Happy Easter. If there’s ever a day during the year that we all should appreciate the gift of today it’s Easter. It seems too many days are spent worrying. We worry about what happened yesterday or we’re always trying to rush through today to get to tomorrow. It seems if we’re not living in the past we’re trying to live in the future. If we constantly worry about how things are going to work out it’s doing two things, it’s stealing the gift of right now and it’s not allowing God to work in our life. God works where there’s faith. Faith is simply trusting. God I may not understand how this is going to work, but I know you’re in control, I’m handing these worries over to you. Isn’t Easter Sunday a perfect day for that?

I don’t know how many days I’ve wasted worrying and nothing ever comes of it. Every day is a gift. We are supposed to enjoy all our days, it’s a decision we make. We should not dread any part of our day. God thank you I can work, God thank you I’m strong enough to cut the lawn, God thank you for my family. To many of us think someday I’ll be able to enjoy my life. We should enjoy our day right now.

We never know how long we have here. We shouldn’t take people in our life for granted. Sometimes we go years without talking to family or a friend because they may have said something that offended us. If we knew this was our last Easter, here, would what they had said really matter. Would we leave this earth still holding that grudge.

Last week I went to a wake for the wife of a childhood friend, she was only 57 years old. When we were younger we all hung around together. At the wake there were all beautiful flowers and I noticed every one had nice things to say about Sue. Maybe we should learn to give flowers while people are still here. If you have something good to say about me, do me a favor, say it while I’m here not after I’m gone. We never know when someone will no longer be here.

I heard a story about this daughter. She got at odds with her father over this young man she was dating. The father didn’t really approve of him, he didn’t think it was the best for her. This young lady gave her father the cold shoulder. For several years she didn’t want anything to do with him. The father tried to reach out to her, be loving, and kind but she stayed bitter and angry and just totally ignored him.

One day she got a call her father had a heart attack and was on his way to the hospital. This changed everything, all the barriers came down. She rushed up there as fast as she could. The father was a young man he was in his early fifties. There in the emergency room between them working on him the father asked the nurse for a pen and paper to write a note. Two hours later, before his daughter was able to get to the hospital her father died. When she came in the doctors had to tell her the bad news, of coarse she was devastated. How am I going to live with myself knowing I didn’t make peace with my father? Soon the nurse came out and handed her the note, she said your father was holding this note when he passed, it was addressed to you. The note read Dear Sarah, I love you, I forgive you, please forgive me. Today she carries that note with her everywhere she goes.

If we are at odds with someone how are we going to feel if they’re taken away without being able to make things right. We may not be able to be the best of friends, but certainly we are able to be at peace with each other. There are so many people that have regrets, and there’s always opportunity to be the bigger person just for the sake of peace. It may be hard and it may be unfair but it may let you live without carrying the burden of regret. Today pick up the phone, do the right thing, be the bigger person, have a Happy Easter 😇😇. Indeed James! Relationships are so important and instead of complaining that we have to go to work we should rejoice and say, “I get to go to work today!”

God is Good, and provided His Son for us! Celebrate His Resurrection. 🤗

How absolutely and beautifully said, James.

When we see the sun setting, we know we will never live this day again.

When we see the sun rise, we know we have a new day full of opportunity—a day to live our lives making choices so that we never have to think, “I could have”, or, “I should have”, or, “If only”. No regrets. It’s life learning. It’s life rewarding, it’s literally life “giving” to all those that we encounter.

This glorious day and I open my eyes to all things possible. Two little wrens want to make their home in my front door wreaths. Three little plants poke themselves up thru the dirt in my garden. The sun shines and is melting the snow to provide water to the earth. I will talk with family/friends and wish all the peace and happiness of this day of wonder.

Thank you again, James for reminding each of us to love what we have in the moment!🥰

Yes, let me summarize your homily: GRATITUDE DRAWS GODS BLESSINGS.

God almighty maker of heaven and earth, Holy Mary mother of Jesus, and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, bless this day and thank you so much for James Goodrich , whose priceless words draw me closer to You and divine wisdom.

To make peace on earth, let not one day go by without telling someone what you are grateful for, especially your family members! That devotional will smooth over all kinds of ills and in the process make room in your heart for the influx of God’s blessings.

This helps me as I sit with my dear mother (87 in August) in Fair Oaks Hospital who has some challenging symptoms and for which we don’t yet have a clear path to treatment.

I have faith in God and in this very conscientious team of talented caregivers, doctors and nurses.

Faith, health, family and friends is my priority.

The rest is just a game we play.

And yes, our spiritual light can be contagious and attractive to those with who we have been gifted to find along our journey.

As Bobby Kennedy spoke today in Nashville about his path through addiction and toward finding sobriety and spiritual awakening, he shared his approach to seeing God even in those folks he doesn’t particularly like.

What is the interaction with the man who flips him the bird in traffic meant to teach him?

Our lives can be an incredible quest to uncover our own divinity, even if this smacks of conceit, the self is exchanged for the surrender to our original spiritual nature which was created God in his own image.

I am grateful to be in some small way connected to this community.

God Bless Us One and All!

“now”, to get right with God, family, and friends, because death frequently pays an unexpected visit.

Assuming, James, you'd like to turbocharge your intellectual horsepower via one single soft cover book, check out The PRESIDENT MAKERS "How Billionaires Control U.S. and Foreign Policy" - by Don Fotheringham - available via AMAZON (as is my review a decade ago of Don's BLOCK BUSTER EXPOSE)!

A word about Don - a dear friend, mentor, constitutional scholar - now 96 years of age; a U.S. Marine Veteran who fought in WWII in the Pacific Theater and survived the battles at Iwo Jima and the Marshall Islands Campaigns. Don wrote "TPM" after many years of research as to just what-the hell was (and STILL IS) going on INSIDE the U.S. federal government! The first printing of TPM was in 2013.

If you order a copy of this profusely illustrated book, I suggest you flip through it once or twice, but before starting at the beginning, 1st read and absorb Chapter Thirty: The CFR/White House Alliance.

Then spread the word!

Sincerely, TD

Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Some time before my mom passed away, I told her that when it’s my turn to die, do me a favor. Tell everyone in heaven to get out of my way, because the First person I wanted to see is the One who died for me and paid my debt of sin. It’s all about Jesus.

Here is my prayer: It’s Paul’s desire in Philippians 3:10, using the AMP Bible.

(For my determined purpose is) that I may know Him—that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding (the wonders of His Person) more strongly and more clearly. And that I may in that same way come to know the power out-flowing from His resurrection (the power it exerts over believers); and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed (in spirit into His likeness even) to His death.

Happy Resurrection Sunday!

First, the good news is that the war is won, the bill paid, the final pure sacrifice has been accomplished. It is finished. They can kill my body but they cannot have my soul.

However there are still battles to be fought. I fear we (especially Americans) have been lulled into a comfort zone over the last several hundred years, trusting that our beliefs and creeds are Teflon coated and cannot be overcome.

This morning, before dawn of the holiest day in Christendom, I opened my laptop and found that Google, the supposed champion of all things diverse, isn't even displaying bunnies and colorful eggs this year. Gave me pause. What changed? What influenced that corporate decision? Worth noting me thinks.

When the news reports that citizens are under threat of being arrested for praying in their own homes, I'd say it's time to wake up, reject compromise, and brace for impact.

How long do we have before celebrating 'Easter' is banned?

Expand full comment
Swabbie Robbie's avatar

We see what entities like google are. They show us. We reject them. Such entities have most all of the money, the power to influence and corrupt. but we see them for what they are. No matter how much the corporate world works to make this about bunnies and colored eggs and chocolate treats, = making all Holy Days about commerce and sales, we know it is not.

They tried to ban celebration of these days with families friends and in churches during Covid, but ultimately failed. They cannot ban Easter even if they burned all the churches, because we the people are the church.

Swabbie Robbie, I'm also concerned 😰 about them trying to ban our religious events.

I think that satan is more cunning and evil.

They're erasing our religious celebrations by converting them into events about gifts 🎁, bunnies 🐰 and eggs 🥚 🪺 so the message is diluted and eventually the REAL MEANING is forgotten ⁉️‼️⁉️🤷‍♀️🤷🤷🏻‍♂️

Expand full comment
Swabbie Robbie's avatar

From what I have read there are many people coming back or coming for the 1st time to the churches. Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches primarily, but a lot of Protestant Churches as well. Maybe they are seeing what the secular life is delivering isn't all that fulfilling, or they sense "something evil this way comes". Also, store bought gifts and things have no meaning. We can buy them anytime. Perhaps a drawing by a child, a toy made by Grandpa, a sweater or quilt made by grandma is what will really be treasured for life. Satan, the father of lies can't stand against truth and love.
