"An armed republic submits less easily to the rule of one of its citizens than a republic armed by foreign forces. Rome and Sparta were for many centuries well armed and free. The Swiss are well armed and enjoy great freedom. Among other evils caused by being disarmed, it renders you contemptible. It is not reasonable to suppose that one who is armed will obey willingly one who is unarmed; or that any unarmed man will remain safe among armed servants." - Niccolo Machiavelli, "The Prince" (1532)

When you disarm the people, you commence to offend them and show that you distrust them either through cowardice or lack of confidence, and both of these opinions generate hatred. - Niccolo Machiavelli

Before all else, be armed. - Niccolo Machiavelli

The “under no pretext” quote was not orated by Ronald Reagan. . . . . It was stated by Karl Marx.

Mark's avatar

You had me at MN state bird. Do you know HOW MANY blue haired women look like that in real life? Uncanny.

If you can find a copy read "The Reagan Diaries". Reagan is his own words. Great insight into that era and how bad it was behind the scenes.

And the Epstein cartoon depicting the planet as his island. I know people want perp walks and arrests and to shoot the pedos after a scrupulously fair trial. I get it. I have worked child sex crimes, talked my wife out of outright murder of certain pedophiles (she worked child sex crimes for six years...it takes a toll) and understand the frustration of the seeming lack of movement on the whole of the Epstein data dump.

Never forget that the people on the "list" are the same individuals causing most of the worlds problems. In Police circles the very bad actors would often get arrested for stupid misdemeanors. Once a bad guy is "on paper", this includes court supervision, conditional discharge, pre-trial investigation, out on bond, conditions of bail, etc. re-arresting or adding charges is SO MUCH easier. They always screw up...ALWAYS.

The Brits have apparently started the ball rolling by arresting the now former Prince Andrew. Lets hope that trend continues here and elsewhere.

Micheal Nash, Ph. D.'s avatar

Pedophiles and abusers Remember my dad coming home, with pictures of a kid abused by his parents. Every cop in town was on the hunt for those two and doubt they would have enjoyed their arrest if found judging by his reaction.

From time to time the planets align, conditions are just right and justice is served.

And today, those with political clout and some of the most evil and vile in our society are seemingly protected 🤬

Sonia Nordenson's avatar

Only seemingly . . . and not perpetually.

My waitress at lunch yesterday, clearly had a black eye that was heavily covered with make up. I couldn't help but wonder if she had been abused, looked to be in her 50's, which is a bit old to tolerate that.

Lisa G Anderson's avatar

Dude...I so erected a curtain rod that fell when I put the curtain on it and it hit me square in the eye. Had a black eye for weeks. Man the flack my boyfriend got. He was a trooper tho. Turned it into laughter. Don't assume. :)

Fred's avatar

When women try to hide it with makeup, it means that she doesn’t want to talk about it. That is a red flag for me.

Lisa G Anderson's avatar

I am a singer in a band. I put makeup on too 'cause it looked horrible . Had a lot of folks ask about it to be sure all was good and I appreciated the concern. Ironic thing was that my ex used to beat me and our son a lot when I was much younger and our friends back then were afraid to ask if I/we were okay. Had to put him in jail to escape and go stay hidden after he got out. So trust me I understand. Always reach out and ask.

Jerry Williams's avatar

God Bless You Lisa, my father was a mean drunk and he beat my mother until she finally left him when I was about 7 years old.

He was estranged to me my entire life; I didn't even go to his funeral. I learned early on the warning signs. Thank you.

MANY of the "names" shown on the "List" (Epstein clients) are also members of the Council on Foreign Relations - Who DOMINATE and control not only U.S. foreign policy, but DOMESTIC policy too - by BOTH so-called Republican and so-called Democrat CFR members - who have made one hell of mess of things for WAY over a half century that DGT is trying 24/7/365 to not just STOP, but ELIMINATE and re establish our Constitutional Republic - before it is totally destroyed in the name of the "common good".

When they say "We are not here to be part of America, we are here to take over America." Believe them. That is the history of Islam since the sixth century and accomplished in country after country across most continents. Only coming up against superior forces set them back. Now they have a new way thanks to foolish people with misplaced compassion, welfare, and invitations.

The blue haired Minnesota bird and Ilhan Omar’s meme about Somalians taking over are spot on, sad but true.

The only thing I despise about Minnesota and Minneapolis, is the so called “deescalation” of ICE, as if ICE was the problem—they were NOT the problem.

The problem was the organized obstruction of their activities to protect Minnesota's criminal illegal alien voter base, encouraged by Frey, Walz, and Ellison, and funded by foreign and domestic organizations who want to destroy our Republic. ICE and Border Patrol, was bombarded by military tactics, which followed them, blew whistles in their faces, cursed them, threatened their lives and their families lives, infiltrated and obstructed law enforcement zones, physically assaulted them, had their vehicles rammed—and ICE needed to deescalate? What a twisted and depraved state of mind.

It is far easier to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities, arrest Madura with an overwhelming special forces operation, and soon bomb Iran AGAIN, than it is to rid America of the foreign and domestic enemies that engaged ICE on the streets of America—I am wanting and waiting for arrests of those who funded, organized, and participated, in the insurrection against our Federal Agents—and that INCLUDES Frey, Walz, and Ellison. Until that happens, anarchy rules in America, along with campaign slogans spewed by politicians every 2-4 years.

Question: Does Trump still wear the MAGA hat and say Make America Great Again? Asking for a friend.

One can only hope that POS spends the rest of his natural life behind bars! I’d like to see his former boss there with him, but I know that will never happen.

Sonia Nordenson's avatar

And the reason he'll not be joined by his former boss is that his former boss is no longer with us (to put it delicately).

GMoody's avatar

I was referring to Obama when Brennan was director of the CIA.

Sonia Nordenson's avatar

As was I. If you think you see Obama today, you're seeing a facsimile.

oldguy52's avatar

I would like to see some credible evidence of that.

ComeQuicklyLord's avatar

If that happens, it will be a good day in America—now for the others too.

Diana Woodward's avatar

I cant get over the fraud in MN. They are claiming 1 million dollars in cash was flown out of the MN airport to Somalia, every day for 2 years!! I asked my bank what would it take to get a million dollars in cash from you today, if I had it in a checking account? She laughed, "we don't have that kind of money in house, we would have to order it for you, take a day or two, most likely we would not do it and certainly not every day for two years."

ComeQuicklyLord's avatar

I read that the money was disclosed in their carry on cases with TSA. Because it was declared, they did not stop it, but probably flagged it. It then went to Atlanta then to Somalia and Dubai. That should have triggered a major investigation since Somalian’s are not known to have millions of dollars. Our government failed us…again.

Diana Woodward's avatar

So they had the cash, from what bank? What bank was giving out that much cash every day? It wasn't illegal drug money they were laundering. These were federal payments as auto deposits into their bank; every month.

Waiting for the second coming of Reagan, or at least ALL Presidents and all Residents channeling him. More Reagan, Less all the rest. Sadly, our current president seems to have lost the Reagan way 😥🇺🇸

Bruce Miller's avatar

Trump may not have the charm of Reagan but his love of country and belief in the American people is his equal. And who but Trump today has the self confidence and brains to counter the narrative of the globalist traitors who have hollowed out our land?

Swabbie Robbie's avatar

That is why we elected him 3 times.

Big E's avatar

As we said above, we like much of what Trump is doing. And his courage is unparalleled. But we need some course correction too.

Bruce Miller's avatar

As has been often remarked "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good."

BonnieMae's avatar

I see need for course correction, as well. HOWEVER, the realization that I'm looking at the situation from the perspective of a single citizen, not the leader of the free world, keeps me ftom doing anything but praying that God's will would be done, not my own.

Swabbie Robbie's avatar

Always!. The Reagan statement: "The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things." should always be on the President's desk.

I fear that he has not been as good at reading the room since he is surrounded by so many staff and cabinet members advising him. Probably a problem with all Presidents.

Patricia's avatar

I’m proud of President Trump, & appreciate everything he has accomplished, & he continues to complete before his term is over. He’s definitely a Man for the People, & I see his interaction’s with the public when he is out & about during his travels. He does love “The People”-but, not the “bad ones” that go against him…:)!!

Nemesis45ever's avatar

We need a wrecking ball right now and Trump is completing the 4th turning. Reagan , my very first vote, made mistakes too

Paula Mitchell's avatar

Well, I think he's doing what he feels is best for our country and has his own mind. I'm not privy to all of the information he is so... I don't know his reasons for his actions but I do know he's the best president we've had in a long time maybe ever no one is perfect and no one agrees with everyone 100% of the time try to be patient and keep an open mind after all it's only been a year.

What was your favorite funny today?

Big E's avatar

Been very open minded and was so supportive at first. But Trump's recent backpedaling on glyphosate and vaccines (Moderna flu vax reinstatement apparently was due to White House pressure), some of his appointments to health positions, plus his stance on AI and digital everything have concerned us.

He campaigned with RFK Jr. on some crucially important "MAHA" issues and is rolling many of them back. Supporting the criminals in Big Pharma and making deals with them. He also said no CBDC, but then pushed the GENIUS Act and other related digital surveillance and money legislation.

He's done a great job closing the border and is rolling back some of the stupidity of past presidents. For that, we'll be eternally grateful. But we must get Congress and the Courts to support him too, and he should focus less on international affairs and more on domestic. Doing a deal is his specialty, but his deals aren't always putting America First for the long-run.

Just our opinions above. We aren't on the inside so cannot know what's REALLY happening.

But yes, you're right, he's the best president we've had in a while. We've had some TERRIBLE presidents lately. Overall, Reagan and his philosophies were more in line with ours (except his signature on Childhood Vaccine immunity in 1986; apparently, he was reluctant to do that and should have stood his ground).

Favorite Funnies: All things Reagan, Cow bones on the Moon, Copy/Paste gone wrong.

GMoody's avatar

I would submit Reagan’s signature on the get out of jail free vaccine legislation for big pharma has lead to many issues we see today. How could he have known mankind could be so evil to mandate the numerous childhood vaccines that have hurt our children and to produce viruses for the sole reason to unleash the jabs into billions of human beings’ arms to “save grandma”? What I’ve learned these past few years is to always follow the money, always question media talking heads and government authority. Trump isn’t perfect, but I thank God everyday Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are gone from positions of authority. They would have put the nail in our nation’s coffin. With Trump we have an opportunity to get the ox out of the ditch!

D D's avatar

I so agree Big E, with the observation of the glyphosate and Moderna moves, after all, this is crucial to the health of Our Country.

Joy Metcalf's avatar

I agree. His backpedaling is hurting America. It seems one of his big problems is that he's open to flattery. His ego is too big for the good of the rest of us.

Dolce Far Niente's avatar

You know absolutely nothing about how or why Trump makes the decisions that he does.

To obediently parrot the leftist line that his ego is too big and he's too open to flattery is not only unhelpful (actually trollish), but it's also clearly wrong.

Nobody who is able to be manipulated by flattery or run by his ego manages to be as successful as Trump has been, in business as in politics.

Trump will NEVER satisfy all of the different desires of all hi supporters, whether that's because those desires are impossible to fulfill at the present time, or impossible to fulfill because other issues take precedence, or because some of the things people want are just plain stupid.

You may think YOUR issues are the most important and any failure of Trump's to put that issue front and center is a betrayal, but that's childish.

Accept the fact that it is literally impossible for Trump or any president to please you 100% of the time; if we get 80%, we're doing fabulously well. With Biden and Obama, it was 1%, at best.

Joy Metcalf's avatar

I am not "parroting" any leftist lines. I am making an observation, and one I don't like. I voted for Trump, primarily because of Kennedy, but Trump was more reasoned then and carried the day. I am not asking Trump to satisfy my issues, nor do I believe any President can satisfy everyone.

What I'd like to see is the Democrats not taking over Congress in the next election and until Trump gets his belligerence and his ego out of the way, the chances of that are getting less and less. That will put us back on the road to another Biden-type government.

One last comment. I may not know how or why Trump makes his decisions, but neither do you. I interpret from my point of view, as do we all. And unlike many, I don't spout opinions that others have given me.

Sonia Nordenson's avatar

Without his ego and ability to withstand constant slings and arrows, our nation (and the world) would be sunk.

Paula Mitchell's avatar

I agree with Congress and the courts! It's shameful how many people want our country to fail.

I realize sometimes the art of the deal is compromise, I'm hopeful in the end we'll be in a better place and people will be willing to carry the torch forward towards making America a great place again.

Bruce Hartnett's avatar

What I Posted this morning per Glysophosate, at coffeeandcovid.com, about its good uses in answer to another opinion that it is all bad: 🙏✝️❤️👉👍"...many don't know that it is also used to 'ripen' many grain crops, or in other words kill it all so it is all ready to harvest (increased yields) - but obviously this comes at a huge cost both monetarily and health wise...."

This is the use of Roundup that ends up in the food, and damages our health, etc.!

But, not when used as a "weed" killer, early in the early stages of growth of whatever grain.

Diana Woodward's avatar

I live on big timber acreage, we use glyphosate extensively, never near our garden. We use it on gravel driveways, edging around fences and buildings. We used it to kill grass coming up under our newly planted Doug-fir trees. Grass is the #1 killer of the baby trees, we have to use it.

I serve as a board member on a soil & water conservation district. We use weed killers, some stronger than glyphosate, on problematic weeds on the states and ranchers' lands. All endorsed by ODA ,Oregon Department of Agriculture.

Reagan had his faults, like signing the vaccine liability act. Trump is pushing back against globalism similar to the way Reagan pushed back against the USSR. Reagan did not face the same degree of hate the way Trump has (although both had assassination attempts), and I think that only someone with the ego of Trump could withstand what he has been through. God works in mysterious ways.

Micheal Nash, Ph. D.'s avatar

Taking his own way. May prove to be the best

Big E's avatar

Hope you are right. But even the most ardent supporters of all politicians must not blindly accept everything they do. It's up to each citizen to use critical thinking and push back if something doesn't seem right (after carefully studying the issues from as many angles as possible, of course).

Sonia Nordenson's avatar

It's Reagan, not Trump, who is in Cathy O'Brien's book. And Donald Trump is quite funny, if you listen closely. Just more subtle than Reagan.

Diana Woodward's avatar

Trumps are not memorized jokes, they are very funny and spontaneous.

Thanks for the Friday laughs. We can use them. I particularly liked the Reagan memes and video. He was a favorite of mine. He developed the policies that won the Cold War and eventually took down the Berlin Wall. His one liners were hilarious. The one thing I can point to that I am most unhappy about was that he signed the Childhood Vaccine Liability Act of 1986, protecting the drug companies, but not our children.
