Why does it seem all we get from democrats in the congress is shutdowns, obstruction, coverups, lies, theft, corruption, and the talk of impeachment, assassinations and or civil war. What happened to solutions, common ground, fixing things that are broken, helping citizens that need help, lowering prices, helping to cut inflation, working to create jobs for Americans, making things better for the next generation. Is it me, or are they more interested in fighting Trump than doing what they were elected to do and just do their dam job. If all they do Is run a campaign to hate and get rid of Trump does that help America? Is that a winning strategy for democrats? Because that’s all I see them doing. J.Goodrich

James, you cannot garner political power for yourself or your party unless you demonize those who are not you. There is too much danger in cooperating, working together to, dare I say it, Make America Great Again that voters might like the other guy more cause s/he talks better (or in my case, has a nice, uh, silhouette 😉 ). The other danger is that if you cooperate/work together then you can’t demonize the "others" ‘cause you’re, well, kind’a the same.

But you knew that, eh 😊

James Goodrich's avatar

What is the job of the congress, to create civil war? It seems the republicans signed 13 CR’s when Biden was president. The republicans are always reactive to the democrats. Now I’m not saying I agree with that, I’m saying the majority of Americans don’t want this bullshit that could very well lead to more assassinations, division, and God forbid a civil war. Not long ago I never would have thought this could happen. Today these democrats are pushing this and this is destroying America which I know you know. Where will it end is what I’m not exactly sure of.

Expand full comment
SR Miller's avatar

Yeah, that IS the question.

I have thoughts, some are part of a (series) a story I’d like to tell, too much for this forum. However, the dems quest for power, to eliminate their opposition at seemingly all/any costs, disagreement with our foundational arguments - will only lead to an outcome in which they lose just as everyone else loses.

I know there are plenty of people who think the answer is political, that this foundering ship can be righted and turned around, I think such a result is only possible if re-internalize the thoughts of one of our founders: America can only exist when its people are moral and religious. That is, they have a shared morality based upon Christian beliefs. In other words, God will need to intervene.

What the heck, James. They're doing a great job of creating lots of noise to make themselves sound important or shift focus from their dirty deeds, full of wonderful double entendre answers all wrapped up in a pretty package intended to exploit fools. I think many of them feel totally justified in doing so. According to all their rhetoric, they Are doing all those things. And making foolish people believe they are.

I see Dems high fiving each other every day. It's Trump, Trump, Trump standing in the way.

For me, it's not so much seeing the politicians be corrupt, I have come to expect that. It's seeing the number of people who will eat up that C***.

James, I know you know, but I’m just stating publicly what we both know about the Democrats.

Read the DNC Platform—it’s devoid of God, and full of destructive, degenerate, lawless, anti-God and anti-American policies. That’s what they are interested in.

Democrats support, promote, and celebrate the largest abortion mill in America—Planned Parentlesshood. They are obsessed with killing unborn children. See the videos about the DNC Convention.

https://www.nbcchicago.com/dnc-chicago-2024/mobile-clinic-free-abortions-dnc-vasectomies-chicago/3526993/

“ As people from across the country travel to Illinois this week, we are proud to demonstrate what is possible when POLICIES truly support accessible reproductive health care," said Dr. Colleen McNicholas, chief medical officer of Planned Parenthood Great Rivers, in a statement.” (Emphasis is mine)

I know CQL. It gets to me that there’s never a thought to make anything better. Everything is about division. Not one solution to anything. Not one positive statement on any problem this country faces, and there’s thousands of them. And you’re 1000% right when it comes to abortion, their solution is to kill the unborn. It’s another evil misleading word game, planned parenthood. The more they lose on the stage of ideas the more violent and destructive they become.

Is there even a shred of integrity left in our government? As I’m sure most of you know Stacey Plaskett is an attorney that won election to be a house member from the Virgin Islands. Ironically Jeffrey Epstein’s islands Little St. James and Great St. James are part of the Virgin Islands so I guess you would say Epstein was in her district. Well you know the story, while Michael Cohen was being questioned by the house Stacy Plaskett was texting back and forth with Jeffrey Epstein to try and extract information too get Trump, after all isn’t that what all democrats do? Well they wanted to censure Plaskett for the despicable act of texting back and forth with a convicted child molester, seems legitimate. Well on the other side of the isle Republican congressman Corey Mills had a restraining order placed against him allegedly for blackmailing his former Ms. USA girlfriend saying you either stay with me or I will post nude videos of you on the internet, nice isn’t it? Censure is basically a slap on the wrist. You may be removed from some House committees and it does go on your record but it’s not a personal legal issue. If you did something despicable you deserved it. So house leaders big moral Mike Johnson and minority leader Hakeem Jeffreys cut a deal to not censure either congressperson. In other words you protect our scumbag we’ll protect your scumbag.

Nancy Mace from South Carolina on the House floor asked if a backroom deal had been cut to protect both scumbag reps. Of coarse the question was shot down on a procedural issue, hey you don’t let it out to the peasants what we actually do here to protect fellow scumbag solons. This must stay in house!! I’m surprised they didn’t censure Nancy Mace for asking such an honest upstanding question. This is the bogus problem we have. This is why nothing our out of control evil government ever get really fixed. We have this elite class of government criminals running things and there’s a corrupt Commy red line that no one is to cross. For what these two congresspeople did I personally don’t want either one of them in my house. can you just imagine if Trump was receiving text messages from a convicted pedophile while on the stand or in a meeting, they’d hang him.

Adjacent impact: it’s why crime has soared - w/o phone booths, where does Superman change? Other than the one in Doctor Who (this may be a dated observation), does the phone booth even exist - and that’s just a faux (phaux) booth. In contemporary cinema, when was the last phone booth used as part of the story? Opening scene of The Matrix (1999)?

If we want to Make America Great Again, we need a return of phone booths.

From what I have observed the three peas in the pod realize the right path to making America great again is a return to the fundamental principles of our Republic as framed in our Constitution. What’s so wrong about needing declarations of war before attacking other nations or opposing the continuing resolutions of omnibus spending bills and asking for individual appropriation bills with time to read them before voting on them?

Yes, you speak to a weakness from which our President suffers. When someone has a lot of good ideas, he tends to think that they are all good and anyone who disagrees is guilty of being disloyal. I haven't kept up with MTG's rant, but Massie and Paul have been seen as thorns in his side for a long time when in fact they are men of courage and principle. Chip Roy is also in that category but his TDS is palpable. The $2,000 tariff refund check is a terrible idea when our national debt continues to be out of control. Am I disloyal? No, I have a contrary view, one that should be respected and considered.

When I was born the national debt was $271B; graduated HS, $533B; married, $2,350B; son born, $4,974B; son married, $27,000B; and today we’re at $36,000B on the way to $50,000B by the early 2030s
