless people around the world were ridiculed, smeared, discredited, censored, sidelined, terminated, etc., for making this assertion. Here is the picture that is emerging despite the best efforts of government and media at narrative control:
a) American taxpayer funds WERE applied to gain-of-function research at WIV.
b) Anthony Fauci lied to Senator Rand Paul during Senate committee testimony when he denied funding gain-of-function research at WIV.
c) FBI, DoE, and now CIA have concluded that, Fauci’s assertions and the Proximal Origin paper notwithstanding, the outbreak DID originate from the Wuhan lab.
d) In response to the pandemic resulting from this lab leak, BILLIONS (!!!) of people around the world have willingly or unwillingly been subjected to new “vaccine” technologies developed at “warp speed.”
e) High rates of excess mortality and disability remain extant, mostly NOT due to COVID. Doctors in the US and around the world are reportedly “baffled” by sharp increases in peri/myocarditis, blood clots, aggressive cancers, neurological disorders, sudden deaths, etc.
f) The WHO for years now has vigorously sought treaty powers that, as Senator Paul wrote in his book, “Deception: The Great COVID Cover-up,” “…subvert our national autonomy and make us answerable to international health edicts.” (p 392)
I have watched in horror for five years now as governments have rolled out tyranny using a manufactured catastrophe as pretext. I am aware of a few researchers who have attempted to identify global excess mortality resulting from COVID-19 vaccination. Denis Rancourt. Edward Dowd. Steve Kirsch. With some variation, these place the number in the millions or tens of millions. But who can know for sure? Our federal “health” bureaucracies have doubled, tripled, quadrupled down on their assertions that the mRNA vaccines are “safe and effective.” At least until very recently, these advocated the injection of infants as young as 6 months old. Heartbreaking. Ever hear of Kevin McKernan’s peer-reviewed and published research showing widespread DNA contamination in the vaccine vials? Claims that this DNA contamination can insinuate itself into the human genome? The effects of these injections may be with us for generations to come. Governments persist.
I have noted in previous communication that I had a copy of RFK Jr’s “The Wuhan Cover-up” sent to your office in xxxxxx. I had little hope that this would actually be passed on and read, but my act was more of a statement than anything else. I wonder how many of the senators currently casting aspersions onto RFK Jr during his confirmation process have actually read what he wrote in his last two books. There are pages and pages of footnotes for any researcher willing to check his claims. I have little awareness that anyone has dared to challenge him on specific details, or to file suit against him. They prefer broad smears instead.
In the last 5 years, I count only two senators who’ve made any meaningful stand against what the federal government has done to the American people: Senators Rand Paul and Ron Johnson. The latter held at least two hearings related to COVID vaccine issues. To the best of my knowledge, Senator Roger Marshall was the only member of Congress to show up, and for only the second hearing at that. Marjorie Taylor Greene and a mere handful of others in the House have shown bravery and fierce advocacy for the people, against government abuses, and against the Biden administration’s vigorous attempts to cede sovereignty via treaty to the WHO.
I think it’s way past time that legislators, whose role is identified in Article I of the Constitution as representing We the People, start acting in the best interests of their constituents, rather than those of corporate (Pharma) or internationalist (UN/WHO/WEF/Gates Foundation) entities.
I hope that Trump’s second administration, characterized in these early stages by renewed vigor and increased transparency, will root out the harmful elements within the federal agencies. I urge you to assist in defunding those harmful elements and holding those who have betrayed the American people to account. These COVID crimes have occurred on the watch of the 116th, 117th, 118th, and now 119th Congresses. Sadly, these may be inescapable topics of discussion some 80 years in the future, if we don’t do ourselves in before then, or if a digitally administered Orwellian Ministry of Truth prevents us from discussing them freely.>>
Remember when we discovered thru FOIA that Collins and Fauci deemed Drs Bhattacharya, Kuldorff and Gupta as “fringe epidemiologists” and worthy of a “swift take down”?
Is it not remarkable that no one is talking of that now?
When that email came to my attention and became public to anyone who good dig into information, my level of “radicalization” and anger went straight up. We know all about corruption and the admin state and deep state, etc., but Fauci and Collins showed the utter depravity of those in power who hold a public trust. Jay is a great guy and very smart and centered. He got shown his own files by Elon. He went to Tallahassee and had a great talk with DeSantis. I signed the Great Barrington Declaration just days after its publication.
I am looking forward, but I want those who took my rights away to pay some price for what they did and how they did it.
I guess I want to rub their noses in the shot of the Diamond Princess and the Santa Clara seroprevalence study.
Wasn’t it nice to see Jay’s wife, son, and brother behind him!
