Those of us who love America are the majority, if we only can stick together. There is no perfection in any one political party, but we must stay united. Aussie here. In Australia it is illegal not to vote if you are over 18 and on the electoral roll. Great idea right? I used to think so. I'm now in my 50's and watch the younger generation be completely brainwashed and gaslit by mainstream media and social media (which I have always called anti-social media - there's nothing social about a room full of humans ignoring each other on their screens) and having no idea about the political landscape. These ignorant/apathetic young Australians must vote or be fined for breaking the law but they have no idea what is actually going on. So they are perfect targets for the big political parties to buy their votes with "free stuff" among other moronic "policies". "Well I'm forced to vote so I'm gonna vote for these guys 'cause I'm gonna get x". This has the effect IMO of making meaningful political change MUCH harder because the politicians we need are not going to make those types of ridiculous and irresponsible claims and therefore won't get the votes of the ever increasing number of young apathetic and/or ignorant voters. I think voluntary voting in the US (and most other parts of the world as far as I'm aware) is a better system. However I agree - increasing the VOLUNTARY voter turnout to way more than 35% by kick-starting screen-deadened brain cells across the globe, and teaching young ones how to think instead of what to "think" would be far better

I was in Mexico at a flea market. The man in a shop was selling vanilla. He was saying to me that he wished he had learned English when he lived in the US. He didn’t. So now he has a shop where tourists from America are buying his wares. He said he was taking an English class. They don’t want to assimilate. When my great grandparents came over from Denmark to America. They assimilated in our country. My grandpa said his mother spoke Danish at home but the kids were to speak English. Grandpa never learned to speak Danish but could understand it.

Sadly, no cartoons remembering 9/11. Attended a memorial service this AM and learned 100 million Americans were not alive yet when 9/11appened. We should never forget. 2,977 lives were lost in one day and over 400 of lives lost were our First Responders who saved many lives. It was not only Americans who lost their lives. The French lost lives that day as well as other countries that had branches in the World Trade Center buildings. Local paper had a cartoon showing Uncle Sam on his knees 25 years ago and then showing him standing tall today. A history lesson that should be taught for generations to come. .
