We are 67 & 72 year young Alaskans (transplants from FL 20 yrs ago) who (during COVID) realized our health was deteriorating due to center aisle grocery store diets after we started voraciously reading everything Malone, McCollough, Tenpenny, Kore (et al). Food is very expensive here with limited growing season unless you have big bucks for heated greenhouses, so we spend more money searching out organic locally grown options (extremely hard to find that meets both criteria). Game meat, fish, local eggs are fairly easy to obtain. While our personal health was the “starter” for this revolution it has now become our mission to be examples to our children and grandchildren. Very hard to afford this type of eating up here for young families- how do you help justify the cost of raising/growing your own food when it’s so much cheaper to just buy from the center aisles? Especially when prices of EVERYTHING keep rising for young families!

It will feature high quality foods from several regional, organic farms, including Polyface farm, Belle Vista farm, etc. It is located at 2513 Jefferson Hwy. in Waynesboro, VA.
We focus primarily on locally grown and produced, natural and organic foods, but will certainly consider any natural products produced in the USA that we cannot obtain locally. Thanks for the offering.
Now I undertand why my ancestors lieved well into their eighties and longer in farming communities in rural Hungary never seeing a doctor or being vaccinated. I never ever saw a fat person as a child spending summer months with my grandparents.

We're in a condo with an enormous patio and tons of large containers...was just going to have them sit empty, as the summer flowers are dying off BUT because of your site, I'm going to plant spinach, lettuce, peas carrots and cabbage! One big problem with home gardening is that land is being developed haphazardly and then hmos step in and forbid raising chickens etc. and poor water management means no watering anything more than once a wk and when temps hit 100 and over that will not sustain a raised bed. There has to be some effort made to control developers and corrupt land commissioners or we are facing some really serious problems.
Good points. We are on a well so don't have to worry about govt rationing, etc. (though we do worry a bit over the current year-long drought and making sure our well doesn't run dry). But our county in SW Va is currently in a huge battle with county council over proposed zoning changes that are attempting to do exactly what you describe. I think the entire council is going to be replaced very soon: in addition to the proposed zoning changes are secret talks and NDA's signed for a....data farm. Discovered through many FOIAs. Not to mention our main lake and water source is 5 feet below full pond and has been for many months now. The county people are livid over this - as we should be. Corruption isn't only in DC.
Already in place here. The owner of the large property mgmt company I worked for for 35 years always wanted his properties to have "golf course" green, beautiful grass. When the county/city went into temporary water restriction a decade or so ago green grass wasn't possible so I looked into installing a well on the property that could be used for all the plantings and grass and save significantly on water and sewer bills too - only to find out the county code "allowed for" restricting watering from wells too, if they so chose. They never had before, but they could. So I didn't pursue that further.
It's my understanding that our main aquifers are also still about 3 feet below normal.
I don't know enough about data centers but I understand the one proposed will need about 8 million gallons of water per day...from sources already 3 to 5 feet below normal pond. Even if evaporation put, say, half of it back in its still more than the area can absorb in a dry year.
Read a wonderful story in Epoch Times about Azure Standard Farm in Dufur, OR. One of the largest independent distributors of organic and non-GMO food in US. Tells of recovery of both grandson and grandfather after numerous trips to medical in late 60s to transition to whole foods. David Stelzer is now 60 and delivers this wholesome food to over 4,000 community drop points in all 50 states 1,000 retail stores. Progress in motion!!!

We'd have less space for wind and solar farms. More grazing cattle near suburbs. A more dispersed agricultural economy. Probably reduce pharma profits significantly. Now you see the revealed design of post WW2 America.

Here are actually considering regulating,private,wells. Have allowed developers to drain the,aquifers that feed municipalities AND private wells.

I would take the manure smell over the pot smell in the neighborhood.
Pot USED to smell good back in the 70s, tho I never liked it.

Unfortunately pet ownership (mammals) in large metro regions are seeing similar.
2019-2022 it jumped to approx 70% of US households. (90 million homes)
Millennials largest share @ 33%.
Rural households highest at 71% compared to urban/suburban.
Pet foods are not all the same quality.
The aspects of health of your home includes well fed and groomed pets. FYI
