George Washington also surveyed in Fauquier County. I was raised on a farm in Middleburg. The plantation house was burned during the Civil War and the Pickett family moved into the abandoned slave quarters which were added onto over the next 150 years. When my family bought the place and renovated the house in the 1960s, we found the original King George Grant for 10,000 acres of land in a strong box in the floor ... signed and surveyed by GW. By then "Fieldmont" was down to 350 acres! Still a LOT to ride over and then into the adjoining Bull Run Mountains.

In the winter of 1753, the Governor of Virginia sent a young 21 year old emissary to deal with the French in Pennsylvania, at the' point' .where the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers merged into the Ohio River at the Fort Pitt Blockhouse. I remember being an eight-year old talking on a radio show, which covered historical events for the Women's Chamber of Congress in Pittsburgh. It was about George Washington coming on horseback to Pennsylvania.. He was involved in s skirmish in May 1954, whereby a Frenchman, Ensign Jumonville was killed two years before the French and Indian wars began in 1756. He was actually the first casualty of the French and Indian Wars.

Jumonville Glen is off the Braddock Road near Uniontown PA. Read about it when daughter enrolled in Washington & Lee. Douglas Southhall Freeman’s 7 volume series covers all of GW, circa 1940…(BCE as yankee historians tagged it..,s/o)…

Up the road from the Glen is now a church camp, a place where Braddocks retreat Redcoats burned their wagons & supplies so French & Indians did not get them. A tiny museum has artifacts, like lead miniball bullets, some with teeth impressions from surgery…. Also pics of the PA Civil War Orphans home later located there. Braddock was wounded & died on the retreat, Geo W had him buried in the ‘road’ so his body we not be desecrated.

Braddock, the English General, helped Geo W become the US patriot. Washington was Col of VA militia & aspired t/b recognized as a Col. in British Army (as his brother was). Braddock & the other noble English officers - ‘never gonna happen - you colonial rube….This was a major turn in his life, fast fwd 20 years later…..

It’s such an amazing history America has. So important to have and share these records. It’s inspiring to think of these courageous men, in large organized groups, standing up against tyranny, saying we will not comply too the point that death is more acceptable than the loss of freedom. So many people today are so pampered, they willingly hand their sovereignty and their families sovereignty over for the idea of security. As Ben Franklin said “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety". We could sure use a couple hundred thousand old school patriots today. Thanks Drs. Malone for sharing this interesting piece of history.

It is sad. If they are taught it’s anti American lies. As though the world isn’t messed up enough, imagine if America wasn’t around. We may not be perfect, nothing is, but without us the world would be run by tyrannical dictators. Long live a free America!!

Personal weapons are what raised mankind out of the mud, and the rifle is the queen of personal weapons.... Pick up a rifle - a really good rifle - and if you know how to use it well, you change instantly from a mouse to a man, from a peon to a caballero, and - most significantly - from a subject to a citizen.

The rifle is a weapon. Let there be no mistake about that. It is a tool of power, and thus dependent completely upon the moral stature of its user. It is equally useful in securing meat for the table, destroying group enemies on the battlefield, and resisting tyranny. In fact, it is the only means of resisting tyranny, since a citizenry armed with rifles simply cannot be tyrannized.

Jeff Cooper

And...

There are no dangerous weapons; there are only dangerous men.

Robert A. Heinlein

Maybe follow the example set here (Great stuff Doc's!) by our founders.

Get a rifle. Learn to use it. Train. Find friends to train with. Learn your history.

Learn to be dangerous.

I bet you don’t have any Antifa or Black Lives Matter creating havoc in your neighborhoods!!

Those who love our country, respect and honor all that those who came before us and what they went through to establish these United States. Only ignorant ingrates disrespect our nation.

You live in one of the most beautiful, season-by-season places in the world, and perhaps THE most historic State in the USA.

We are a pair of UVA grads, long-time Virginia residents, and more recently denizens of the I-66 NoVA Parking Lot.

We are appalled by how Federal immigrants to the National Capitol Region festering across Northeastern Virginia, Tidewater, and the Richmond-DC I-95 Corridor have reduced Proud Revolutionary-leader Virginia to a spineless, corrupt and woke Blue State.

Like all the Blue States, a wall and migration control zone needs to be erected around these insane urban conglomerations ruined by those who have forgotten the Constitution and National Law.

We are now residents of the Free State of Florida, due to politics and, admittedly, a desire to never again creep along in traffic and shovel snow.

Thanks for your wonderful writing and reporting on medicine, politics, PSYOPS and farm life, Drs. Malone!

And yet, 4 score and 5 years later we became a nation divided over issues one could say weren’t too much different from those over which we separated from England: southern states, with VIRGINIA as the capital, succeeded over a more fundamental debate over whether all men are created equal before the law applied to ALL MEN or only to those with a dearth of melanin in their skin.

Double that, 8 score years after the end of that pissing match, after endeavoring to bring freedom and American ideals to the rest of our world, were back in the breech discussing, debating, fighting over whether the ideals of our founding still matter. And, one could argue, that Virginia is in the thick of it again having elected a "gentleman" who has publicly opined about murdering thems that he disagrees with (and their children). What heightens this debacle is that he wasn’t roundly soundly chastised by his peers or the electorate.

Further rubbing salt into this gaping wound in our political and social ethos is that America has now elected to high office folk advocating policies and ideologies contrary to our traditional American ideals and central to those bodies we fought two world wars and countless other "conflicts"against. Adherents of these contrary beliefs have taken hold of both coasts, thus actually setting in motion a possible scenario of another civil war defined (nearly) by geography.

Thank you for the great history lesson. The first time I went to Washington DC we drove Mt Vernon and then to Monticello. I loved driving through the small town on the way to Monticello. The countryside is beautiful and the towns were colonial. I loved driving through the feeling of driving through our American history. Out here in the West it is so different. No colonial buildings. We have old forts and Indian reservations.

Lyndon LaRouche said that tyrannic rule has always been dependent on the tyrant's technologies of attack, that had to stay one step ahead of the populace. When the people had bludgeoning clubs the oppressors came with spears. When the people made spears, the oppressors came with shields. When the people made shields, came with guns. When the people answered guns with guns, the controllers, in order to stay on top needed to be certain that their guns were bigger, fully automatic, that THEY are the ones with tear gas, body shielding, microwave weapons, stun gun, prisons and the list goes on.

Technology has jumped leaps and bounds in this century. Today's battles are the war for the hearts and minds of humanity. Today's bullets, firing from both sides are bullets of information and money. Reinforcements for our front lines today does not mean bullets and blood. Our money, time, thoughts and words are what we bleed today to back up the Thought Freedom Infantry.

I can't do what Robert Malone, Bobby Kennedy and so many of our front line fighters can do. I don't have that kind of life experience and discipline. They are stronger than me, but I can still be in the fight serving the greats with all I can. That's why I gave Bobby K 6K and why I am happy to pay Bob whatever he wants for this subscription.

As a bonus, Bob gets a lot of words and maybe even sometimes an idea. With my karma, I owe the world a lot and I hope to leave this place well spent right up to the last breath.

There are a lot of enemies of humanity that don't seem to behave in a human way, Screw the Democrats. Screw the Republicans. I am so glad we can bleed with other than our blood and that we don't have to rot our toes off and get Smallpox during a blistering winter of a revolutionary war.

That was truly a fascinating slice of history. Thanks so much for sharing it. Having been born & raised in a state steeped in Revolutionary War history, & where I continue to live, I have a great appreciation for what took place at that time. I live about 3-miles from the site a of a major Hessian skirmish, & many, many places are similarly historic. I literally cannot drive more than a few miles in any direction before happening upon another Revolutionary War site of significance. The hospital in which I was born is situated in very close proximity to the route that was utilized as the retreat en route to Valley Forge. The account of how cannons were moved from Fort Ticonderoga to Boston at the end of 1775/early 1776 is another very fascinating piece of history. The story can be found at battlefields.org. You may have to search the site to find it, but it is worth reading.

When I was in elementary school in the 60’s, the stories of the Revolutionary War fascinated me, especially the Minute Men—the result was Patriotism. I always refer to myself as a Patriot when talking to others.

We are a blessed nation with a rich history. I hope before it’s my time to die, that my passing would be reassured that Freedom will continue to ring in America and around the world, because of our Godly Heritage.

God is truly our hope.
