Love it, Dr Malone. Many have no idea what they are protesting. Just a catchy slogan. I’d love to know how many are actually paid protesters also. When we protested the Vietnam war and the draft back in the 60s, we had a legitimate cause. Most of us knew it would do nothing to stop the war, but we were losing so many of our young boys for no real reason that we could see. This No Kings protest is against something that is not real! There is NO king! If there was, he would not allow protests. There is no common sense on the Left. They are indeed sheep, unable to think for themselves at all. Just following the crowd. Sigh! I just pray for the day to end with no violence. The organizers, however, are hoping for violence. None of them pray! Thanks for your timely post!

One has to wonder exactly WHO (other than George Soros) is FUNDING the never ending "protests" (and concomitant violence, destruction (and) looting of private property and businesses) THROUGHOUT the USA?

And WHY hasn't the former immigrant - George Soros - who after SWEARING to Uphold the US Constitution in 1965 and becoming a "naturalized" US citizen, has for over 40 years funded over a hundred "NGO" socialist/communist 'front' organizations , WHY hasn't Soros been stripped of his ill gotten US citizenship - and been DEPORTED?

I can only assume the reason he hasn't been stripped of US Citizenship or banned is that his goals align with the Globalist/Elite agenda. Now our only hope may be that his own son is such a disaster that he may destroy what George built. We can pray they both get what they deserve!

The "CFR" is a generational "Non-Governmental-Organization" that began in 1921, and is the ONLY "NGO" that I know of which has its members "embedded" in EVERY US federal agency, bureau and department - including the POTUS and SCOTUS! Members are BOTH so-called "Republicans and so-called "Democrats" - who want the USA to become an adjunct of the United Nations. ....Some call it TREASON.

Here’s my take (worthless as it may be). The Trump administration has acknowledged Jesus Christ as King and God as their guide. They are pretty open about this. They have begun to restore law and order, advocated for sexual morality (end transgenderism, abortion, promote family), make peace in the world, restore transparency and openness in government, restore fiscal discipline, insist on personal responsibility and a variety of other measures generally outline in the Bible as the things people of faith should do. The partners of the No Kings liberal left craziness object to one or more of these virtues and see them as an existential threat. However, I can’t explain all the white haired lunacy. Maybe it’s catching. Maybe, as some believe, it is a mental illness side effect of the vaccines - LLL ie Left Leaning Lunacy which has as it’s most telling symptom the inability to see or tell the truth about any situation in spite of the obvious facts. Really, it’s baffling.

I saw it happen, our friends that did not get saved, turned radical, many decided to radicalize colleges, after they bombed the Senate building. I bet not one of these aged, graying boomers know God. Politics is their God.

Hey Dr. Malone, Thanks so much for all you do. I take issue, however, with your mention of "atheists" as part of the group of idiots partaking in the No Kings nonsense, because I am one. Yes, there are probably lots of (misguided) atheists in the crowd, but probably lots of (misguided) Christians, Jews, and many other categories that have nothing to do with religion. My political heroes are Reagan, Thatcher, and now Trump, and I'll bet my ideology and opinions overlap about 98% with yours. Judeo-Christian ethics and society have created the best of human existence, but that's because in most areas, Christianity dovetails nicely with the reality of the secular world. It could never have been so successful for so long if that were not the case. However, though I just have no religious belief, I will defend your right to believe as you wish. The problem is this: I think there are a lot of people like me who are turned off by the "extreme" religious people who say the Earth is 6000 years old, the story of Noah's Ark actually happened as written, and so forth. Conversely, Christians may be turned off by people like me because we are "evil" or haven't been saved. In short, two huge groups of people, who share 98% of their life views, are reluctant to work together against the true evil, which is the extreme left, fascists, communists, etc. This is a godsend to the left. The two groups need to respect one another and work together to vanquish the globalists and would-be totalitarians, or else all is lost. I hope you can help make this happen. Thanks for listening.

I've been reading a book you might be interested in. Not trying to convert you... This is not a book pushing religion or any particular form thereof. It's about the existence of a soul that appears to exist apart from our physical bodies/brains. The author is a neurosurgeon who was an atheist most of his life. He believes in God now, but that was due to his own personal experience. Fascinating book, a lot of good, albeit anecdotal, evidence for the existence of a soul. (Kinda hard to get hard evidence of that, innit?) Anyway, check it out:

Coming late in the day I happened upon your post and the ensuing conversation here. I will second Carole's recommendation; I have read that book myself. To that, let me add. . .

Brought up Roman Catholic I became disenchanted during my 20's and moved over to Lutheran; now, disenchanted with that I only attend services randomly. About 20 years ago, like you I started read a lot more as the kids moved out, and I had more time. I LOVE to read. One of the genre's I picked up on is that of NDE's-- Near Death Experiences. THIS, in fact , is the subject of which Carole pulls the thread. If you are courageous enough in your search for knowledge please don't relent and feed that thirst with investigating NDE's.

You know, Dave, you do not need to believe in "religion".

But, believe this, WE here, humans on earth, physical beings, are two things in one:

a soul and a human body in temporary service to it.

Must wrap my brain around this-literally. I just happen to be reading the new Dan Brown book, "The Secret of Secrets," (fiction of course but with grounding facts) and it just happens to be based on the same ideas. What I found interesting was how this hypothesis could help explain savants, epileptic seizures and other, to date, unexplained brain 'dis'orders. One reviewer called it "Intellectual Fuel". Perfect.

"Noeticists believed that consciousness was not created by brain processes, but rather was a fundamental aspect of the universe—akin to space, time, or energy—and was not even located inside the body."

I would work with you, I respect your thoughts and convictions and I, for one, don't think you are evil because you are atheist. I was brought up Christian (Presbyterian) and attended church somewhat sporadically up to the point my children were grown. I became less enthusiastic about attending 'church' for various reasons I won't get into here, but I consider myself to be a very spiritual being.

May I ask. What grounds you and how do you have/maintain hope? I'm not trying to be nosy, I am truly interested. Feel free to ignore me.

Expand full comment
Dave Coleman's avatar

Thanks for asking. What grounds me is the belief that good and evil can be discerned from the facts of reality as delivered by our senses and integrated by our rational minds. This leads to unshakable commitment to the right to life, liberty, and property for each individual human being. I would say that I am an Ayn Rand-style Objectivist. Her writings allowed me to understand the importance of having a personal philosophy and using it to resolve contradictions in various ideas I was holding. This came when I was nearly 50 years old!! I don’t know all the answers, but I believe that there ARE answers if one cares to research and think enough.

Personally, I don't believe that there is anything beyond "the natural world or universe," as opposed to someone who believes in a supernatural realm or being(s). However, I'm not trying to persuade anybody of anything here, just saying that we need to work with all possible allies in order to preserve our rights to life, liberty, and property. By all means, excoriate the leftists, communists, globalists, and fascists because their beliefs and goals lead to ruin. But ALL atheists don't belong with that group, because while many share those beliefs, there are many (like me and a great number of my friends) who want to be allies with Christians, Jews, free enterprisers, libertarians, conservatives, and anyone else fighting to preserve Western society, this last best hope of man on Earth.

My closest friend is an atheist... Or maybe agnostic, I've never really pinned him down on that. (Nor would I try...) And having it shoved in his face once too often.

Dave, I appreciate your commentary. I have identified as an atheist only because I don't believe there's anything outside of this life. Well my parents were Catholic, they were not churchgoers and science was the most respected theme in my adolescence. I was pretty old before I realized atheism could be seen as an organized thing and that that word was offensive to many religious people. But I'm not agnostic like some people have suggested. I went to convent school and I understand faith. And I don't have it. But like you said, I truly appreciate the moral structure that comes with a lot of Western faiths. The level of community and belonging that it provides, I believe, keeps many people from falling down a very lonely, dark cavern when life is too much to bear. I've put in place other support structures and built a community that serves this purpose.

HAPPY SUNDAY!!

Life does not seem happy at times—and that’s part of life—but as a nation, we are experiencing turbulent, chaotic, and violent times. We do not know how things will end, but our desire is for America to remain rooted in its Constitution and founding principles, which is unashamedly Christian.

With Antifa, lawlessness, No King rally’s, and overall Marxist/Leftist ideologies banging their drums of war, how then should we respond? Better yet, what is the root of this problem, so we can respond with the right solution?

In the video below, Nate Sala who founded Wise Disciple—responds to a conversation between Stephen Crowder and a student at SMU. Crowder admits with the student, that the root of the problem is the Left’s “godless” ideology. But Crowder’s solution was lacking the true answer to a “godless” society. Nate Sala points out, that the answer to a “godless” society is—God—and his explanation of the root cause, its solution, and how we are to respond, is Scripturally based—not in “religion” but in the person of Christ.

The video is worth the watch on this beautiful day, and it’s my desire that this brings hope to our circumstances, and confidence, that no matter what happens, God is the answer to all of life’s issues.

HAPPY SUNDAY!! 🤗
