Just like man nations face dark times as well. It’s in these times, when things aren’t well, people of faith turn to prayer.
During Covid while Joe Biden occupied the White House, it seemed we were in the darkest of times in recent memory. Everyday I would pray that Americans would wake up, stand up, and stop the government from consciously taking away peoples liberties and freedoms. I’d pray that I wasn’t alone. For years it stayed dark, it seemed things would never change.
In times of war, we pray that our soldiers stay safe. That in the darkness of war America will be successful, quickly obtain its goals and that conflict will bring peace.
In the Book of Genesis it begins by telling us how God created everything. The world was in darkness, (“darkness was over the face of the deep,” Genesis 1:2) before God created light. Therefore the first day begins in darkness and ends with light. You would think the first day would start with the sunrise but it doesn’t, it starts in the dark. While some may say this is the setting of a 24 hour day others suggest that in the Bibles view light and hope follow darkness.
It’s incredible that in the darkness, if we didn’t know what time it was, things wouldn’t seem to really change. It could be any time of night, there is no sign that change is taking place. But at 12 midnight, at that one instance, when nothing seems any different, it goes from pm to am, a new day begins. On purpose God chose to start a new day in the dark. It’s symbolic of how He works in our lives. He gives us a promise. He says we’ve come into a new day and light will follow.
The moment we pray the tide of the battle turns. The darkness doesn’t mean things haven’t changed. Darkness is not a sign that God is not working, that he didn’t hear our prayer. We have to walk by faith and not by sight. You may not see it but when you prayed you left the pm and came into the am. It’s a new day, the light is on its way. We all have to live by faith. No matter what we’ve been through, if we have faith and we pray, it may not be immediate, but in Gods time the light of day will shine on you, and you will find your peace. Keep your faith! He, second only to Ron Johnson in the Senate, has been among the very few legislators who spoke out forcefully against COVID tyrannies. And he is the only one I ever remember wiping the smug smile off Becerra's face, drawing a sheen of sweat.

I do remember this back in 2021! I did not get any covid jabs, as I did not entirely believe this was real- seriously- how could our own government mandate every citizen be forced to get this vaccine? The propaganda that continued back in 2020-2024 about how this pandemic began, the where-who-how it spread, then the continued “air-time-messages” from the CDC, & how the public needs to get vaccinated! I never bought into this, & I thank God every day for my health, & the wisdom to not get a “flu shot”. They ministered to him about living peacefully which he promised to do once he left the Hospital. Very good set. Start with decades of “medical” advice. Reagan jobs, Aristotle advice, Swalwell how’s your drink? As far as cholesterol pathway a 30 step pathway. Why called the cholesterol pathway when two other steroids at the end testosterone and estrogen. So statins inhibit your hormone productions. Statin inhibitors inhibit at step 5. This entire cholesterol inhibition marketing is a true boondoggle menace. Unfortunately docs did not all understand the biochemistry they were taught. Meanwhile there are many important molecules generated by the pathway from step 5 to 30, such as quinones very important for muscles such as the heart and all others. Muscle pain often causes folks to get off statins, thankfully!! No doubt Doc Malone is familiar with all of this having been very versed in biochemistry.
There is biochem and then there is med school biochem. I took a med school biochem course in grad school and had to make a C or better, the med students were on pass/fail, ie.. D or better.
Truly sad that docs can’t figure out the true nature of the testosterone/estrogen/cholesterol pathway Actually cholesterol is an important cell membrane component. However, Some docs do appear to have somewhat mastered how to deal with afflictions. I asked, "How about I revise my diet; think that would help?' Response: "Sure. Diet modification works." Add that to the teeter-totter of the confusing world in which we live! As a retired white haired physician I can tell you that the timeline presented on diet and medications is my lived experience. Add to this 2002 estrogen causes breast cancer. There are many more fallacies as well and I could go on. I’m pleased that I learned from the thalidomide scandal (well before I started my training) and developed a healthy dose of skepticism about all of the “new breakthrough” medications. The food pyramid had me until about 1995.
I’m proud to have resisted the tide of expert recommendation in the latter half of my career.

I asked, "How about I revise my diet; think that would help?' Response: "Sure. Diet modification works." Add that to the teeter-totter of the confusing world in which we live! This week's Sunday "Phunnies" contains sufficient humorous reflections to give one pause for thought! Slainte, one and all!

As a retired white haired physician I can tell you that the timeline presented on diet and medications is my lived experience. Add to this 2002 estrogen causes breast cancer. There are many more fallacies as well and I could go on. I’m pleased that I learned from the thalidomide scandal (well before I started my training) and developed a healthy dose of skepticism about all of the “new breakthrough” medications. The food pyramid had me until about 1995.
I’m proud to have resisted the tide of expert recommendation in the latter half of my career.

Looks like Homer's in the midst of a cold snap. Me too. Lucky my planting has been minimal. The HVAC control device tells me it's low-40s outside. My phone tells me it's mid-40s outside. I set the phone on the control device to let them sort out their differences.

Just reread. The “stable” folks calling Trump unstable. I have been thinking Trump has been considering world madness for about 30 years. Fortunately he survived and is helping with many items such as fuel. All the fuels came from plants!! CO2 does not control the climate!! Vaccines have never been tested against true placebos, apparently just the previous vaccine. True madness. But we fortunately have fighters such as Malone, Trump, Kirsch, and many more in government and thousands of communities. Thankfully our Republic set up has 50 states to contend with!
