If I was to make what I would call an educated opinion of the one key principle that has been missing in modern American politics and its politicians, it would have to be the disappearance of servant in the term public servant.
A great servant makes a great leader. The idea that a great servant makes a great leader is central to the concept of “servant leadership,” a leadership that emphasizes serving others and makes others needs priority. It’s based in the belief that effective leaders are those who dedicate themselves to the growth and well being of their followers rather than seeking personal power or gain.
This I believe, is the struggle we are witnessing with this deep state trying to stop Trump at every turn from being a true servant to the people. Too many have forgotten the famous quote by Abraham Lincoln in his Gettysburg address, “a government of the people, by the people and for the people”.
This principle of servant leadership goes back to the founding of the Christian religion. During the last supper Jesus washed the feet of the disciples. He did this to demonstrate humility and service to others, setting an example for his disciples to follow.
Jesus despite being the Lord and Master humbled himself by performing a task typically done by servants. This task exemplifies his willingness to serve others, even those who were close to him like Judas.
Jesus instructed his disciples to follow his example to wash each others feet , emphasizing the importance of servant leadership and humility.
The act of washing feet before the last supper occurred just before Jesus’ betrayal and death adding a layer of meaning to his actions.
The washing of feet could symbolize the cleansing of sin and the preparation for the spiritual reality of Jesus’ sacrifice.
Jesus’ act of washing feet demonstrates his love and care for his disciples even those who were not perfect.
Key principles to servant leadership are;
Putting others first.
Empowering others.
Focus on growth and development.
Humility and selflessness.
Trust and collaboration.
Ethics and integrity.
This may be a reach on my part but I believe much of this idea of servant leadership is not only the basis of beginning of Christianity but is the basis of the founding of our country and what the American government was truly supposed to be.
It’s sad to see how far we have fallen away from this major principle that was supposed to be the basis of our founding. It has disappeared from nearly every incumbent in our government. Today, Sunday June 1st, let’s pray this administration can somehow be successful in bringing some servant leadership and humility back into our government.
When I was in the Army, my supervisor is what I call a servant leader—by example. He did not encourage me to expand on my skills, he told me to do it by ordering me to try out for the Expert Infantry Badge—the highest peace time badge for Infantrymen, and excessively demanding. He also signed me up for Primary Non-Commissioned Officer Course (PNCOC) a leadership course for Combat Arms—he was helping me to grow as a soldier and leader. Later, on Christmas Eve, we were getting the office ready for an inspection, and he told me to go home. I told him he has a wife and kid, and I’m single, so I would stay—he gave me that look and said, it’s an order, go home. I’ll never forget that! 🤣 He was a Vietnam Veteran, shot up by a machine gun, during his second tour—he treated me like a son.
John C. Maxwell teaches Servant Leadership, and his books and seminars are great, because in my opinion, they are based on Biblical Principles. James, your emphasis on Scripture and Jesus’ leadership as Lord and Savior for our good, is what our nation needs, and each of us as individuals. Your posts brings peace back into focus.
All is well, though like many of us, things can get as rough as a corn cob—as my dad used to say. 🤣
Being a Christian does not mean life is smooth and without speed bumps. We have struggles: physically, financially, emotionally, etc., and those struggles can be painful. Yet, we can look back and see that we were never alone, as Christ said He would never leave us nor forsake us.
I keep pointing people to Christ and His Word, because it is there that I personally receive peace during the storms of life. I have drawn strength from others like you who share their stories to encourage others in the times we live in.
We must remember the Malone’s. They are not impervious to the storms of life. Besides taking care of the farm, and my buddy Gizmo, they are under constant attack from the Left. You never know how our writings might lift them up. 🙂
I hadn’t heard that saying in a long time. And yes life has its rough times.
There are people that come into your life that make things seem clearer, easier to see and understand. Here’s something that might lift you a bit. I sometimes get down on myself., I think we all do at times. I’m beginning to understand many in life, not all, get to a point where making a difference in someone else’s life, by helping them becomes a goal. Well I place this on myself. Being a carpenter, for years, I began to know that pleasing the customer, the person, was my priority. Making money was not high on my list of running this business, it’s probably why at times I struggle, but that’s another story. I do get down when I think I haven’t fulfilled my goal whether in business or sometimes here when I write, which is new to me. Well I was down one day, I’m sure you remember, frustrated, you told me sometimes the difference you make is small, it can be just a small group but to those people you have made a difference. You sent me a link of a man, I apologize I don’t remember his name, saying how he had a very small congregation but learned that you try to effect the people that you come in contact with. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a lot of people, sometimes I’ve seen it can just be one person, but you made a difference. What you said made a change in me!
I always look forward to your comments, they lift me CQL!
As for the Malone’s, they got me, is, through the darkest times during the pandemic. I’ve learned so much here, beginning with the all important 1st amendment. Without that we may all have stayed in that dark place isolated. The 1st amendment gave us access to the Malones and all their knowledge. Because of the Malones we have all met each other on their wonderful sub stack where what’s actually happening in this world and our country becomes clearer, easier to see and understand 😊. Thanks for all you’ve done for me CQL!!!
This is a wonderful thought, & something our country needs-a much better “Leadership”, as you mention. Especially through prayers, I feel we, as American citizens, can accomplish. Enjoy your Sunday as well James, thank you.
You know, if they just suspended airline passengers from the cabin roof using tethered shoulder harnesses.... no more leg cramps. And they could load and unload passengers using a conveyor, akin to what we see at the dry cleaners. Bill Gates' food-a-ma-callit could be administered via overhead flex tube. With requisite downgrades for coach, of course. I've seen the future.
If they are going to foist this off on us the average people who have to travel, there should be legislation that all members of the Senate and House of Reptiles, as well as staff and all government employees must also travel standing. Maybe then they won't want to travel so much anymore on the tax payers money. Up next just standing with no seats, just a bar to hang onto like a subway during rush hour.
Spent many years as a youthful Chicago bus passenger. Enjoyed the strap hanger challenge. Can't say I could buy into it on a plane. Had an opportunity to share a precipitous drop during severe storms. Standing strapped to a 'seat' doesn't cut it.
The patient smoking in the hospital is priceless. I remember having a doctor when I was very young who would smoke during checkups. Of course, both my parents smoked (inside the house and car) and my mom smoked while pregnant with all 4 of us kids.
Not that I would recommend any of it - smoking is a nasty thing and I cannot stand the smell. But somehow, me and my brother and my sisters survived. Who knows, maybe the tobacco was "healthier" back then?
Wife worked in a developmental pediatrics unit in Tex. Childrens Hoxp. where a pediatrician did a,study on smoking moms and child development and saw a definite correlation between smoking and stunted growth in kids
Maybe, my Mom smoked and drank with all four of her pregnancies. My Dad was 6'2", had 3 brothers, none of them reached 6'. I, the only girl , 69"! Went to the doctor the other day, still 69".
A lovely old neighbour of mine, sadly gone, worked as a nurse during and after the war. She told me that patients, especially with bronchitis, were given one cigarette first thing in the morning, to help with the coughing. I have no eason to doubt her ...
The doctor that delivered me nearly 70 years ago was a pipe smoker. He was one of only three physicians taking care of the people who lived in the county, so he was my doc for many years until he retired when I was about 10 years old. I remember smoking stands for the patients’ use in his waiting rooms. He didn’t smoke while with a patient. We thought nothing unusual about people smoking while coughing up a lung while waiting to see the doctor.
A nurse in the small neighboring town shrank a two pound tumor to nothing with nicotine patches. Isn’t nicotine the active ingredient in cigarettes? Go figure.
Yes, I read Dr. Ardis’s book and he found that nicotine was an antidote during Covid. Smokers did not get sick! His book has a lot of great information. I think he found in one study that nicotine shrunk a glioblastoma by half By using nicotine patches!
See, Gregor Mendel, Austrian Augustinian monk who used garden peas to establish the rules of heredity. Over a hundred years later, we followed his methods using fruit flies we captured with bananas in our 9th grade science class.
As an Italian-Murican I rise, during this LGBTQplus month, to call upon my brothers in the Sons of Italy, the Knights of Columbus, the IAADL and all the other Italian-American organizations, to petition our proud mother, the United States government, to remove Italian-Americans from the list of broken people who need the benefits of a month of their own.
However, if anyone is so moved, I wouldn’t mind having a month just for myself….
It used to be June bride month. Lots and lots of marriages took place in June, me, my Mom and my best friend, we all married the same day, June 9. It is intentional that the homosexual community choose June.
The dog hair in the vacuum is perfect. Our Dyson Animal looks like that more often than not. Our dog Maverick is a Siberian Husky-German Shepherd mix. We call him a Husky-Shedder mix.
LOL over the rural doctor video! So accurate!!! We live in a rural area of Michigan (the Thumb), and the past year has been filled with long rides (usually in an ambulance) for my husband, who has had numerous surgeries and cancer care at University of Michigan. I now sport a maize and blue wardrobe. There are a few good doctors in our area, but their surgical hands are usually tied by the various hospital systems, who cannot "talk" to each other because they are on different wavelengths, or the insurance companies, who are just way out of control.
But the best post was the 6 Dawgs video! That young man nailed it!! Have been blessed with all categories of little canine companion/children, but the tribute to his beagles at the end made me tear up. Beagles have always somehow found their way to us, and are still at the top of the list! Especially Vinnie, who was a laboratory research beagle from MSU. No instruction manual came with a dog riddled with PTSD. Because of our age and health issues, we haven't had a dog in a few years. Just lots and lots of cats! But we will have another dog soon! One will show up at a rescue, or at our door, and we will enjoy our sunset years surrounded by a pack, along with our clowder!
So true about if a dog doesn't like you it's time for some self-reflection. My cat used to attack my stepson's feet, they didn't smell too good. The meme for cigs in the hospital goes to show you how far we have come, a good reminder of what can come out of MAHA!
I remember being really down and depressed thinking that I wasn’t important to anyone or the job that I was hired to do. Then I thought, “Dogs like me!” And life was better then.
I totally agree we don’t need all these crazy months for celebrating nothing. I just like to celebrate that I’m a conservative American woman. I don’t need a month because I celebrate it every day. Thanks, Malone’s for the fun Sunday Strip..
Where’s I Love America month.

You are really asking for a stretch today, James! Great ideals to strive for. Wouldn't it be great if a version of this was shouted from the rooftops!
It would be great! Thanks DD!

Why is "Pride Month" in June and not later in the year?
Because the Bible says: "Pride goeth before the Fall."
🤗👍
Lol!
🤣😆🤩
Hey Dawg! This is a doggone good Sunday Strip today!
Drs Malone, you both are top dog!

That new title also caught my eye 👁 😳 ‼️
Too funny ‼️🤣😁😅

Well, that video of the six kinds of dogs had me laughing at first, in tears at the end because I've had that kind of dog and miss her still.
Same!
Very cool that Friars and Priests were such important scientists! I want to learn more about them.
Did not expect the Dawg video to be such a tear jerker! Sniff. Sniff.
Thank you, Dr Malone!
