There is only one thing to be said for AOC’s membership in Congress and her complete lack of understanding when it comes to the U.S. Constitution and our country’s laws…….

“I am sure she is an EXCELLENT bartender.”

Charles weaver's avatar

I don’t know

A good bartender can carry on a civil conversation with anyone without pissing them off and looking like an ass. That pretty much kills her

Gene's avatar

Her ass is, or was, her only good trait. She is as stupid as they come, so she fits right it with other leftists.

What's confusing to me, Barbara, is that AOC actually has a fairly impressive academic background, if her Wikipedia page is to be believed.

Podium finisher at a 2007 Science and Engineering Fair;

Cum Laude graduate from Boston University, in International Relations and Economics.

I might be impressed, but having heard her speak over the years, I'm more alarmed about who's being cranked out of our university systems.

I watched a video years ago as she discussed how her brother entered her in a contest to be selected for sponsorship by some Democrat socialist group to run for office. She won the contest as they required a speech and promise to take acting classes they provided. They groomed her and paid for political commercials. At that time she acted like what fun to pretend to be someone she wasn’t.

That explains a lot!

I can’t find that video they posted years ago with her talking about how she wasn’t political at all. But, she won the contest that had 10,000 entries. So, she decided to give a try. The rest is history.

She's an idiot who either bought her degree or traded sexual favors for it!

And...... She does resemble the donkey in Shrek! Sorry donkey

Isn't it amazing how people vote for people with the intelligence of a bag of dirt? I find it so sad and frightening at the same time.

Gene's avatar

I doubt that she was any good at that either - being a bartender requires attention to detail, good memory to remember drink ingredients, and being able to hold an intelligent conversation. We know anything requiring thought or use of the mind is beyond her capacity.

Certainly no president in my lifetime has ever had 3 real life assassination attempts on his life. Things in this country have devolved to this point by the hands of the democrats. Their inability to legitimately win elections due to their anti American agenda and their utter defeat in the marketplace of ideas has driven them to promote violence. The Supreme Courts ruling heightens their desperation. They have made assassination common place here in America.

Senator Ed Markey is being primaried by congressman Seth Moulton. Well Ed Markey is to the left of Vladimir Lenon and is endorsed by all the democrat big named communists like Bernie Sanders, AOC, Elizabeth Warren, Zohran Mamdani, etc. So for Seth Moulton to be seen he has to become farther left than Markey if that’s possible. So yesterday after saying he thinks the people who serve in the armed forces are nazi like, even though he once served, and everyone in Trumps administration is a war criminal he called for the “taking out” of Pete Hegseth! This is the depth of immorality and desperation the democrats have devolved to. The crazier you are the better chance you have of being endorsed by “the party”. Just look at democrat Graham Platner running for senate in Maine. A self proclaimed communist with a nazi SS tattoo, they love this guy, highly endorsed!!

Seth Moulton should be investigated and indicted for treason. A sitting member of congress, and there are many just like ole Seth, should not be allowed to call for the assassination of a sitting Secretary of War. But I guess this is what Nazi’s and Communists due.

FYI Background:

Seth Moulton is a Democratic U.S. Representative for Massachusetts' 6th Congressional District, a position he has held since 2015. A former Marine Corps captain and Iraq War veteran, he is known for a background that blends military service with advocacy for veterans and mental health reform.

Advocacy: Frequently speaks about his personal experiences with PTSD to help destigmatize mental health issues...

Military Career Service: Served as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps from 2001 to 2008.

Tours: Completed four combat tours in Iraq.

Key Actions: Led a frontline platoon into Baghdad in 2003 and later served as a liaison for General David Petraeus.

Honors: Awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, both with "V" for valor.

Perspective: Remained a vocal critic of the Iraq War despite his decorated service.

***********************

Rep. Seth Moulton's strong opposition to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth stems from what he characterizes as Hegseth's "pure incompetence", disregard for international law, and dangerous mismanagement of national security. As a Marine veteran, Moulton has been one of the most vocal critics of Hegseth's leadership during the ongoing conflict with Iran.

Key Allegations and Conflicts

Accusations of War Crimes: Moulton has explicitly called Hegseth "guilty of war crimes".

Fitness for Command: Moulton argues that Hegseth is fundamentally unfit because he was not a "principled soldier" and lacks the experience to lead the Department of War.

Moral Standing: He has compared Hegseth's actions to those of Nazi submarine captains tried after WWII, stating that leaders who order the execution of survivors must be held to the highest legal standards

He cites Hegseth's "no quarter, no mercy" orders and military strikes on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean, which Moulton claims targeted civilians like fishermen.

Handling of Classified Information: Moulton blasted Hegseth for reportedly sharing "operational details of forthcoming strikes" on an unsecure Signal group chat. He described this as a "danger to this country and our men and women in uniform".

Military Strategy & "Incompetence": During April 2026 House hearings, Moulton mocked Hegseth's claims of "astounding military success" in Iran. He argued that with the Strait of Hormuz closed and high oil prices, the U.S. is actually "losing this war"."

Political Purge" of Leaders: Moulton has condemned Hegseth’s removal of senior military officers—including a reported 20% of four-star generals—as a "crude and overtly political" move that risks creating an "authoritarian military"

Key Takeaway: Moulton views Hegseth not just as a political opponent, but as a direct threat to the safety of U.S. troops and the integrity of the military institution

I am in no way calling Moulton a N@zi, but making a point. Here is some info on Hitler before he was elected:

Adolf Hitler served as a soldier in the German Army (Bavarian Army) during World War I, acting as a courier on the Western Front. He was an ordinary soldier, reaching the rank of Gefreiter (lance corporal), and was decorated for bravery, receiving the Iron Cross First Class.World War I Service (1914–1918)Volunteered: Although an Austrian citizen, Hitler volunteered for the Bavarian Army at the outbreak of war in 1914.Role: He served as a dispatch runner (courier), a dangerous job carrying messages.Decorations: He was decorated for bravery, notably receiving the Iron Cross Second Class and the rare Iron Cross First Class.Injuries: He was wounded in 1916 and temporarily blinded by a British mustard gas attack in 1918.End of War: He was in a hospital recovering from gas blindness when Germany surrendered in November 1918.Post-WWI Military Activities (1919–1923)Propaganda Instructor: After the war, he remained in the army for a short time and worked for the Intelligence Department, tasked with instructing soldiers in propaganda to fight socialist ideas.Paramilitary Role: In 1921, he took over the Sturmabteilung (SA), or "storm troopers," which served as the paramilitary wing of the Nazi Party, a group heavily composed of WWI veterans.

So my point is whatever service someone may have done, may not matter.

Just asking. Certainly we all are entitled to our own view of situations. Moulton clearly has his. Voters likely will have theirs. Are we, now more fully informed, to conclude Mr Moulton is a more viable andidate

“… he called for the “taking out” of Pete Hegseth.” No wonder these commies/dems/libs love abortion so much. Just get rid of him/her! 😩

The real betrayal is not in a Graham Platner, it is in a Schumer who endorsed him, albeit weakly. One would think that if there is any segment of our society that has a vested interest in the past it would be the Jews. Apparently not. “Never Again” has morphed into “Play it Again, Sam”.

YIKES! Great post! My mother had a red/white "stopper" with holes in the top that fit into a glass, Heinz catsup bottle. And we sprinkled a lot of clothes, towels, sheets, etc. over the years. I had forgotten that 'sprinkler'. Thanks for the reminder!

I remember ours as well!!!

Dr. Jill - love the commentary and the memes. All so true. The ironing board with clothes sprinkled with h20 was how I grew up. My depression-era, WW11 folks were like a page out of 'The Walton's. Nothing wasted. Common sense. Always utilitarian. I'm old enough now to realize how really smart they were. Thanks for the memories. Have a good weekend.

Great Friday Funnies! The Cheeto as a lock was hilarious. Today is my 13 anniversary of dropping dead in a street when my heart stopped but thankfully it got restarted again. You started it off with a lovely lengthy group of items that left me smiling. Thank you!

May 4 will be 23 years since my double by-pass w/ no symptoms other than high cholesterol. Could have been me in the street, too! God is good!

Kirsten Arbon's avatar

True that! Glad you made it through. I had a cardiac arrest. I've had an electrical problem in there. 😊

Sheila Barkofske's avatar

Wow!! That must have been interesting! Glad it started again!

Kirsten Arbon's avatar

CPR, a lot of times with the paddles and some rad paramedics made it happen. I don't remember the middle of the street part but I woke up out of a coma a week later....that part was wild!

Sheila Barkofske's avatar

So I take it that at least the traffic stopped for you! 👍

"A good day starts with coffee.... Everything after that is just a bonus."

The squirrel went on to say:

"After coffee, I'll climb up on the brick ledge, under the eave, and over the front window of James' house. There, I'll resume work on removing material from the wood trim. I also have the option of sitting atop the fence at either end of the house, and doing the same.

Later on, I'll work my way to the metal vent pipes penetrating the roof, where I'll sharpen my claws, and make noise that resonates throughout James' entire house.

Tomorrow, we'll hold a memorial service for my kin, who peeled back the steel mesh on James' chimney cap, fell down into the chamber over the fireplace, died, and attracted flies for 3 weeks.

My enduring frustration is that James does not appreciate us, or find us cute.

Thank goodness for the caffeine that energizes us as we go about our good work."

My squirrel says "There's nothing like a good, hot cup of joe in the morning to wire me up at dawn and get me on the roof right over the main bedroom so I can redo/remove all the shingles there." Thump, thump, scratch, scratch.

“The SPLC is manufacturing racism to justify its existence.”

The group deceived donors, hid payments through shell companies, and used the resulting “reporting” to justify its bloated budget and political hit lists.

Charlie Kirk was right about the SPLC all along. His murder demands more than thoughts and prayers—it demands justice. The Trump administration’s move to hold these frauds accountable is a vital first step in restoring sanity and protecting free speech from the real inciters..

Okay, here's a little life lesson - do not read Malone's Friday Funnies while drinking any kind of beverage. Computers are not good with being sprayed.

Oh my, the Cheeto, the Over It, Margaret, AOC...too many to recount, but all so on target!

Mostly, tho, the thoughtful and sadly correct writings on new age dressing and new age participation trophies.

Just makes me feel even more strongly that many (not all, thank the Lord) young people are searching for that one place, one thing, one belief that is true, right and full of peace for them. Their elders, their country, their leaders didn't find it, didn't provide it, were also lost, broken, untruthful, deceitful or silent because of that, therefore perpetuating the hold of evil to take root. It has been a long and ugly journey, which I pray each day is ending.

Today's funnies are a balm even while portraying hard truths!

First...Branco nails,it again. Second...we had a newly acquired boxer puppy and we left a round steak on the counter to thaw when we made a,short trip. He not only ate the steak but a good part of the, styrofoam package as well. He did not poop for 2 days.

I had a counter sniffing dog who also got and ate my steak 🥩

She also ate a stick of butter, with the wrapping, and pooped 3 times a day for several days 😂😜😂

As I was reading your observation about the decline in personal accountability, I remember my mother saying that she never left the house without lipstick. This has been a gradual decline, some good, some bad. I remember holding my crying son under my arm while frantically reading a parenting book. I knew that I didn't know at 22. I was tough on him as he grew up, knowing that his father was given too much with no accountability. This was from immigrant Russian parents in the 1950's. Hence the lack of balance from generation to generation, trying to account for what didn't work, see-sawing back and forth. We're not done yet before the scales shift.
