I recently saw video of some reporter (identity unknown, but evidently of the nearly-extinct species still having balls), following Bill Gates around the halls of the nation's Capitol, and peppering him in vain with questions. And I kept thinking: There goes one of hell's minions, free to roam, free to cajole and extort our mostly docile elected representatives. No doubt lucrative for all the power players involved. And this, after so many have been harassed and bankrupted and confined on spurious and manufactured grounds.

What tricks was Gates up to on Tuesday at the White House ?

In a statement obtained by Fox News Digital, the spokesperson noted, "Bill met with the president to discuss the importance of U.S. global health programs and health research that is necessary to save lives, protect Americans’ health, and preserve U.S. leadership in the world."

Gates said that they had a "quite intriguing dinner," noting that it lasted more than three hours. "

Wonder what he means by "intriguing"........

It’s true what they say about age and wisdom.

When I was a kid I, (and all of my siblings), played baseball on a field called Barnes Memorial Park. I somewhat knew of the story back then, but at the time Barnes was just the name of the park.

The park is named after John Andrew Barnes III, a Medal of Honor recipient from Dedham Ma. who was killed in action during the Vietnam War. After graduating from Dedham High School, Barnes enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a grenadier with the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his selfless act of jumping on a live grenade to save the lives of his wounded comrades during the Battle of Dak To. (He was no Dick Blumenthal!!) The town rededicated Memorial Field as Barnes Memorial Park in his honor in 1970. He was just 22 when he died.

Now I’m not into burning anyone’s flag, period. But I do have a hard time understanding why it’s ok to desecrate an American flag by burning it, but if I burn a rainbow flag or a blm flag I’m arrested and thrown in jail for a hate crime. It seems as though there are two radically different standards of justice here. From my perspective, which is based on my family serving in the armed services and being brought up patriotically, burning the American flag is the ultimate hate crime as far as flag burning goes. If we ask our precious young family members to put on a uniform and place their lives on the line in overseas wars “to protect the homeland and the American flag” shouldn’t this flag be sacred to the people our brave hero’s are protecting? Protecting their freedoms and liberties? Their Bill of Rights? Their Constitution? Is this not another example of how judges and our government have so demoralized Americans? Haven’t we all been witness to injustices these politicians and these men and women in black robes have delegated? I stand with Trump all the way on this one! J.Goodrich

The flag burning issue another example of SCOTUS's long lived hatred of our culture as I believe that was a 5:4 vote that approved it. Then roberts 5th vote inventing a tax to impose on us the odious ACA,. Then another 5:4 decision decided by a Jswish member on dual citizenship giving a US Jew the ability to vote in Israel's elections and gifting us citizen Soros. Another 5:4 expanded the govs control over commerce to the point its weaponization allows thr gov to appoint itself the power to make all our decisions for us.

I was surprised to read Scalia voted to allow flag burning. Before 1989 it was illegal and many if not all states had laws that didn’t allow it. It’s hard for me to understand a government that would send off young men and women to fight and die in a foreign war but allow haters to burn our flag. If it’s ok to desecrate our flag, throw it on the ground, step on it and light it on fire what are we fighting for?

They seem to have a hard time determining what is speech, which is protected, and what is not. It's not "freedom of expression" so actions that aren't spoken or written declarations should not be covered. Shout "I hate America" all you like but burning the flag or vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial should not be protected.

I also thought about this flag burning in terms of the analogy of "it is a protected" right; frankly.. Let me very thoughtfully ask this question.... IS ARSON A PROTECTED RIGHT UNDER THE CONSTITUTION. BURNING A RAG .. or a FLAG IS STILL ARSON and IN MY HUMBLE OPINION.. that this entire FLAG BURNING should be view as ARSON. IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO BURN STUFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. That works two ways ... I bring this up because I was almost killed in a accidental apt fire.. I woke up in the middle of the night and smelled the smoke. SO FIRE IS NOT A TOY for these Antifa Arsonist types to play with. IMHO.

Absolutely agree with you on this James! When I have seen footage of any person desecrating The Flag of The United States of America, I get so upset! I was praying that one or more American citizens would step up, & push the person aside, to the ground & say a few choice words- or even throw a punch to stop anyone from burning our Flag! As well, I have a family history of military service, & I am so happy President Trump is very respectful of all military service men & women, as well as so many Veterans that have served our Country! The President is definitely correct to protect the American Flag!

Flag Burning. It pains my soul. I even cringe at looking at nubile bodies covering their nakedness with bits of cloth that look like Old Glory. Especially the articles that can be sat upon.

I’m thankful for your love of our country, James. Your patriotism is both appreciated and sincere. I too, share those feelings.

I have long pondered the moral dynamics of burning our flag. That is something I would never do, for so many reasons. The answer as to whether it is right or even criminally wrong for another person to participate in that kind of activity, always evades me, and leaves my heart filled with uncertainty.

So many thoughts and emotions are involved, that need consideration out of respect for the values of others that I’m left with a sick feeling that it is a question that just can not be answered correctly.

Although free speech is a basic principle of our country, it has always been painful hearing words of support for concepts that I vehemently oppose. Never more so than when watching our nation’s flag being burned in protest. If the flag being burned were the property of any non consenting person or entity, then the solution would be clear cut, and lawful arrests would be justified. Unfortunately, that is almost never the case and therein lies the conundrum.
