Growing up, the “Christmas Season” was always a magical time of the year for me. I’ll always remember this one cold snowy December day walking home after a basketball game, I was 12 years old and played on the Dedham Recreation. It was cold and dark and the snow was already on the ground, I finally was getting home from the long walk across town after the game. I walked into my house and there was my mother decorating the Christmas Tree. She had already put the lights in the windows and the garland on the mantel. She always made Christmas special for us kids. Christmas was once the best holiday.
Yesterday I came across a local story that has gone national. A local reverend Stephan Josoma at Saint Susanna’s parish here in Dedham, had set up the nativity scene without the baby Jesus, Mary or Joseph in it. He placed a sign saying ICE Was Here. The obvious presumption being that ice agents had taken all three of them and that they somehow were illegal aliens. Below it in smaller letters it says the holy family is safe in our church implying that Jesus and the holy family had sought refuge in the church. You would like to think the archdiocese in Massachusetts would step in and stop this politicization of Christmas through the church, I would sure like to see that, but they do nothing. They allow this priest to push illegality on the parish. This same priest has pulled similar shows of blasphemy in the past. It’s pretty obvious, at least around here (Massachusetts), the Catholic Church leadership has pledged its allegiance to the democrat party even over God and Jesus. Trafficking Illegal immigrants into America is not only illegal but it’s big business, and the Catholic Church has made millions of needed dollars on open borders and illegal immigration. As always, it’s all about the money.
Now I’m no theologian but Jesus was a subject of the Roman Empire. Well Bethlehem, Nazareth and Egypt were all part of the Roman Empire, so Jesus and the Holy Family never broke immigration laws. In fact nations and borders are spoken of over and over again in the scriptures. There are walls with watchmen and armies at those walls to protect cities, nations and the people inside those walls. Not anyone could just enter the city or country.
People always speak of what’s in the Bible, what it says, they nitpick about what the words mean. Sometimes you need to focus on what it doesn’t say. It would be a perfect story wouldn’t it be, if when Mary and Joseph got to Bethlehem and the first door they knocked on they were welcomed in, sure use my house, it’s yours, take it over. Imagine if then Mary gave birth to Jesus right there on the living room floor of a strangers house, it would have been the perfect narrative for the open borders crowd, but that’s not what happened. All the doors that were knocked on were slammed shut. It’s human nature for a person and their family to be secure in their home and then of coarse be generous to others, not selfish in a bad way. Anyone you let into your home you want to know and have some trust. You’re not going to open your door to just any random stranger knocking at your door. Sometimes you have to look at what’s in the Bible and what’s not. This is why Jesus was born in a manger. Did this priest not learn this in seminary? I’d love to ask him why are there 40 foot walls around the Vatican?
One more point for your Sunday reading pleasure😁. What is heaven? Heaven is a Kingdom, the Kingdom of God. You don’t just walk into the Kingdom of God, there’s a gate and if there’s a gate I assume there are walls. Not just anyone is allowed into heaven. You must live a life of faith, you are judged, and if you are found worthy you are allowed to enter.
There are other places for people that break the laws of a nation. Maybe reverend Josoma should think about his fate before he performs his acts of blasphemy here on earth. Maybe give a homily of how we shouldn’t tolerate the rampant abortion here in the state of Massachusetts or the constant assault on marriage and family, or how about speaking out against radical LGBTQ plus agenda, NO? It seems many churches in Massachusetts main agenda that flows onto the pulpit is breaking the law by allowing in illegal aliens and their push for citizens to break the law, house or help house these illegal invaders and for struggling people to pay for this.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just enjoy Christmas again, focus on the birth of Jesus, and his life, like when we were kids, without all the politics!
Stephan Josoma, is theologically, Biblically, and historically illiterate. As you pointed out, the Roman Empire had roads extending throughout the known world, and traveling and living in Egypt did not qualify Jesus’ as an illegal alien, they just left one jurisdiction to another, like moving from NYC to Florida—I now understand why the left hates the targeting of the drug boats—their ideology is lawless and their thinking is depraved.
In heaven, there are no illegals—only those who have trusted in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Salvation is a gift from God that was paid for by the death of Christ. The thief on the cross is an example of how one comes to Christ. He like the other thief was cursing Jesus, then something happened in his heart—he stopped cursing Jesus (repentance) and asked Him to remember him when he enters His Kingdom (trusting in the King of the Kingdom) for eternal life. Jesus promised that he would be with Him that very day.
The salvation he received simply came from repenting from his sin and his view of Jesus, and simply trusting in Him to save him. His gaze was solely upon Jesus. He did not have to go through a church, priest, preacher, baptism, Lord’s Supper, perform good works, or any religious ritual—it was simply trusting in the One who died for him.
So it is today. One does not have to go through the church, priest, preacher, Baptism, Lord’s Supper, perform good works, or do any religious rituals, to be forgiven by Jesus—he paid it all on the cross, and said, “It is finished.” A one time sacrifice that allows a personal relationship with God through Jesus and Jesus alone—our only hope. 🤗
I always hesitate to give my perspective on religion as what people usually worship, rather than the One Who is the Reason for the religion because I am a rogue Christian. Meaning I chose the lonely path of seeking a personal relationship with Christ rather than filtered through manmade dogma. Tell me how many denominations of Christianity are there? Which one would Jesus tell us to follow?

Didn't Mary and Joseph travel to Bethlehem because of government decree? It would seem to me that there was no more room for travelers to be housed because of the registration requirement of the citizenry. I'm not a Catholic, I was raised in the SDA church, but fair is fair. I believe the Catholic church is no better or worse than any of the Protestant churches. (Or other religions, for that matter.) There are good and bad people in all the churches... I was the church treasurer for several years in my church, was a member of the church board, and saw plenty to make me realize that yes, even my church, had it's fair share of hypocrites. (I don't attend church anymore... Just have always found it more fulfilling to worship outside, in God's creation.)

I was raised with a Catholic stepmother, I read the stories for children about Jesus and later on loved the rebelliousness and the questioning he did. Jesus was no fool and the times were tough. He was called a heretic and died for the position he took concerning his statements about many things. The missing 13 years in the Bible, concerning what and where Jesus was, is an example of censorship. A few other things have been changed and omitted for the same reasons. I have read a lot about the life and teachings of Jesus from esoteric sources (Edgar Cayce for one) to be able to get a more realistic picture. We have not been told the whole picture or story...
Well James, I like your thinking, just one point which you did not seem to be clear on, and one that is the most important amongst all you have written. You wrote, "You must live a life of faith, you are judged, and if you are found worthy you are allowed to enter." That is not what the Words of the Lord tell us about how we can be made right before Him and welcomed into eternal life.
It is not by our works (ie "living a life of faith") that "makes us worthy". There is nothing we can do to be worthy to enter internal life with the Lord. It is what Christ did on the cross in paying the penalty for our sins with His shed blood. It is only accepting that great gift of sacrifice that allows us to be welcomed into the next life. For those who are found in Christ, they will not be judged. Jesus took our sins on himself and was judged by the Father, convicted, and then was sentenced, paying the penalty on the cross to death. Those in Christ cannot be judged as the sentence has already been executed. This is even how our earthly "justice" system works, you don't stand before the judge after the penalty has been carried out and the time served. There are lots of Bible passages that confirm this, I'll let you go after them for yourself.
It is those people who have rejected the Lord's great gift of redemption who will experience being judged. This make sense, as since they have rejected the penalty Christ paid for their sins, no sentence has been carried out for them, thus they are judged and then sentenced.
As an example that, it is not "living a life faith" that is required to be judged "worthy ", I offer one of the thieves who were crucified beside Jesus (possibly a couple of guys that ran with Barabbas), one of these convicts expresses faith in Christ while hanging there beside Him. Christ then reassures this convict, " I tell you this, today you will be with Me in paradise". It is quite obvious, that this man would not qualify for heaven under the criteria of "living a life of faith". It was the thief's simple profession of faith, that Jesus was who He claimed to be, that saved this man from an eternity separated from God.
For those in Christ, as opposed to being judged, it appears that there will be something of an "awards ceremony" for believers in Jesus, but this is a recognition of what we did to further the Gospel while we were alive, our faithfulness in living for Christ. This though has nothing to do with what gets us to that awards ceremony in the first place. I am also no theologian, but these are tenants of the Faith, and the pure Gospel message. Just to be clear.

So many LOL funnies it’s hard to pick one but I think I’ll comment on the instructions for cooking bacon. I hired a high school graduate to help pack our product (Crayon Rocks… still sold world wide though I’m retired) and she was asked to bore holes in our tags with our drill press. After stripping the gears on the press and breaking the drill bit and ruining several hundred tags, a coworker noticed. She said she had no idea what was wrong because she pressed down as hard as she could. The coworker asked if she had thought about turning the drill motor on. She said she didn’t know you had to. The reason she is so ignorant (not stupid because she had an average IQ and knew far more the I did about her cell phone) is because this generation was told to meet standards set by the DOE (Department of Education which followed the No Child Left Behind mandates). These intellectual ignoramuses decided that fourth graders (this is an actual competency test question asked every year) needed to know and identify the difference between a metaphor and a simile. Not how common household tools work. While a college student of English Literature might need that skill, I am here to tell you that in the entire 77 years of my life I have never been asked nor needed to know for any job I’ve had the difference between a metaphor and a simile. But how to use a drill… hell yes and a whole lot more they DID NOT teach in public school!! And the result is a rising tide of young people that think free stuff is … well… free.
My family and I went to a tree farm yesterday, and what a blessing! They had a live Nativity Scene outside with children playing the parts. The narration and music depicted the birth of Christ in a clear and simple way—the way it should be—and the little girl playing Mary looked upon “Jesus” (the baby doll) with gleaming eyes of love and joy—yep, even at her young age, the natural motherly instincts are there. 😀❤️😀
I love this time of year! I had a co worker and friend of many years who I got together or spoke with (or texted with) on a fairly regular basis. She left the library before me and retired early - 62 - with her husband to follow their dream of living in the country.
Long story short, they ended up getting a small fixer upper back in Michigan where she was from originally, so our correspondence became less regular. The last time I spoke with her was last November by text when I got a message from her saying they were coming back to CO to visit their daughter and might be looking to move back part time. We talked lunch and I waited to hear. Nothing.
So, I texted a week later. I got this: "I come next weekend. I've health problem but fine in get the you then". ?? That was 11/2/24.
On 11/23/24 I still had no word, so I sent my Thanksgiving card (text) asking if she was OK. This is her reply: "Hod". It got worse from there.
I sent my Thanksgiving card (text) this year and her husband replied, "She is unable to reply. Please contact me if you want more info." I called the number he provided immediately.
My friend had a stroke which became a brain tumor. I went to visit her yesterday in the facility her family has placed her in...my visit was about ten minutes worth as she did not speak, did not move - other than her head which focused on me briefly. I'd brought a couple little gifts and when I got down at eye level to show her, I Know I saw the smallest of movements I can only call a smile. It was so small I'd have missed it if not being at face level. She drifted off from me after that.
We are of two different worlds. Hers from very liberal (adamantly) non religious. Mine more tempered, raised to attend, conservative. But, I liked her and we managed.

I can't Know it is growing, that it is available to the many, that it is vibrant other than to see it here. I just have to place my faith in humanity to realize we must find each other and seek, thru the Spiritual side of us, to create understanding.
Growing up, the “Christmas Season” was always a magical time of the year for me. I’ll always remember this one cold snowy December day walking home after a basketball game, I was 12 years old and played on the Dedham Recreation. It was cold and dark and the snow was already on the ground, I finally was getting home from the long walk across town after the game. I walked into my house and there was my mother decorating the Christmas Tree. She had already put the lights in the windows and the garland on the mantel. She always made Christmas special for us kids. Christmas was once the best holiday.
Yesterday I came across a local story that has gone national. A local reverend Stephan Josoma at Saint Susanna’s parish here in Dedham, had set up the nativity scene without the baby Jesus, Mary or Joseph in it. He placed a sign saying ICE Was Here. The obvious presumption being that ice agents had taken all three of them and that they somehow were illegal aliens. Below it in smaller letters it says the holy family is safe in our church implying that Jesus and the holy family had sought refuge in the church. You would like to think the archdiocese in Massachusetts would step in and stop this politicization of Christmas through the church, I would sure like to see that, but they do nothing. They allow this priest to push illegality on the parish. This same priest has pulled similar shows of blasphemy in the past. It’s pretty obvious, at least around here (Massachusetts), the Catholic Church leadership has pledged its allegiance to the democrat party even over God and Jesus. Trafficking Illegal immigrants into America is not only illegal but it’s big business, and the Catholic Church has made millions of needed dollars on open borders and illegal immigration. As always, it’s all about the money.
Now I’m no theologian but Jesus was a subject of the Roman Empire. Well Bethlehem, Nazareth and Egypt were all part of the Roman Empire, so Jesus and the Holy Family never broke immigration laws. In fact nations and borders are spoken of over and over again in the scriptures. There are walls with watchmen and armies at those walls to protect cities, nations and the people inside those walls. Not anyone could just enter the city or country.
People always speak of what’s in the Bible, what it says, they nitpick about what the words mean. Sometimes you need to focus on what it doesn’t say. It would be a perfect story wouldn’t it be, if when Mary and Joseph got to Bethlehem and the first door they knocked on they were welcomed in, sure use my house, it’s yours, take it over. Imagine if then Mary gave birth to Jesus right there on the living room floor of a strangers house, it would have been the perfect narrative for the open borders crowd, but that’s not what happened. All the doors that were knocked on were slammed shut. It’s human nature for a person and their family to be secure in their home and then of coarse be generous to others, not selfish in a bad way. Anyone you let into your home you want to know and have some trust. You’re not going to open your door to just any random stranger knocking at your door. Sometimes you have to look at what’s in the Bible and what’s not. This is why Jesus was born in a manger. Did this priest not learn this in seminary? I’d love to ask him why are there 40 foot walls around the Vatican?
One more point for your Sunday reading pleasure😁. What is heaven? Heaven is a Kingdom, the Kingdom of God. You don’t just walk into the Kingdom of God, there’s a gate and if there’s a gate I assume there are walls. Not just anyone is allowed into heaven. You must live a life of faith, you are judged, and if you are found worthy you are allowed to enter.
There are other places for people that break the laws of a nation. Maybe reverend Josoma should think about his fate before he performs his acts of blasphemy here on earth. Maybe give a homily of how we shouldn’t tolerate the rampant abortion here in the state of Massachusetts or the constant assault on marriage and family, or how about speaking out against radical LGBTQ plus agenda, NO? It seems many churches in Massachusetts main agenda that flows onto the pulpit is breaking the law by allowing in illegal aliens and their push for citizens to break the law, house or help house these illegal invaders and for struggling people to pay for this.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just enjoy Christmas again, focus on the birth of Jesus, and his life, like when we were kids, without all the politics!

Stephan Josoma, is theologically, Biblically, and historically illiterate. As you pointed out, the Roman Empire had roads extending throughout the known world, and traveling and living in Egypt did not qualify Jesus’ as an illegal alien, they just left one jurisdiction to another, like moving from NYC to Florida—I now understand why the left hates the targeting of the drug boats—their ideology is lawless and their thinking is depraved.
In heaven, there are no illegals—only those who have trusted in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Salvation is a gift from God that was paid for by the death of Christ. The thief on the cross is an example of how one comes to Christ. He like the other thief was cursing Jesus, then something happened in his heart—he stopped cursing Jesus (repentance) and asked Him to remember him when he enters His Kingdom (trusting in the King of the Kingdom) for eternal life. Jesus promised that he would be with Him that very day.
The salvation he received simply came from repenting from his sin and his view of Jesus, and simply trusting in Him to save him. His gaze was solely upon Jesus. He did not have to go through a church, priest, preacher, baptism, Lord’s Supper, perform good works, or any religious ritual—it was simply trusting in the One who died for him.
So it is today. One does not have to go through the church, priest, preacher, Baptism, Lord’s Supper, perform good works, or do any religious rituals, to be forgiven by Jesus—he paid it all on the cross, and said, “It is finished.” A one time sacrifice that allows a personal relationship with God through Jesus and Jesus alone—our only hope. 🤗
I always hesitate to give my perspective on religion as what people usually worship, rather than the One Who is the Reason for the religion because I am a rogue Christian. Meaning I chose the lonely path of seeking a personal relationship with Christ rather than filtered through manmade dogma. Tell me how many denominations of Christianity are there? Which one would Jesus tell us to follow?

In today's society, without others around us to encourage & perhaps point the directional finger, finding Christ is a HARD JOB. Most people today have not learned how to work hard. Seeking truth is simply not easy. One must dig through a lot of stuff to find it & even then it's like the people saying it's Here; It's There' It's not where you are! Christ wants us to help each other as it is in giving that we receive. Nothing satisfies like helping someone else whether it be pulling on their boots, or guiding them to a different place in their mental and spiritual realm.

I'm not a Catholic, I was raised in the SDA church, but fair is fair. I believe the Catholic church is no better or worse than any of the Protestant churches. (Or other religions, for that matter.) There are good and bad people in all the churches... I was the church treasurer for several years in my church, was a member of the church board, and saw plenty to make me realize that yes, even my church, had it's fair share of hypocrites. (I don't attend church anymore... Just have always found it more fulfilling to worship outside, in God's creation.)

I was raised with a Catholic stepmother, I read the stories for children about Jesus and later on loved the rebelliousness and the questioning he did. Jesus was no fool and the times were tough. He was called a heretic and died for the position he took concerning his statements about many things. The missing 13 years in the Bible, concerning what and where Jesus was, is an example of censorship. A few other things have been changed and omitted for the same reasons. I have read a lot about the life and teachings of Jesus from esoteric sources (Edgar Cayce for one) to be able to get a more realistic picture. We have not been told the whole picture or story...

Well James, I like your thinking, just one point which you did not seem to be clear on, and one that is the most important amongst all you have written. You wrote, "You must live a life of faith, you are judged, and if you are found worthy you are allowed to enter." That is not what the Words of the Lord tell us about how we can be made right before Him and welcomed into eternal life.
It is not by our works (ie "living a life of faith") that "makes us worthy". There is nothing we can do to be worthy to enter internal life with the Lord. It is what Christ did on the cross in paying the penalty for our sins with His shed blood. It is only accepting that great gift of sacrifice that allows us to be welcomed into the next life. For those who are found in Christ, they will not be judged. Jesus took our sins on himself and was judged by the Father, convicted, and then was sentenced, paying the penalty on the cross to death. Those in Christ cannot be judged as the sentence has already been executed. This is even how our earthly "justice" system works, you don't stand before the judge after the penalty has been carried out and the time served. There are lots of Bible passages that confirm this, I'll let you go after them for yourself.
It is those people who have rejected the Lord's great gift of redemption who will experience being judged. This make sense, as since they have rejected the penalty Christ paid for their sins, no sentence has been carried out for them, thus they are judged and then sentenced.
As an example that, it is not "living a life faith" that is required to be judged "worthy ", I offer one of the thieves who were crucified beside Jesus (possibly a couple of guys that ran with Barabbas), one of these convicts expresses faith in Christ while hanging there beside Him. Christ then reassures this convict, " I tell you this, today you will be with Me in paradise". It is quite obvious, that this man would not qualify for heaven under the criteria of "living a life of faith". It was the thief's simple profession of faith, that Jesus was who He claimed to be, that saved this man from an eternity separated from God.
For those in Christ, as opposed to being judged, it appears that there will be something of an "awards ceremony" for believers in Jesus, but this is a recognition of what we did to further the Gospel while we were alive, our faithfulness in living for Christ. This though has nothing to do with what gets us to that awards ceremony in the first place. I am also no theologian, but these are tenants of the Faith, and the pure Gospel message. Just to be clear.

So many LOL funnies it’s hard to pick one but I think I’ll comment on the instructions for cooking bacon. I hired a high school graduate to help pack our product (Crayon Rocks… still sold world wide though I’m retired) and she was asked to bore holes in our tags with our drill press. After stripping the gears on the press and breaking the drill bit and ruining several hundred tags, a coworker noticed. She said she had no idea what was wrong because she pressed down as hard as she could. The coworker asked if she had thought about turning the drill motor on. She said she didn’t know you had to. The reason she is so ignorant (not stupid because she had an average IQ and knew far more the I did about her cell phone) is because this generation was told to meet standards set by the DOE (Department of Education which followed the No Child Left Behind mandates). These intellectual ignoramuses decided that fourth graders (this is an actual competency test question asked every year) needed to know and identify the difference between a metaphor and a simile. Not how common household tools work. While a college student of English Literature might need that skill, I am here to tell you that in the entire 77 years of my life I have never been asked nor needed to know for any job I’ve had the difference between a metaphor and a simile. But how to use a drill… hell yes and a whole lot more they DID NOT teach in public school!! And the result is a rising tide of young people that think free stuff is … well… free.

My family and I went to a tree farm yesterday, and what a blessing! They had a live Nativity Scene outside with children playing the parts. The narration and music depicted the birth of Christ in a clear and simple way—the way it should be—and the little girl playing Mary looked upon “Jesus” (the baby doll) with gleaming eyes of love and joy—yep, even at her young age, the natural motherly instincts are there. 😀❤️😀
I love this time of year! Looking back at Jesus’ birth, we have eternal hope, and it’s a reminder that our nation was founded upon the Gospel of Christ, and we need to defend America so the Light of the World (Jesus) can be seen by all nations, ethnic groups, and language groups. This I will defend.

I had a co worker and friend of many years who I got together or spoke with (or texted with) on a fairly regular basis. She left the library before me and retired early - 62 - with her husband to follow their dream of living in the country.
Long story short, they ended up getting a small fixer upper back in Michigan where she was from originally, so our correspondence became less regular. The last time I spoke with her was last November by text when I got a message from her saying they were coming back to CO to visit their daughter and might be looking to move back part time. We talked lunch and I waited to hear. Nothing.
So, I texted a week later. I got this: "I come next weekend. I've health problem but fine in get the you then". ?? That was 11/2/24.
On 11/23/24 I still had no word, so I sent my Thanksgiving card (text) asking if she was OK. This is her reply: "Hod". It got worse from there.
I sent my Thanksgiving card (text) this year and her husband replied, "She is unable to reply. Please contact me if you want more info." I called the number he provided immediately.
My friend had a stroke which became a brain tumor. I went to visit her yesterday in the facility her family has placed her in...my visit was about ten minutes worth as she did not speak, did not move - other than her head which focused on me briefly. I'd brought a couple little gifts and when I got down at eye level to show her, I Know I saw the smallest of movements I can only call a smile. It was so small I'd have missed it if not being at face level. She drifted off from me after that.
We are of two different worlds. Hers from very liberal (adamantly) non religious. Mine more tempered, raised to attend, conservative. But, I liked her and we managed.
So, I needed some levity, some humor, some belief in a higher power today. This is why I come here. This is community. There is that Oh So Needed Need. I can't Know it is growing, that it is available to the many, that it is vibrant other than to see it here. I just have to place my faith in humanity to realize we must find each other and seek, thru the Spiritual side of us, to create understanding.
