Particularly funny memes today. Rubio certainly has his work cut out for him! We all understand why congress isn’t notified regarding a military strike. Democrats would notify the enemy!

Loved the Fetterman meme; the only adult in the party. I’m praying for the Iranian people. May they soon know peace and prosperity, and most of all, freedom!! Thanks, Malone’s.

CMCM's avatar

I just watched Fetterman being interviewed by Maria Bartiromo and he said he totally supports Trump's and Israel's actions and that America and the world is a safer place now that Khamanei is gone. I loved it when he said that for him, "it's always country and what is best for America over political party." He said he knows people in his party don't agree, and he doesn't understand their attitude. He said if some of his own constituents don't agree with him, it doesn't matter, he won't compromise what is right.

Good man. Too bad more Democrats aren't like him.

And…… Obama’s Persian queenie Valerie Jarrett must be unhappy today.

ComeQuicklyLord's avatar

She’s weeping and wailing—all that cash Obama gave them is for nought. But she’s being comforted by Obama.

Tom Potts's avatar

Perhaps she can switch sides and join the Persian revolution underway. However, no one should ever trust her for anything at all. How big a chunk of those pallets of cash did she loot from the American taxpayers?

Tom Daniel's avatar

Jarrett, (a) rich Slum Lord, once she entered the Obama 'family' has for MANY years now, been seldom seen till recently - looks just like she did back when she had her "eye" on the self styled Communist - Van Jones.

VDW, You mean Democrats DO notify the enemy. Treasonous acts (by) American citizens) no longer carry the DEATH penalty - nor ANY penalty for that matter for Democrats or RINOs.

Ana González's avatar

I'm still waiting for something to happen to General Milley⁉️‼️

🤔

VictorDianne Watson's avatar

I fear that they might,as well as, some RINOs. Democrats do protect criminal illegal immigrants from being removed from the country. Apparently, Massie announced the strike before it happened.

Nancy Shrewsbury's avatar

I’m pretty sure I saw a comment by Ilhan Omar on one of her social accounts that the attack would happen this past weekend.

Tom Daniel's avatar

Isn't the Rubio 'meme' AI generated? Did Rubio AUTHORIZE using his likeness is such degrading manners? What if some AI "creator" began posting OUTRAGEOUS 'memes' of Dr. Malone - doing OUTRAGEOUS "acts" - speaking in the exact same manner, tone and

vocabulary as Dr. Malone?

Are there ANY new laws regarding unauthorized use of (any) person that is slandered, shown to be doing immoral, lewd, sexual or perverted acts?

There seem to be much praise for AI advancing medicine - or other potentially positive and helpful to mankind - but what about AI being USED by its (human PROGRAMMERS) "creators" to do harm and cause grief, confusion, and possibly suicide by those targeted?

Norma Odiaga's avatar

You are right to ask about this. I have to admit that the Rubio memes are pretty funny. That guy is truly amazing. But the dangers of AI are not emphasized enough. I have gotten so that I don't believe anything anymore. And it isn't easy to verify everything.

Nancy Shrewsbury's avatar

Ilhan Omar DID TWEET that the attack would happen over the weekend!!

Norma Odiaga's avatar

Really? Is she in the Gang of Eight? I heard that the press had news of the attack way too soon, so someone had apparently told them. The Democrats hate President Trump so much that they can no longer be trusted with anything. It is such a disturbing situation.

Gail Benton's avatar

Saying that it's OK to be a traitor to the Constitution will be the demise of liberty.

The President declared war...for another country.

The propaganda is working beautifully...against America.

What Charlie Kirk said: https://youtu.be/IWqAJjID9NI?t=1244

VictorDianne Watson's avatar

No one should go against the Constitution. Thank God Trump hasn’t.

Gail Benton's avatar

Looks like you don't know the Constitution enough.

There are local Constitution discussion groups that show how the Constitution is designed to keep the federal government is in a box.

The People have fail, which is what Benjamin Franklin meant, "We've created a Constitutional Republic, if you can keep it."

The ONLY function of the 3 legislative branches is to protect the liberties of men and women. I don't say person, individual, citizen, etc. because those titles puts us in the United States corporation jurisdiction. Which is below the United States Republic's jurisdiction. It's a lot to learn.

The President has NO authority to start a war, according to the Constitution.

The People do...through Congress.

"But, Obama did the same thing."

Yes, and they both, among most other Presidents, have not followed the Constitution. Along with the rest of the traitors in government.

And, it's the People's DUTY to alter or abolish such usurpation.

The puppet masters, puppeteering have the best social engineers that money can buy. It doesn't matter which president gets in, the agenda goes on.

The puppet masters (trillionaire bankers), make it look like there are two governments that only divide, so they can more easily rule. This administration hasn't indicted anyone in the other administration for the invasion, Convid, "files" or any other thing Trump said he would do.

Learn how to put the creature (government) back in its cage. It's the way to stop globalization. They'll have you believe that the way the government is reigned in, is the government doing it itself. Definitely not so.

If you don't have a local discussion group, a good place to start is:

wethepeople2.us Go to Green under education to see how Law comes before government...written in stone.

When you see it, you can't unsee it.

VictorDianne Watson's avatar

The President, through the Constitution, is allowed to take military action in response to a threat without Congressional approval. The threat has been, for decades, Iran developing nuclear power, which we know would be used against us. After the June bombing, they again began that plan. They will never stop until that regime is gone. They hate us more than they love their children. They also fund international terror. Iran has been at war with us for 47 years. Trump is at last facing it and doing something about the threat.

James Schwartz's avatar

Happy to be among my people. Some other Substackers I follow have some real loonies too. I had some concerns with Iran and hope things go as smooth as they seem they will? I’m old enough though to say WE OWED THEM THIS! I remember when they took our hostages and the outrage I felt then as a Pre-teen. I felt who the heck is this country and who do they think they are for taking Americans hostage. We had such weak leadership in the White House under Carter and he started the “let’s negotiate with them and cross our fingers approach” that has failed for the past 47 years with dealing with Iran. Then Ronnie Reagan came in riding his horse and serious threat if they didn’t release our citizens. They were home pretty quickly and that was the beginning of the US winning again and national pride was sweeping our nation. Nothing seemed impossible and the future was bright. Those were days that I long for and never thought I’d see what’s going on in this country today. Ron and Nancy are surely turning over in their graves. Trump is doing all he can to bring that back and the resistance he is facing is just insane to me. Why are people wanting our country to fail? It baffles the mind. I love my country no matter its faults because it still is the greatest country on earth. If you believe any different why would you want to live here? Anyone who is against that shouldn’t be leading us but here we are and I don’t see anything good should the other party come back to power. We all gotta be pulling in the same direction for this thing to work.

4Freedom's avatar

I, too, have lived during the history you describe. Many citizens are ignorant of it (too young, ill- or un-informed, close minded). We who do know it and also love our country find it incomprehensible when our enemies are supported by our own citizens and leaders. It should motivate us to denounce such support but we are “too busy” or just don’t want to be bothered (self centered). Then, we have Republican “leaders” who refuse to pass the SAVE act so we can have clean elections.

James Schwartz's avatar

I am becoming despondent with both parties. He reps have had majority in both houses and have done ZERO with it. Trump has done everything by EO which will be reversed day 1 when the White House is occupied with a libtard. I get what you’re saying that we seem to be just sitting back and not out there having our voices heard. It seems that way for sure but I still feel there is a silent majority that is ready to rise up and will when it’s called for. Both parties have stuck us with 40 trillion of debt so it’s not like one is solely responsible. If and when it’s needed I’ll be at the front

Joy Metcalf's avatar

Executive Orders can never take the place of congressional action because it's Congress that makes law. POTUS is ignoring Separation of Powers, and has been for years, decades. Maybe if we had actual debates in Congress instead of turf building and mud slinging, we'd actually get something done, and maybe then we wouldn't be in so many "military actions".

Leo's avatar

James, defining the "Front" is tricky - what exactly is it, and where...and when...? Fast forward to "who and how", not forgetting "why."

Tom Daniel's avatar

Now in my 88th year as a freeborn (sovereign) American citizen - and lifetime INDEPENDENT voter (and) student of history, politics and economics for over a half century, the advent on public TV (of) C-SPAN I (and later C-SPAN II in 1979, was a godsend - that spotlighted the absurdities, shenanigans and UNCONSTITUTIONAL "legislation" via BOTH Democrats (when in power), ditto Republicans (when in power) - ALWAYS under the rubric of: "The public good" - have produced a nation now over Thirty Three TRILLION dollars in debt, - NOT counting so-called "OFF-BUDGET" items which total some 50 trillion dollars in debt. (Consider the entire known Universe is pegged at LESS that 15 Billion years old - since the "Big-Bang.")

WWII started one week after my 5th Birthday - and, now, America, I hardly know ye!

Sometimes it seems to me that absolute EVIL is masquerading as good - and millions of human beings buy INTO that - generation after generation after generation.

History spotlights that ALL so-called "democracies" devolve and become "mobocracies" by their 300th year on average. The USA it now at its 250th. NOT much time remaining to turn things around, is there?

It sure looks like the "Fragile Experiment with Freedom" Ben Franklin spoke in 1787-is NOW in mortal danger of becoming as extinct as the Dodo bird.

Nancy Shrewsbury's avatar

BUT GOD. I believe and pray for repentance for this great country, a return to our CLEARLY Christian roots.

Not sure I buy into the whole PTSD thing, but I have to admit this has touched a ‘take-that-you-a**hole’ nerve. But what so many on the right fail to understand, this is not a revenge moment. It is a ‘lead, follow, or get out of the way’ moment.

If we can't 'deal' with a problem, we eliminate it. Sound wisdom and a permanent solution. Let us not forget that 'all' our enemies, foreign and domestic, have advocated, supported, and financed the destruction of "We the People" and the United States for decades. Like the mullahs, they have used a huge amount of our tax dollars to do it. Our national debt is an obvious clue. Always remember who made that possible and why.

Joy Metcalf's avatar

Our national debt was given to us by both parties.

Amen, I also love America, & I have a problem with those people that continue to yell, & scream “they hate America”…Well, if those young (& some seniors), hate America, then they need to pack their bags & high-tail-it-out & find a country that fuels their hatred for America. God Bless America…:).

SR Miller's avatar

Add me as another who lived thru the past 47 years - and then some, and while I have mixed emotions about the necessity of the weekend’s actions (hell bent religious zealots rarely give you alternatives 😔) I’ve shed no tears the past 24 hours, nor do I expect to (for the hell bent religious zealots, that is).

But, I ask this as a Patriot, when does Our Country become NOT our country? POTUS Trump retires in 3, lord willing a sane conservative America loving freedoms loving fighter takes his place — but what if? Who from 100 years ago would recognize USofA 2 years ago, the direction we seem to be generally heading, even today?

No, not channeling Eeyore, just concerned.

Sonia Nordenson's avatar

According to my crystal ball, there's a new leadership coming, and it's not donkeys or elephants but a small, wise council. Donald Trump will be our last president. This is the kind of thing the Golden Age is all about.

Ana González's avatar

Sonia, for some reason, the title of that Ingersoll book: The Last President has been on my mind all day today.

I get these types of thoughts that come to me out of nowhere ‼️⁉️🤷‍♀️🤷🤷

Sonia Nordenson's avatar

🤷🏻‍♀️ Time will tell . . .

SR Miller's avatar

OK, I’ll bite, take another look at/into ye olde crystal ball and ‘splain to me how this comes about; truly, I AM interested, not that I think it would/could happen but the thinking. A council of governing elders would/could be interesting - just don’t think it’s practical (at least to the way my mind works).

Sonia Nordenson's avatar

I don't know how it'll come about, SR, but I'm positive that it's ahead for us—along with having all of our DNA restored. And, if it's your soul's choice to ascend to the Fifth Dimension, you'll see how practical it is.

LB (Little Birdie)'s avatar

SR. Try, as I do, to keep this forefront of your mind. This Country IS our country, this Country MUST be our country, this Country WILL be our country. It (positively) IS so, it (positively) MUST be so, it (positively) WILL be so, forever and ever, In LOVE and FAITH, Amen!!

SR Miller's avatar

Right there with ya LB; my concern comes down to this: half of the voters (ignore the most recent electoral college) have no understanding of how this nation was set up, how the constitution actually provides for and protects the freedom(s) we’ve enjoyed. Another large percentage doesn’t give a flip, some think there’s a better way but refuse to go to those better way countries and insist on destroying what we do have; and then there are thems that just plain hate America, her people, what she has historically supported and THEY want to destroy or worse America.

If we ever get a sufficient majority of any of those losers in the executive, legislative and judicial branches then any protections afforded by Our Constitution can be kissed away as they will have the ability to define, legislate and enforce any tawdry interpretation of the constitution they wish. THAT’s what concerns me - at that point this will no longer be the America of of founders, our history, it will be something completely different and we will be "america " in name only.

The issue is that the freedoms and liberties our Constitution expounds are being used to burn her up and too many of the folks elected into leadership roles are either blind to their actions or they are consciously taking actions to destroy our foundation. What seemed like a solid foundation to our founders has become so eroded it might as well be shifting sand.

Ana González's avatar

We're all concerned at the position in which we find our country.

Yes we ALL MUST PRAY for continued conservative administration to continue after Trump's 3 years. Aside from prayers 🙏 we must remember that he has given us free will and we can start exercising that will every day so that we can assure that a conservative administration will be continued.

"We had such weak leadership in the White House under Carter"

Yes. Carter was weak and so was our State Department.

I experienced the 1979 Iranian revolution in person. Just out of grad school at the end of 1976, my first job was teaching English in Tehran and I arrived there at the beginning of 1977. I was there for two years until early 1979 when the Shah left the country. Iran was a really great and fascinating place under the Shah, who had been trying to keep a lid on the communists who had infiltrated his government and Marxist influenced groups that wanted to overthrow him. All through 1978 things had been getting bad, although most of the violent activity seemed to be in the southern areas of Iran. Tehran was relatively quiet and you wouldn't know anything was going on.

From what I observed, Jimmy Carter totally misread the situation and was once quoted as saying "the Ayatollah is a good religious man." How naive could you get? You only had to look at his face and hear what he said to know he was evil. My students (mixed male and female, all in western clothing in those days!) told me about Khomeini's very incendiary audio cassettes were being smuggled into Iran and played in various mosques to stir up the people against the Shah and foment his overthrow. Many of us Americans spoke to the U.S. Embassy about our concerns, and they either truly didn't know or were lying when they said they had heard nothing about those recordings, and surely we were mistaken. I was never impressed by our embassy personnel. They seemed more concerned with their elite embassy life and gatherings with other embassies in the city. We Americans certainly did not feel we would get any help from them if there were to be problems.

I have watched with almost disbelief how our own government as well as other European governments and also the utterly useless and corrupt U.N. have all dealt with Iran for the past 47 years. Obama takes the award for being the worst of all when he delivered pallets of money to them. They are all feckless cowards and didn't have the courage to deal with the Iranian terrorist government. Actually, they had no idea what to do. All they had to offer was 47 years of worthless "diplomacy" which the Iran government used to endlessly delay. The West got played repeatedly and didn't seem to realize it. It was almost laughable if it hadn't been so tragic.

Finally we have a President who understands all the useless "diplomacy" is a stall tactic, and he is doing what should have been done decades ago. I hope he is thorough and completes the job because while Khamenei was definitely the head of the snake, the Revolutionary Guard and pretty much the entire Islamic regime apparatus are violent and irredeemable. Nearly as bad are any other enforcers and participants in the decades of mass murder of Iranian citizens. Those people aren't going to turn and suddenly side with the very people they were happy to massacre at the behest of their rulers. They are the fanatical true believers and that will not change.

beccar1954's avatar

Back when the Iran hostage crisis was going on, there was a remake of The Beach Boys song going around that went “Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran, Bomb bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran…” It took 47 years for that to become a reality because there have been people in power who want globalism, and the only way to bring that about was with the destruction of the United States.

Carol j's avatar

Oh, James! We must be close in age with you being a bit younger (I just turned 71 years young) because I remember what you described exactly as that, too! Heck, "politics" wasn't even a "thing" to me back then, but mistreating our fellow Americans certainly was! I was old enough to have voted for Reagan & felt such pride that the candidate I helped into office had the right grit to get the job done! I was blissfully happy when those hostages came home with one kissing the ground once off the plane. Now, I feel the same way toward Trump. Once more, we have a man of ACTION & not mere words! I certainly hope the Iranian people can & will take advantage of their new freedom(s) & a new era can begin with an actual alliance between America & Iran.

Next stop.. get some of these pain-in-the-butt Congress animals out of office! SAVE Act, IF Thune can get some muscle going, would be phenomenal! Imagine, if you will, ONLY Citizens voting in OUR elections! I'd like to feel pride in Thune, too, but he, like Reagan & Trump, must EARN that!

James, a horrific, destructive mind-altering VIRUS was brought to the young United States - from Europe in the 17th century - and entered the American (political) bloodstream via the American academy - and American "intellectual" class; a mental virus that has grown - generation after generation - and morphed to the point it NOW, circa 2026, it has infested virtually EVERY institution. It is caused by as so-called "philosophy" named MARXISM.

This malignant mind-virus, is known under various aliases, including: socialism, communism, liberalism, progressivism, WOKEism and Maoism - is DIRECTLY responsible for more that 100 times the death toll of humanity than from the WUHAN virus.

At this time, there is NO known cure.

I forgot the massager, "Resteck" a great little machine with infrared balls (maybe, not sure, they do heat up tho) that also get warm. Portable and not too expensive either.

D D's avatar
Mar 1Edited

Two different machines,(sauna ) I ordered the "hooga" health, recommended by AMD. two different wavelengths, hand held. $45 or so. I believe a bed is much more expensive and prob. really good. Both my husband and I notice the results on any sore joint (his ankle from a vigorous walk) mine a sore knee area. I seldom notice my joints, so when I do, I get on it with DMSO or arnica cream and the light. We have only had the light for about two weeks.

ComeQuicklyLord's avatar

Thank you! I can’t use DMSO on one joint, so Red Light therapy is my next best option. There’s a place that offers Red Light Bed Therapy, which utilizes near infrared light, which deals with deeper tissue—that’s what I need, but I won’t rule out the ones you talked about.

Again, thanks for the info.

D D's avatar

The "hooga" uses both red wave lengths too. Deeper use is close and longer time 10 min. or so and the more superficial use for skin collagen building (face) is farther distance, shorter time.

Have a great Sunday Everyone!!!

ComeQuicklyLord's avatar

Rubio memes are epic!

The meme about some women in America wanting Sharia versus Iranian women fighting against it should be a warning to everyone, especially New Yorkers and America in general.

Under Mamdani and earlier predecessor's, Times Square was over taken (set aside) for Muslims to pray in the streets during Ramadan with food being given to them for Iftar, the breaking of the fast, by local stores. We are looking more like the UK and Europe. NOTE: There’s about 250,000 Muslims in NYC.

Soon there will be no dogs allowed in NYC (they are haram to Islam) and No Go Zones will be marked off. All of this will be done for the false god Allah, to replace Christians and Jews worshipping the God of the Bible—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, whose Messiah is Jesus Christ, the Lord of lords.

To know the history of Islam is to know that it is not a peaceful religion, but a violent political movement that grew by the edge of the sword. It hates Jews and Christians, and coexistence is impossible under Sharia Law and Islamist rule.

If America is to maintain its Christian heritage, it must not become secular like Europe, which has lost its spiritual soul, but it must return to Christ, not by force of law or a sword which is not Christian, but through a total change of heart toward God—repentance and faith in Christ. That changes individuals, families, and culture. Without this change, the Islamic call for prayer will be in a neighborhood near you, and you will be powerless to change it.

Recognize Islam as a curse upon our nation, not a blessing, and read Deuteronomy 28, as to why that is and what the solution is.

beccar1954's avatar

Sadly, there are many Muslims who are peaceful, who are Muslim because they grew up in Muslim cultures, but Islam now has been hijacked by violent people. Yes, Islam’s origins were violent and is reasserting its beliefs of conquest by the sword. I feel bad for the Muslims I’ve known who are good people, but who must be placing loyalty to Islam and their cultural identities above their consciences. It’s kind of like the Democrats I’ve known who in many respects are good people, but who place party loyalty above their Christian values. After all, who can condone infanticide and call themselves Christian? That was banned hundreds of years ago, but child sacrifice is back big time, being offered to the god of convenience and “My body, my choice.” (Actually, sometimes it isn’t the woman’s choice but her boyfriend’s or husband’s or parent’s). Ironically, I imagine that if Islam does come to totally dominate the West, that abortion and all stages would be banned. How odd that the Left has made themselves bedfellows with Islam.

ComeQuicklyLord's avatar

I suspect that most “Muslims” in nations are not bona fide Muslims, as they were born into it, but sadly, it’s the leaders and larger masses that push its agenda across the world. I pray America does not fall to Islam—it’s not good physically and spiritually.

Carol j's avatar

Yet those same Islamists think it's just fine to slaughter people's pets (or tax owners for them). So, slaughtering animals for "religious sacrifices" is trying to come to our country (MI & NYC at this point)! Dogs in particular. Heck, my little guy is cleaner than any of those radical islamists! Thank God I live in OH where we don't have that insanity... yet. Columbus is a rats nest full of Islamists! Who knows what the November election(s) will thrust upon us?

Micheal Nash, Ph. D.'s avatar

Kipling wisely said east is east and west is west and never the the twain shall meet. beccar1954's avatar

That’s why when immigrants come here legally to become American citizens, they have to swear an allegiance to the United States. Illegals, and I imagine that temporary workers, don’t go through that process.

America’s leadership is morally bankrupt and economically criminal. Our elections are rigged, they chose who we get to vote for, they allow the bureaucracy to grow bloated, fight wars spending trillions we can’t pay back and lose. Oh yea and they poisoned me and millions intentionally. It’s not about love or hate of America it’s about holding our representative accountable for not representing us. Trumps sledge hammer may be necessary to break the cycle but be careful what you wish for as unintended consequences have a way of spoiling the intended outcome. We are in for a wild ride like the planet’s humans have never seen.

Hey—brighten up! It's not Monday yet.

pgramsey's avatar

Actually, this is not what I voted for, and not what I was promised. Trump promised no regime change wars. Take a look at https://greenwald.substack.com/p/trump-starts-a-major-regime-change?utm_source=post-email-title&publication_id=128662&post_id=189451771&utm_campaign=email-post-title&isFreemail=true&r=d13h5&triedRedirect=true&utm_medium=email if you want to see some of the receipts. "Vote the pro-peacce ticket. Vote Trump-Vance."

Vietnam was a mess, but it at least had a port to get supplies in and out. It was a disaster. Afghanistan was a disaster, and a much smaller bite than Iran. Attempting regime change in Iran is going to be yet another unnecessary disaster. And for what? Iran is none of our business.

Micheal Nash, Ph. D.'s avatar

He has promised no US boots. Iranians told to buck up and take back, control of themselves. Cannot think of any polite way to describe comparing this to Afghanistan or Nam.

True. At this point we just have to pray the void created will not be filled by dark forces. . . However, I figure the CIA will be doing their share to "influence" the situation. . . Perhaps that will keep them busy and away from US citizens.

Joy Metcalf's avatar

I would dearly love to see the CIA completely dismantled. It's true that intelligence (spying) is necessary for every company, but the lack of intelligence (brainpower) in the CIA is breathtaking. They can't be overhauled. They need to be completely replaced, and every "new" agent vetted very carefully.

Of course, this will never happen, but dreams persist....

Joy Metcalf's avatar

Oh, pu-leeze, do you really think we can make regime change without being involved--disastrously-forever? He promised no wars, especially no regime-change wars, so why should we believe "no US boots" on the ground?

Micheal Nash, Ph. D.'s avatar

Said what I meant and meant what I said

Ana González's avatar

Hey Rambler 👋, please say it isn't so. We have a Joy-less Joy person here in our group ⁉️

Micheal Nash, Ph. D.'s avatar

The reason was Trump recognizing radical islam as an existential threat to the US and the entire west and iran setting itself up as its centerpiece. Not regime change per se

James Lord's avatar

Yep. Maybe this is the right thing done for the right reasons. Maybe it isn't. Truth is that I'm confronted with so many wedge issues (support/don't support) that I can't keep up. And lies at every turn, from every party involved. That means I have to trust, and my reservoirs of trust are nearly depleted.

Ana González's avatar

I hear you‼️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🤷‍♀️

I reconciled it by avoiding all of the noise. I saw a meme that really resonated. It said: It took 47 to end a 47 year old threat

Sweet and to the point.

Sometimes we can easily be swayed by all of the noise.

It we have had an issue for almost half a century and it is finally being dealt with, I'm good with that.

Toni Headen's avatar

Agreed. So many ulterior motives by the financially fortunate. But of course the financially unfortunate will be actually engaged in this “action”. They will be called “casualties” and “troops”. The sound of that has so much less feeling than “beloved son, husband, brother, father etc…”. We have so much that needs to be done here in the USA. Now we can only hope that it will be short and will produce something positive 🙏🏻🤞🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻

Things change and I support this 100%. Not real thrilled about Ukraine’ either but as always the case USA comes through for your freedom.

Joy Metcalf's avatar

It's not what I voted for, either, and I'm baffled why Americans are always so ready to bomb others, run up our debt yet again, and further weaken our already weakened military ability--which shoud be for defense. However, he did change the DOD to Department of War, and maybe that was the most honest thing that's happened so far.

Thank you for the link-this is a wake-up call for me, & a great article by Greenwald.

You have a right to a wrong opinion.

In case you've forgotten what Donald Trump said about war with Iran, just listen to the first five minutes of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qexy770AQVg

Sunday strip memes are awesome this morning! Secretary Rubio is definitely busy- he has to keep up with President Trump; two “energized”, hard working officials. I had to look up Anthropic, & find out who, or what it is. This administration is “Full-steam-ahead” mode.

The “Adult-in-the-Room” is representative of the Dems actions, & I appreciate John Fetterman standing up for his values, & his voice is being heard!

LB (Little Birdie)'s avatar

Unfortunately, Altman's AI has stepped in to fill the void. I, for one, believe that Anthropic (and it's founders) has tried to keep morals in the mix. OpenAI, not so much.

Wondering if anyone else has read Dr. Meryl Nass' substack from yesterday, re: the Iran situation. Jeff Childers of Coffee & Covid had written a very good substack yesterday, explaining the situation & the history leading up to the U.S. attack. Dr. Nass, however, thinks that Jeff Childers has Trump Sycophant Syndrome. I'm trying very hard to understand Dr. Nass' point of view, but my heart is with the Iranian people, who clearly wished to be rid of this tyrant & regime for nearly a half-century. Here is Dr. Nass' substack from yesterday (there was an earlier one with a similar theme)....https://merylnass.substack.com/p/trump-sycophant-syndrome-fake-war?utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email

Joy Metcalf's avatar

You can't understand Dr. Nass' point of view? It seems very clear to me. Maybe you should reread it, because she made many succinct points.

It is not our call to rid Iran or anyone else of their tyrants. That's for THEM to do, just as we did it when King George overstepped his bounds.

Debra Nolasco's avatar

Perhaps American soldiers should not have liberated Nazi concentration camps either? Maybe that should have been for the occupants of the camps to do for themselves. The sad reality is that sometimes it does require an outside force to come to the aid of others. Jeff Childers also made many succinct points. If you have not read it, maybe you should. As an aside, I respect & admire Dr. Nass. We simply have a difference of opinion on this matter.

Joy Metcalf's avatar

Comparing the liberation of NAZI concentration camps and bombing Iran is comparing apples and oranges, and I'm surprised you would even suggest it.

It looks like you and I also have a difference of opinion.

Debra Nolasco's avatar

There are many similarities, in my opinion. Thousands of Iranians are celebrating right now. There is good reason for their celebrations. Please try not to be so condescending. I have not treated you in this manner.

RE the 72 Virginians meme with George Washington: Have you read the Farewell Address lately? I think you should.

Bruce Miller's avatar

Washington warned that the greatest danger to the Union stemmed from the combination of factionalism and external invasion. Washington explained that partisanship “open[ed] the door to foreign influence and corruption” because it weakened voters’ abilities to make reasoned and disinterested choices. Rather than choosing the best men for office, the people would base decisions on “ill-founded jealousies and false alarms,” and so elect those in league with foreign conspirators.

Just as now., where Democrats support our enemies such as Venezuela, Iran and China and are in the pockets of those malign powers. Just as they practice regional factionalism, running bogus sanctuaries that shield the millions they allowed illegally to cross our borders.

Ana González's avatar

I also think that it is time that we start calling them by their real name.

That party has been infiltrated by communists ‼️‼️

Bruce Miller's avatar

As it has been since the Roosevelt Administration. Except nobody wanted to deal with it.

Ana González's avatar

They also shamed McCarthy.

pretty-red, old guy's avatar

thanks for the summary Bruce!

Dan Klein's avatar

Malone's post is about Iran. What do you suppose Washington would think about the US's war on Iran?

Bruce Miller's avatar

Unfortunately, Washington died before the campaign against the Barbary pirates - Islamic slavers and terrorists even then. So we shall never know if his proscription against foreign entanglements extended to supine acceptance of endless attacks against our nation. But I seriously doubt he would have opposed that bloodying of the barbarians of those times.

pretty-red, old guy's avatar

For sure. It was Jefferson who campaign against the Muslim slavers, wasn't it? Another great Founder.

Bruce Miller's avatar

Yes. and fortunately because of the Naval Act of 1794, signed by President George Washington on March 27, 1794, the first six frigates of the United States Navy were built and ready to protect American merchant ships from Barbary pirates, including the storied USS Constitution.. This act officially established the U.S. Navy, addressing threats to commerce and marking a major shift in national defense policy. Which leads me to believe that Washington would have endorsed the campaign against the Barbary Pirates had he been alive. The predecessors of the Tehranian terrorists of today.
