When I heard about the death penalty inmate that survived, Christa Pike, I have to admit I immediately thought there maybe foul play. It’s pretty obvious Christa has some serious mental issues. I think a great solution would be to lock Christa Pike in the same padded room with Lindsey Clancy and let them work things out.

Maybe throw Bryan Kohberger in there too...

ron's avatar

Just give her a couple of street-bought "pain pills," or "xanax," or whatever the fentanyl-overdose kids get...

Joy Metcalf's avatar

?? Was there something in the Friday Funnies about that? Not that I saw!

Dr Linda's avatar

Thanks, I thought I missed it as well. Maybe I did.

Why wasn't there a DNR? They are reporting major efforts to save her? I've been told to get a DNR bracelet. After a major assault what does the future look like?

The Accidental Hoosier's avatar

Wasn't sure if the "what doesn't belong here" photo was legit. I thought maybe the (snarky) answer was a straight white two-parent family with two nice looking kids. You know, the kind of people you never see in commercials anymore.

But then I spotted it.

Patricia's avatar

Oh, I did notice that, but chose the Remote control. My Dad had a TV, built us a stereo with a record player, & I saw the cigarette ashtray on the table- but, the remote stuck out to me. I have noticed TV commercials don’t have the white people in commercials much, if at all.

Kirsten Arbon's avatar

What doesn't belong? Please tell me. 😊

Uncle Mikey's avatar

So happy I nailed that immediately! Unfortunately it also dates me! 😂😂

Kirsten Arbon's avatar

Omgsh! Duh. Thanks so much. It was bugging me.

oldguy52's avatar

Nobody in 1960 had yet seen or even heard of a TV remote control.

Joseph Kaplan's avatar

Well. Not exactly. My father had one. “Will one of you kids get up and change the channel” NOW!

WTPuck's avatar

Change it to one of the 3 channels we had.

Joseph Kaplan's avatar

Right left out that part

Patricia's avatar

That’s funny, but true! :)

Toni Headen's avatar

Your children were the remote control. “While you’re up…..”

I thought it was a cribbage board

Actually, the Wall Street Journal reports that crude oil exports from the Middle East have returned to 98% of prewar levels. The bottleneck to get the prices down at the pump are the twenty refineries that were closed under Biden and Obama, mostly occurring in 2020. The first new refinery in 50 years is now going into construction in Texas. So it might seem ironic that if you want to see lower gas prices you need to vote Republican. Also going forward Iran won’t be able to hold the world hostage by controlling the flow of oil through Hormuz.

beccar1954's avatar

I would add that Trump and his administration are very smart but they aren’t magicians. You can’t solve problems that have roots going back a century in two years. But this is a hard sell in an instant gratification society.

The comment on Worcestershire sauce was pure hyperbole. I’m only 78 and I’m on my third bottle already.

Patricia's avatar

I usually buy two per month of Worcestershire sauce! I use it quite often when cooking, to season many things I cook!

Charles weaver's avatar

I go through dozens of bottles per year. Mix with a little fresh lemon juice and baste almost anything on the grill. Especially wild game.

David Poe's avatar

All Israelis do military service and receive hand to hand combat training.

Fritz Dahmus's avatar

Apparently, I am the sole reason Worcestershire Sauce is still being sold. You're welcome.

Toni Headen's avatar

Since I make our families famous nuts and bolts chex mix each Christmas season I have actually had to purchase more than 1 bottle You’re welcome Lea & Perrins.

Patricia's avatar

Oh, me too, me too!

Firstly, the odd object in that cartoon, is the remote control sitting on the table.

Secondly, I'm not sure what to make of the Iranians trying to partner with the democrats...how could that ever have a good outcome?

Finally, that caravan of Latinos headed to the border ought to be a PSA to help the republicans...I think we've all literally had our fill of illegals...

Happy Friday!

Skai's avatar

The Iranians don't want to partner with the Democrats, they just want Trump out of the picture. They know they'll get their Nuke then because the Democrats hate America so much they'd love to see it vaporized. The just haven't thought of the fact that they would be vaporized with it.

Jerry Williams's avatar

True Skai, they know the sheeple democrats would not dare bomb them while they rebuild, and we switch back to DEI in our military...

I loved the fall surprise in the pocket meme. I found several $100.00 bills in my blazers from the previous year, which taught me to always check the pockets before dry cleaning.

Annette Petrone's avatar

The only thing I ever find is used tissues. 🤭

Toni Headen's avatar

Me too! Occasionally a cough drop!

Joy Metcalf's avatar

I don't think I've ever found one $100 bill in my pocket or my wallet, in the fall or any other time. Lucky you.

robren72's avatar

My dry cleaners found money in the pocket of my wool coat last year...all $8 😁

Doctor, Civics 101: CONGRESS spends money. Not the President.

Joy Metcalf's avatar

And Congress continually funds whatever the President asks for, in every administration. They abdicated their responsibilities long ago.

ron's avatar

Not true at all. E.g., the Save America Act.

Congress does NOT want straight elections!

SDN's avatar

Which is why Trump asked for wall funds and was handed a blank check as soon as he did, right? Don't pretend to be that dumb.

Joy Metcalf's avatar

Actually, you've just made my case. Handing anyone a blank check is an abdication of responsibility. The Constitution says the President is Commander in Chief and that Congress declares war. It does not say that the President can make war without Congress declaring it. The Constitution has been undermined for a long time and Congress is complicit.

Forgive me, but I don't see how being a constitutionalist makes me dumb, and I don't appreciate epithets in any case. You don't have to be rude if you don't agree.

Joy Metcalf's avatar

If it weren't true, we wouldn't have the deficit we have today, nor the Administrative State.

Ross Bausone's avatar

Love them today! I'm on my second bottle of Worcestershire! :)

Remote control does not belong in the picture...

Jerry Williams's avatar

I go through a bottle of Worcestershire sauce about every six months...

Handsome Pristine Patriot's avatar

In the 20 years I've watched the dude, I've learned to never bet against Trump.

He's got quite a team assembled and a lot of these plans have been in the works since before he won the second term.

Our biggest concern is not the price of crude. That is back to pre war levels from the Mideast.

USAmerica's problem is that we have not built a new refinery in 50 years, and most of the ones still in operation work best with the old "sour" crude that has a higher fraction of distillates, (diesel, jet fuel, and kerosene). The fracking boom that has seen the country awash in crude doesn't, for the most part produce that high distillate fraction oil. Venezuela does, and so does Alberta. My bet is that Venezuelan oil will be at a level and delivered price adequate to replace the Alberta crude within no more than 2 years.

WE NEED NEW REFINERIES and much much more natural gas distribution, especially here in the cold Northeast.

Note; The Irving Oil refinery in St.John, NB, that supplies the majority of energy to the Northeast as well as Atlantic Canada imports all its oil from Saudi Arabia. How screwed up is that???

Just imagine where we'd be if we hadn't had 50 years of climate fraud and money laundering going on.

If your tires don’t rotate when the tranny is in D it just mine indicate a mechanical failure.

I remember when I was newly married and my husband asked me to take the rotors to Napa to be turned. I couldn’t remember if he said have the rotors turned or have the turners rotated. After living with my household mechanic for 40+ years I now know all sorts of mechanical terms and how to use them in a sentence!

Wonderful Friday Funnies! I’m not looking forward to November 4th- & the outcome! I fear “those youngster’s” will probably choose a “lie of free stuff”, as the DSA groups spread across our country, & the socialists/communists will take the lead to destroy America. I’m not sure the messaging is getting out across the country, that President Trump has made America Safe again, wealthy again, almost healthy again, but- evidently not fast enough for the impatient youngster’s!

But, one nice thing I noticed this morning in Elizabeth, CO, Safeway lowered regular unleaded to $3.79/gal. Whoop! Whoop! This is down from $4.14 two weeks ago! I can now put $30.00 of gas in my Ford F-150!!! I’m a happy camper!

Happy Fall Y’all. Have a beautiful, DRY weekend! God Bless…:)

The national debt isn’t. Presidential issue and never has been. All congress has to do is vote for a balanced budget amendment. It’s their job and they refuse to do it. They can unfund anything and make it stick

However it won’t happen without term limits. They will be unelectable if they raise tax to fix it , or if they cut the budget to fix it or both. Therefore they do nothing but argue, and vote in more useless legislation.
