I now watch them clear cutting thousand of acres of woodlands to build data centers, solar farms, windmills and gigantic condo/apartment complexes that house over 5,000 people, then Another next to that one, then another…with no infrastructure to support all the traffic and people that are leaving DC and Parts of the northeast because real estate taxes are unaffordable. They’re now making my taxes unaffordable in Albemarle County. I guess I’ll sell for 4 times what I have invested and move to a rural area, grow a garden, raise some chickens.

I had enough of living in Milwaukee in 1974 and moved to South Western Wisconsin, I have lived rural ever since but for 6 months in Fort Lauderdale in 1994 for some continuing education. In 2020 we sold our property and moved to central Wisconsin for our retirement and decrepitude years, but still rural on 2 3/4 acres. No more cities for me.
The best way for that to happen is have mailed delivered to a mail box store (if one is anywhere near where you live), or rent a mailbox at the post office.
I grew up on farmland that was a working farm. When i left my hometown 15 years ago and purchased the home we own now (3 hours from hometown) the homes in our neighborhood all have 1.5 to 2 acres. Lots of deer, bear, fox, birds of all kinds. I was in heaven with woods surrounding us. We still have that but the city folk are encroaching on our serenity and now they’re building a big pharma manufacturing plant only 4 miles up the road from us. Our neighborhood homes values will go up even more in value. So, if I time it right I can sell purchase a plot back home, build the home that’s perfect for retirement pay cash and bank a lot. Their taxes are 1/3 what we’re paying now. I retired in Feb so the time to make the move is coming soon.
I think it is good to try to do our part, even if like me it is just a drop in the bucket. I think you are great and always enjoy seeing my fellow Texan Christian friend here "at the Malones'

When my father came to this country in the 50's he had to have a sponsor vouch for him and have a plan for employment. Things sure have changed.

Do others ever wonder why America has dropped scholastically, mentally, physically and spiritually in the last 75 years? I attribute it to brain damage from the chemicals which people have ingested or have injected into their bodies from toxic food, alcohol, drugs, vaccines, etc. The bloodstream was designed to carry NUTRIENTS to NOURISH the organs, glands and cells in the body to provide health and energy....NOT CHEMICALS or other elements which would harm them.

Oh! I recently had lunch with one of my grandsons. He is a brainiac and we have always hsd great philosophical conversations. The topic was pollution. I told him that when plastic bags were first introduced in grocery stores the mantra was - "Save a tree, use plastic". He nodded like he was connecting some dots.
Now it is don't use plastic bags because we need it for all of our food packaging and wrapping.
Go figure. UGH‼️‼️

This is likely due to the Americans pulling the wagon getting tired so they climbed into the wagon. Sad, but maybe true.
My paternal grandmother raised four sons on her own by cleaning houses after WWII, and during WWII she turned one bedroom into a boarding house and would take cigarettes for trade if they did not have money.
Fast forward to the 80's and the county would drop off government cheese and peanut butter on her front porch. She would call and raise holy hell until someone came to pick it up.
She refused to take a handout for her entire life.
To some extent, I think that people do get tired of being the only ones playing by the rules and yet they're also the only ones paying.
Not to mention that we're just also tired of being lied to by our government.
