There is an old saying that was first applied to marriage, to wit: “what is argued about is not the issue”. There has never been a national argument over a Surgeon General nominee since the position was created in 1870. Quite the contrary. Most Americans could not name a SG, past or present. But what happened to America, to Americans, and to the world beginning in 2020 was, and I will not insert the word arguably here, the greatest crime against humanity ever committed. And it is still going on. And there is no accounting of it and no accountability for it. Covid jabs are still being pushed on children and the elderly - on these two groups in particular, mostly silently. This is happening mostly outside of and hidden from public scrutiny, hidden from the kind of daily monitoring that used to set off alarm bells over things like the death toll in Vietnam since yesterday, the dangers of thalidomide to pregnant women and babies, or to the fact that saccharine, an artificial sweetener, became the first food substance ever to be banned by the US Congress(right or wrong), just to name a few of the humanitarian causes carried assiduously by the Fourth Estate. What now? Americans in particular are starting to sense that we live in a manufactured reality, and we live there alone. That there is little or nothing that can be trusted in the public sphere. We are fast learning the real meaning of the considerate Fourth Estate, perhaps for the first time. All institutions, even the church, have failed us. So there is this groping about, this throwing of rocks while blindfolded, this seeking to bring down the edifice with only the weapons of hand to hand combat, which is all we have. So until the edifice is brought down, until there is an accounting and accountability, there will continue to be arguments over the likes of Casey Means. After all, what are we left with when all trust is gone and the center no longer holds? We are left with anxiety, fear, shock, disappointment, and the rocks at our feet.

I think the people braying the loudest about Means need to look around for people still in power that clearly are opposed to any part of the MAGA/MAHA agenda, say Senator Bill Cassidy, an MD that still loves the COVID jabs and isn’t shy about saying so. If you really need to bray at someone to express your frustration, direct it at Bill.
It should be more than obvious by now that most vaccines ought to be on their way out. Instead we should be focusing on improved antibiotic and virucide technology. Like many others, I was initially impressed with the Means siblings when I heard the interview they did with Tucker Carlson. But as time went on, and especially after I read "Good Energy" (which frankly left me feeling very unsettled) I, too, started to wonder just exactly WHO these people are and, more importantly, WHO is behind them. These are questions worth asking and I hope that we can get honest answers!
Always good and so needed are balanced, objective analysis. I haven't had time or opportunity to read the Good Energy book nor was I that familiar with the Means but I'm certainly looking now. I won't pass judgement but sure appreciate any/all discussions and extra information to further my education. We must all work for the best outcome on this most important topic. Dr. Malone is correct, fractioning our objective works for the opposition and ego should not be in the equation but reasoning out the topic is always for the best.

Why would a person appointed to the position of SURGEON General of the entire UNITED STATES be one who never even obtained residency, treated another human being much less not being a surgeon or specialist of advanced doctor of SOME kind?! This is just as ludicrous as appointing judges who are not even lawyers?!
I also deeply admire Dr. Bhattacharya & actually signed the Great Barrington Declaration as a concerned citizen. Where I disagree is continuing to recommend the mRNA genetic injections for senior citizens. These products not only do not keep anyone from becoming infected, or transmitting covid, but among those who keep getting boosters, they are more likely to become infected. A recent example of this is of a friend whose elder sister was in the hospital for something unrelated to covid. She needed to be transferred to a nursing home/rehab facility, but the hospital was unable to transfer her as the nursing home/rehab facility was filled with covid. You can be reasonably sure that the majority of these patients have had multiple covid injections. You can also be reasonably sure that if this is true at this particular nursing home/rehab facility, that it is likely true of many others. Further, covid has been a treatable infection from the beginning with medications such as HCQ & IVM among others, so there was never any need for an EUA for a poorly tested, experimental product in the first place. Anyone who is still recommending them after all of the reported harm & associated deaths, needs to re-think their positions.

Given Dr. Bhattacharya's position on the jabs, I was not in favor of his nomination for director of the NIH. My admiration for him was early-on, as a creator of the Great Barrington Declaration. I was actually not in favor of any of the nominees, including Drs. Oz & Makary, who got on-board with many of the ill-considered covid policies, including the jabs. I give a great deal of credit to Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, whose wisdom & advise I listened to & followed closely from the beginning. I also spent a great deal of time doing my own due diligence, which even highly credentialed physicians obviously failed to do. It was & continues to be a huge eye-opening experience for me, as far as whom I could trust. I keep a list of those whom I consider trustworthy close at hand & it is from them that I seek information. It was & is a very carefully curated list.
Anyone who promoted the jabs is not to be trusted. Qualified people should have known better. It was worth noting in October of 2020, the qualifications of these eminent people promoting this world wide petition. The Barrington Declaration (BD) was written 4th october 2020, by which time, it was well declared the race was on for an mRNA jab to save the world from massive fatalities.
Given what was published and in the public domain about the utter failures of previous mRNA trials, one would think such illustrious academics would have known of the dangers of mRNA Experimental Gene Technology.
Surely these people knew "Experimental Gene Technology" was the legitimate name of these injections prior to (mind-messingly) mislabelling them as "vaccines". Relabelling the Experimental Gene Technology to a more familiar, gran'ma term, which the broader populace held in such high regard, was a massive mental coup in and of itself. Hence the subtle promotion of the (yet to be released Experimental Gene Technology) vaccine as mitigating Covid, deftly placed in that declaration precluded me from signing it. How could this lot be so blind to the damage of any upcoming 'vaccine'? Why they embed any mention of a 'vaccine' in that message was most curious.
Doctors, scientists - everyone in and around the medical field should have know this injection was going to knock people over like never before.
Why the heck did these well qualified people defer to it as having ANY kind of benefit whatsoever when it should have been obvious to them the new injection to be released would do the opposite?

I understand your many objections, as I too have shared all of them. In fact, it was known by the spring of 2020, that the survival rate exceeded 99% for covid & even for those 70+ years of age, the survival rate was 94.5%. It was also known early-on that hydroxychloroquine, combined with zinc & azithromycin effectively treated covid when taken within the first 5-days of symptom onset. In fact, in the August 2005 issue of Virology, a journal put out by the NIH, is an article which states that 'HCQ is a Potent Inhibitor of Corona Viruses'. Obviously, Fauci knew this. It was also known early-on that anyone who had less than optimal Vitamin-D levels had worse outcomes, which is why so many morbidly obese people suffered. Vitamin-D becomes sequestered in their fat & is useless to them. Yet not a peep about the importance of Vitamin-D from our federal health officials. It became very apparent early-on, from every measure that was implemented, that western governments everywhere were assisting in people's demise, rather than helping them. Certainly, the creators of The Great Barrington Declaration were aware of much of this. My sense is that they were proceeding from a position of pragmatism, which required them to "deal with things sensibly & realistically, in a way that is based on practical rather than theoretical considerations". They too, were facing an avalanche of push-back, unlike anything anyone had ever seen. I too hold in my greatest esteem those doctors & scientists who, in spite of the repercussions they suffered, refused to go along with any of the blatant disregard for human life, & offered early out-patient treatment. My foray into this nightmare of a situation began in March of 2020, when I began researching Fauci's professional history & realized that he was using the same playbook as he did with AIDS patients in the 1980s, when he not only denied them the use of an inexpensive, widely available antibiotic (Bactrim) to treat a very specific form of pneumonia (pneumocystis carinii). As a result, an estimated 17,000 AIDS patients died needlessly. He simultaneously pushed the failed cancer drug AZT on these poor patients, further sickening & killing them. So basically, in the spring of 2020, I had Fauci's number & disregarded anything that further came from him & his minions regarding COVID. Further, when one of the doctors offering early out-patient treatment for covid, who had a remarkable degree of success, attempted to have a conversation with Fauci, he had zero interest in talking with him. That doctor's name is George Fareed, MD who practices medicine in the Imperial Valley, CA along with his colleague, Dr. Brian Tyson. In fact, when they had successfully treated approximately 7,000 patients with their protocols, they wrote a book (which I read) titled, "Overcoming the Covid Darkness". It can be found on Amazon. Since its publication, the number of patients they have successfully treated is 20,000+.
Question. How could she be anywhere near as bad as what she is to replace? Use that as a metric. I personally have had little regard for our surgeon general ever since bush failed to appoint Dr. Red Duke to the position.

For me the bottom line is the outrage of so many voices in the 'medical freedom movement' (names we see often on Twitter, Substack, and making the rounds of big podcasts like Tucker and Rogan, is serving no one. Recognize a bot swarm for what it is. When you’re over the target the incoming flak is fast and furious. In the case of Dr. Casey Means, in terms of our support, I think we may have to place all of what we previously knew & all of what we have recently learned (from Naomi Wolf's article & other sources) on the scales of balance & see if the scales tip more favorably in one direction or the other. Naturally, a lot of this controversy will come out during the confirmation process, but in the interim, it may be best to weigh everything carefully before casting any aspersions or fully endorsing her for Surgeon General. Personally, I hesitate to jump to any conclusions at this point. There is far too much to take into consideration.

I think the 'shooting star' aspect of the Means siblings is not suspect given their intelligence, success and the fact that they wrote a timely book. I also believe since humans are highly competitive creatures, an expedient rise to fame and power provokes unconscious or even conscious envy in the King's court. I put no store in Ms. Shanahan's criticism because she did not address the issue with RFK. Jr. directly. Also, Loomer is engaged in a smear campaign, and some of her comments have the vibe of the town gossip, making relatively benign details seem nefarious. I read Naomi's article but unfortunately, I don't fully understand the big surveillance threat Casey presents, and that is due to my own lack of education on the whole subject. So many medical freedom advocates are jumping out of their skins to have mRNA taken off the market but are not as forceful when it comes to the childhood vaccine requirements. It is more important to stop mandates. It will take time to prove to those in power that the shots need to be withdrawn. I would prioritize withdrawing school vaccine mandates over withdrawing the availability of covid shots, in other words informed consent is pivotal. Also, get rid of conflicts of interest between Pharma and government, otherwise very difficult to take them off market or remove the 1986 liability free act. Alternative media voices with almost religious fervor are fixating on who their audience should view as controlled opposition or hero. There is no sure way to know Casey Means intent, but I support her message. An overarching goal for all of us, could be to work to destroy conflicts of interest and put in place strong laws to protect every individual's biometric data from being sold or used to exploit.
As far as Levels is concerned there were 6 co-founders and Casey is Chief Medical Officer which is not the driving force position in the company. I also deeply admire Dr. Bhattacharya & actually signed the Great Barrington Declaration as a concerned citizen. Where I disagree is continuing to recommend the mRNA genetic injections for senior citizens. These products not only do not keep anyone from becoming infected, or transmitting covid, but among those who keep getting boosters, they are more likely to become infected. A recent example of this is of a friend whose elder sister was in the hospital for something unrelated to covid. She needed to be transferred to a nursing home/rehab facility, but the hospital was unable to transfer her as the nursing home/rehab facility was filled with covid. You can be reasonably sure that the majority of these patients have had multiple covid injections. You can also be reasonably sure that if this is true at this particular nursing home/rehab facility, that it is likely true of many others. Further, covid has been a treatable infection from the beginning with medications such as HCQ & IVM among others, so there was never any need for an EUA for a poorly tested, experimental product in the first place. Anyone who is still recommending them after all of the reported harm & associated deaths, needs to re-think their positions.

Dr Battacharya came to Australia and was interviewed with Dr Gigi Foster PhD. God bless that lady, she "carried" Dr Battacharya on her back through the entire interview. He was given plenty of opportunity to speak out frankly, yet he remained evasive with his replies. What a lost opprotunity! It was hugely disappointing that he just would not speak out in any way against the jabs. Trust Battacharya? Not as far as I could throw him. Many self respecting physicians and scientists DID walk away from their positions and spoke out. God Bless every one of them. If the animals died following mRNA jabs during the trials, why wouldn't humans die?
Far too many dead and injured over the last four years — yet Dr Battacharya STILL promotes mRNA injections for the elderley and other high risk persons? How does that man sleep at night?!
Given Dr. Bhattacharya's position on the jabs, I was not in favor of his nomination for director of the NIH. My admiration for him was early-on, as a creator of the Great Barrington Declaration. I was actually not in favor of any of the nominees, including Drs. Oz & Makary, who got on-board with many of the ill-considered covid policies, including the jabs. I give a great deal of credit to Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, whose wisdom & advise I listened to & followed closely from the beginning. I also spent a great deal of time doing my own due diligence, which even highly credentialed physicians obviously failed to do. It was & continues to be a huge eye-opening experience for me, as far as whom I could trust. I keep a list of those whom I consider trustworthy close at hand & it is from them that I seek information. It was & is a very carefully curated list.
Anyone who promoted the jabs is not to be trusted. Qualified people should have known better. It was worth noting in October of 2020, the qualifications of these eminent people promoting this world wide petition. The Barrington Declaration (BD) was written 4th october 2020, by which time, it was well declared the race was on for an mRNA jab to save the world from massive fatalities.
Given what was published and in the public domain about the utter failures of previous mRNA trials, one would think such illustrious academics would have known of the dangers of mRNA Experimental Gene Technology.
Surely these people knew "Experimental Gene Technology" was the legitimate name of these injections prior to (mind-messingly) mislabelling them as "vaccines". Relabelling the Experimental Gene Technology to a more familiar, gran'ma term, which the broader populace held in such high regard, was a massive mental coup in and of itself. Hence the subtle promotion of the (yet to be released Experimental Gene Technology) vaccine as mitigating Covid, deftly placed in that declaration precluded me from signing it. How could this lot be so blind to the damage of any upcoming 'vaccine'? Why they embed any mention of a 'vaccine' in that message was most curious.
Doctors, scientists - everyone in and around the medical field should have know this injection was going to knock people over like never before.
Why the heck did these well qualified people defer to it as having ANY kind of benefit whatsoever when it should have been obvious to them the new injection to be released would do the opposite?
It took only a little time to research mRNA and what was potentially going to be driven into children's and grandchildren's - much less one's own arms.
It was so easy to research back at that time; many links were removed since 2023.
RE: Lockdowns - the fact that this would have damaged individuals should have been obvious to all and sundry, and SHOULD have been a red flag to most that this was initiated to cause DELIBERATE damage.
Nothing damaged health more before the vaccines, than Public Health Departments, striking terror into the hearts of the world populations.
High cortisol making everyone vulnerable to infection; limit Vitamin D by making them stay indoors. A trifecta of government driven damage; the world's population driven into madness through terror. Edward Bernays would be so proud.

5th paragraph of BD: " the point at which the rate of new infections is stable – and that this can be assisted by (but is not dependent upon) a vaccine. "
It was known that real infection rates were low. High cycle threshold (inappropriate) PCRs causing inflated "cases" were used to keep terror high.
Many died from hospital proctocols; a) ventilators b) antivirals, and c) concurrent bacterial pneumonia being DENIED antibiotics - all conveniently chalked up to Covid19 killing them.
The accelerated time in which this saviour mRNA was being procured, had not / could NOT, have had safety adequately measured........
With what was known and could be easily sourced by October 2020, conflating the "open up" message in the BD, while surreptitiously promoting the (new-coming hopeful) 'vaccines' at all in this message, made NO sense at all. In fact, it seemed clear to many of us, those who wrote that declaration were not to be trusted at all, therefore did not sign it.
I understand your many objections, as I too have shared all of them. In fact, it was known by the spring of 2020, that the survival rate exceeded 99% for covid & even for those 70+ years of age, the survival rate was 94.5%. It was also known early-on that hydroxychloroquine, combined with zinc & azithromycin effectively treated covid when taken within the first 5-days of symptom onset. In fact, in the August 2005 issue of Virology, a journal put out by the NIH, is an article which states that 'HCQ is a Potent Inhibitor of Corona Viruses'. Obviously, Fauci knew this. It was also known early-on that anyone who had less than optimal Vitamin-D levels had worse outcomes, which is why so many morbidly obese people suffered. Vitamin-D becomes sequestered in their fat & is useless to them. Yet not a peep about the importance of Vitamin-D from our federal health officials. It became very apparent early-on, from every measure that was implemented, that western governments everywhere were assisting in people's demise, rather than helping them. Certainly, the creators of The Great Barrington Declaration were aware of much of this. My sense is that they were proceeding from a position of pragmatism, which required them to "deal with things sensibly & realistically, in a way that is based on practical rather than theoretical considerations". They too, were facing an avalanche of push-back, unlike anything anyone had ever seen. I too hold in my greatest esteem those doctors & scientists who, in spite of the repercussions they suffered, refused to go along with any of the blatant disregard for human life, & offered early out-patient treatment. My foray into this nightmare of a situation began in March of 2020, when I began researching Fauci's professional history & realized that he was using the same playbook as he did with AIDS patients in the 1980s, when he not only denied them the use of an inexpensive, widely available antibiotic (Bactrim) to treat a very specific form of pneumonia (pneumocystis carinii). As a result, an estimated 17,000 AIDS patients died needlessly. He simultaneously pushed the failed cancer drug AZT on these poor patients, further sickening & killing them. So basically, in the spring of 2020, I had Fauci's number & disregarded anything that further came from him & his minions regarding COVID. Further, when one of the doctors offering early out-patient treatment for covid, who had a remarkable degree of success, attempted to have a conversation with Fauci, he had zero interest in talking with him. That doctor's name is George Fareed, MD who practices medicine in the Imperial Valley, CA along with his colleague, Dr. Brian Tyson. In fact, when they had successfully treated approximately 7,000 patients with their protocols, they wrote a book (which I read) titled, "Overcoming the Covid Darkness". It can be found on Amazon. Since its publication, the number of patients they have successfully treated is 20,000+.

This seems to be analogous to the difference between a republic and a democracy. We have a wonderful HHS Secretary. Let's let him do his job, trust his judgment and realize that the forces of darkness will do everything they can to upend a threat to their gravy train.
Naturally, MDBreathe and Kruse are very opposed to the Means nomination, and for me, that actually promotes Means as a viable, even excellent candidate. Many people operate in a closed system, with added complications of strong ego - many allopathic doctors seem to be in that group. I wonder if some of the outrage is that she got nominated and "I didn't". Arguments that she didn't complete her residency and is no longer a licensed physician tell me that the arguer is largely coming from a position of closed-system ignorance and ego. Just the fact alone that there is no way a Surgeon General nominee would be approved if he/she were known "anti-vaxxers", so the anti-Means coalition is DOA, period, end of story. Again, ignorant and ego-fueled, not smart, not wise. I've seen Wolf act like a fool too, and it hurts that Nicole has jumped in with her "feelings", as I thought she was too bright to argue from such a quicksand position. Again, ego and ignorance. Not very wise or smart people in my view in the anti-Means cohort.

For me the bottom line is the outrage of so many voices in the 'medical freedom movement' (names we see often on Twitter, Substack, and making the rounds of big podcasts like Tucker and Rogan, is serving no one. I mean NO ONE. Their ire and chest beating is creating a fracture in the populace who support President Trump, the MAGA movement and MAHA. That to me is short-sighted and selfish and it smacks of ego....their feelings are hurt. In the mean time, the left is gleeful. Big sigh.....
Thank you for your balanced and thoughtful essay. IMO Casey Means is being unfairly demonized by individuals who have forgotten that there is no “I” in team. That does damage to the MAHA movement. Dr. Means will be beaten up badly enough in her confirmation hearing. Enough with the temper tantrums from those who insist they must have their way. They diminish themselves, not Dr. Means. Recognize a bot swarm for what it is. When you’re over the target the incoming flak is fast and furious. I believe that President Trump has made an excellent choice in nominating Dr. Means and that he should be given the cabinet he was elected to form and put to task.
Anti-Maha is alive and active! Dr. Means should be compared to the previous SG's that gave only lip service to their position to guide Americans to a healthier life style. Dr. Means views on nutrition and etc. are the positives that should be known to all.
In the case of Dr. Casey Means, in terms of our support, I think we may have to place all of what we previously knew & all of what we have recently learned (from Naomi Wolf's article & other sources) on the scales of balance & see if the scales tip more favorably in one direction or the other. Naturally, a lot of this controversy will come out during the confirmation process, but in the interim, it may be best to weigh everything carefully before casting any aspersions or fully endorsing her for Surgeon General. Personally, I hesitate to jump to any conclusions at this point. There is far too much to take into consideration.

Thank you for articulating what I have been unable to do for myself. I think the 'shooting star' aspect of the Means siblings is not suspect given their intelligence, success and the fact that they wrote a timely book. I also believe since humans are highly competitive creatures, an expedient rise to fame and power provokes unconscious or even conscious envy in the King's court. I put no store in Ms. Shanahan's criticism because she did not address the issue with RFK. Jr. directly. Also, Loomer is engaged in a smear campaign, and some of her comments have the vibe of the town gossip, making relatively benign details seem nefarious. I read Naomi's article but unfortunately, I don't fully understand the big surveillance threat Casey presents, and that is due to my own lack of education on the whole subject. So many medical freedom advocates are jumping out of their skins to have mRNA taken off the market but are not as forceful when it comes to the childhood vaccine requirements. It is more important to stop mandates. It will take time to prove to those in power that the shots need to be withdrawn. I would prioritize withdrawing school vaccine mandates over withdrawing the availability of covid shots, in other words informed consent is pivotal. Also, get rid of conflicts of interest between Pharma and government, otherwise very difficult to take them off market or remove the 1986 liability free act. Alternative media voices with almost religious fervor are fixating on who their audience should view as controlled opposition or hero. There is no sure way to know Casey Means intent, but I support her message. An overarching goal for all of us, could be to work to destroy conflicts of interest and put in place strong laws to protect every individual's biometric data from being sold or used to exploit.

As far as Levels is concerned there were 6 co-founders and Casey is Chief Medical Officer which is not the driving force position in the company. There have been investment rounds since 2021 all at higher share prices. These involve dozens of VCs and investors. I’d be surprised if the broligarch allegations stood up to scrutiny.
