In the mid 1950's the husband of a high school classmate was assigned to Fort Detrick as his first and only duty station after being drafted and completing basic training. His young wife accompanied him to Fort Detrick. Her version of their experience during his assignment was interesting, and most unusual. Her husband's colleagues - all young men in their prime; most married to women who were young and reported every sign of fertility through regular menses. Oddly, not one couple conceived throughout the duration of the assignment, which as I recall was three years. Returning home after his discharge, it was 18 months later before she conceived. A live birth, followed by 4 more within 10years. Her pregnancy and those of the other young wives was eerily similar - neither pregnancies nor conceptions nor miscarriages - during the assignment years for any couple at Fort Detrick. Seventy years ago, what were the young men doing that - in all probability -rendered them temporarily sterile? Way back then, we believed, did what we were told, asked no questions - innocence personified! It took seven decades to be alert to the subtle shifts! Slainte!

My test was to evaluate the effects of different levels of Atropine on pilots flying in a simulator.
I suspect that they wanted to test how much a pilot could endure before he loses control of the airplane If he is wounded.

Our "civil"ization has become so large and immoral that this type of circumstance will be next to impossible to control. Even with the best intentions of J. Bhattacharya and RFK JR. and a few honest others, this whole list of issues in the world feels like death row. Sorry to be such a downer, but day after day another MAJOR problem arises. Today I'm not feeling very hopeful, and yet I so appreciate the valiant effort of the brave few.

The good news in this is that it demonstrates what we have long known or suspected - virtually every aspect of high tech, whether biological, defense , A.I., robotics, etc. is seriously compromised by human error. Who would have thunk? It turns out that anything humans lay a hand on becomes subject to our imperfections, notwithstanding the songs of praise being sung.
Yes, this imperils our world, but it also shows that the technocrats who wish to enslave us with their gadgets have yet to figure out how to bypass human limitations. We've seen it in countless sci-fi superhero movies. The villains always overestimates their powers and they are brought down by hubris. It will likely be ugly, as it usually is, but the decline and fall of those aspiring to Promethean goals will be unavoidable. The main question is how great will the blast damage be.
Interesting about that waste water sterilization business. Worked in what probably would be called a P3 containment lab in the Air Force. All the lab drains fed into a huge tank where it was steam killed overnight. Was my job, being the lowest bean on that beanpole, to go down there every morning and drain the tank. Seemed like a pretty good, and rather simple arrangement. Hmmm.

There must be a company requirement and a DoD requirement that a “Serious Incident Report” (“SIR”) is done when there is an incident like this. That is normal in corporations.
The DoD must have such a requirement for its contractors. If so, the contractor must be required to provide all SIRS to DoD. Is there not a Contract Monitor for this contract?
Then there is the insurance company. The contractor has a liability policy. Insurance companies require the insureds to report incidents within 24 hours.
There must be reports out there.
My personal suspicion is the government, as contractor, has ways to keep unacceptable events under cover. Maybe, in house coverages of damages?
