Anyone else tired yet of hyperventilating media TDSers ?

ROFL........................so much fun :)

The same group that opposes forest/timber management.

The newest hyperventilation is how childish Trump was to rename Lake Ontario to Lake America. I’ve seen long time Republicans calling Trump an imbecile, Canada is our best ally! I just straightened out a good friend with facts. We have a 65 billion trade deficit with Canada. Trump wants to change that to help Americans. Canada has formed an alliance with China, my friend did you know that? Did you know they are importing Chinese inferior steel and selling it across the border to American companies stamping it as Canadian? Boy that got her hopping mad, dadgum I see why Trump is messing with their minds! Good for him! I rest my case.

CANADA, specifically Ontario does NOT own that lake. It was there before Canada decided to claim the property on which it exists. Oh, you probably, GMoody believe anyone who identifies as a Republican is bad.

GMoody's avatar

I love Trump, voted for him 3 times. I am a staunch Republican. I had to explain to another Republican why Trump has to mess with Carney’s head as he’s attempting to get a better trade deal. Maybe you misunderstood my post.

Joy Metcalf's avatar

Neither do we. And what was its name before Canada claimed it? And if it's Canada's property, why can't they name it what they want?

Joy Metcalf's avatar

Sorry, I don't think there's any reason to change the name of lakes and bays that have had those names for decades. Changing the names is pointless. It is just Trump's way of making sure his name is in the history books. It's childish at best, and narcissistic at worst. He's done a lot of good things but renaming the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Ontario are not among them.

And exactly what does importing Chinese steel and selling it to American companies that ought to know better have to do with changing Lake Ontario's name? Your case is founded on nonsequeturs.

Trump is working on displaying one upmanship across the world. I understand why he needs to control this hemisphere and if that means renaming a body of water like Obama did with Mount McKinley and other presidents have also done I don’t see the problem. But, I’m a Trump supporter, I see all that he’s attempting to accomplish for Americans and how many people want to hate him. So, I give him some slack, he’s got millions of haters against him and they also hate Americans that voted for him.

Joy Metcalf's avatar

In Alaska, it's still Denali, and not Mount McKinley; so much for changing names. I don't care what Trump calls it, it's still Lake Ontario and Gulf of Mexico to me. I am not wildly opposed to Trump, and I voted for him, but one-upsmanship doesn't belong in the White House.

May I suggest that you try looking at the bigger picture? And research some history other than the public school books.

I’d like to see your post about the hundreds of name changes in the previous administration

Greetings from the Thumb Coast, Michigan! A mark of a thoughtful arborist is to remove dying and dead trees in order that the remining trees have a good chance at a longer life! It is so tiresome to read of the constant nit-picking of any action or activity the current administration embarks upon! It is " " if it does and " " if it doesn't-to coin a phrase!

Can attest to the, fact, trees die. Our oaks are being destroyed by disease and drought. We should impeach Abbott?

Joy Metcalf's avatar

I've watched in sorrow as several of the trees along the road that I live next to were taken down. They were all old and some of them hollow but they had the most delicious oyster mushrooms growing from them every November. Still, they did need to come down Dead trees are dangerous trees.

Maybe I will post some amazing tree which was cut down on the G.W Parkway..

this Mt Vernon area has huge trees.. and I was not sad.. I was amazed. the interior of the core of the tree and I don't know the species.. was rotten. I counted the rings.. about 300 years old. I am sure the wood was put to good use.. that is true "sustainable" recycling.. not the FAKE tree hugging and "snail darter".. stuff.

If I can find it now I will on the chat. I have do a couple more things .. as always before it gets dark.. always one more thing . .you know how it is.. :)

Trump should import Godzilla from Japan to clear-cut all of Washington, D.C.

Even if TDSrs were privy to the intricacies of the tree removal, they STILL would blame Trump for something……..maybe the weather? ;-) Sad that so many blockheads are upset over cut trees and yet quiet as mice while Communism openly inserts itself into our government! Hey Democrats!! You should be more concerned over the Communists in your party and in your politics!!! We only hear crickets while the Commies over-shout your leadership……. :-(

Thanks for another interesting and concise description of the ridiculousness we all have to contend with daily. Unrelated to this - thank you SO MUCH for the update and good news about Cara and her filly. A great relief!

I’m so happy I’m not on social media. I’ve had such a relaxing Sunday and had no idea about any of this. I’m none the wiser for knowing now and I got a chuckle over the issues people lose their minds over anymore. Back to my nap

Since ratings of mainstream media are in the toilet, I hope most people see through these tiresome lies. That’s why I refer to it as “Pravda” (ironically meaning “truth”), the Soviet newspaper that Russians ignored everything in it but the sports scores.

Once someone starts calling me a fraud and other names (unethical, authoritarian) in my own comments section, then they have broken major community rules. TV has been banned permanently from making comments..

BTW- it has been years since I have had to take this action. I usually let things slide, and have with this individual many times. Not this time.
