Some thought He would issue the sentence but how would that be loving? The King sat down and decided the sentence was just, the punishment must fall so the decree will stand.
One day the entire kingdom was gathered. The Kings daughter was marched out towards the podium in front of all the people. She was bent over the podium and the shirt on her back was ripped open. The executioner stood there with the whip in his hand. He began to raise the whip to administer the first lash, the King shouted stop. A silence fell over the crowd. The King strode toward the podium removing His shirt, He bent down and wrapped his body around his daughters, looked over his shoulder and said now hit her. The executioner objected and said but King these lashes are going to fall on you. The King said the sentence must stand, it is just, now hit her.
So 40 lashes fell on the body of the King that protected the body of his daughter and he died in the stead of his daughter.
So what happened in the story, the King was both just because payment of the sin had to be made and the King was the justifier of the ungodly, you see his daughter went free because the King had taken the penalty.
This explains why Jesus needed to die on the Cross. God is just, so payment for sin has to be made. Penalty for sin had to be made but God is love so he made the payment himself. For the wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord; Romans 6:23.

I read the information you stated and wondered about it. There were no printed bibles, until the 1450s...only many thousands of scrolls. The Gutenberg Bible was 1286 printed pages. It was not as large as the ones that I read were chained to walls. . Most people could not read or write. even 200 years ago...Earlier on, only the very wealthy could afford tutors to teach their children to read and write. Many in the clergy had the ability to read and write, too.. The Roman Catholic Church suppressed scientific information - and stated that the sun revolved around the earth. Heretics who said otherwise were executed. Knowledge was very limited.
I think you may have just missed the message. For one we don’t know the daughter was unrepentant or that she would become a leader. When people ask if Jesus was the son of God how or why would he be crucified on the cross? Jesus took the punishment for human sin upon himself, acting as a substitute so that people could be reconciled with God.
Thanks James for the story, you always have wonderful way of communicating your views. I view the story not as an issue concerning justice or God requiring payment but as a fatherly sacrifice to save his daughter who I still consider guilty and a failure for allowing her father to suffer for her crime. Like Science is Political I believe God is everywhere, visible, audible, conscious and felt. God, heaven and hell all reside within our minds and whatever crimes/sins are committed they can never be fully erased. The daughter has allowed/is responsible for her fathers death thereby creating her entrance into hell since she will never forget it was her fault. The pain suffered by the daughters memory regardless of time, “60 seconds can be an eternity”, is unrelenting and forever a burden she must carry on her own.
As we were driving up north for our vacation we saw miles and miles of a solar panel farm and multitudes of wind farm structures along M127 that once was farmland. How sad and disgusting. Your meme about solar panels on roofs is right on. Wind farms need to go as well. We have abundant oil and gas, as well as, safe nuclear energy. Let’s go there. We must save the planet from those who say they want to save the planet. Loved those 2 memes.

There was a solar panel farm in the desert of Nevada, for from a city. From my recollection, they shut it down, one reason was that the panels killed birds in the area, besides not producing enough energy for municipal use. Research that—can’t find an app to do it for me. 🤩
I live in Nevada. If that's the one on the dry lake-bed at the California state line; that is the California side. And yes they shut it down after spending billions of dollars. It was inefficient! They typically said it killed over 6000 birds per year. Now it sits, rotting in the desert sun.
When I was young I used to love seeing the wind farms during our road trips as it let me know how far we were from the destination. They were mesmerizing when I started at the rows as we were traveling by. We also called them windmills which harkened to the ones in the Netherlands I saw in books. Now I see them and all I feel is disgust. Sometimes I wish I knew less about everything that has gone awry in our Country, it is easier being young and Naive.
Solar panel “farm” rotting in the sun-I’m assuming all of the materials used in the farm are obviously not biodegradable then. Now, what to do with all those panels? My question for the experts in this area is, could any part of “a panel” or panels, be used for other purposes, other than rotting in the sun & the eyesore must be expansive on old farm land? Excellent point, Alan. I fear you are right. We’ve seen so many paid protesters for everything that I wouldn’t be surprised at the hypocrisy of it all. The wind farms, on land and in the waters must go.
I can remember Green Peace chasing down and hampering whaling operations in the oceans back in the 60’s and ‘70’s, their efforts eventually ran those whalers out of business, saving the whales. Now installation of wind farms in waters off the MA and NJ coast has caused a major increase in beached whales in the area. Where are the environmentalists now? If the whales were endangered by an industry that killed for useful products that were sold at markets, then how can we justify harming those whales to install wind farms in the ocean? These whales have inhabited this coastline for centuries, why the environmental movement hasn’t had any objection, begs the question, is the environmental movement a tool that used to protect certain agendas and can be activated when environmentalism benefits those pulling the strings but left dormant when climate scares are the narrative? Have all those Green Peace members been bought off by climate catastrophists, trading one harm for another?
This is a true story about a rarely-used parking app:
I drove my wife to a municipal office in town. I had to park using a certain parking app already installed on my phone. I tried to enter the location code, but not recognized. Tried another two or three times, still nothing. Then I realized the app was probably out of date. I searched the app but couldn't find an update button. (There was no automatic reminder either.) So, I go to the appstore and to upload the app again. The appstore told me it's already on my phone. (No kidding.) Luckily, it said that I need to update it. So I hit the update button. Then the app could recognize the location code. I tried to pay, but was told my cc is out of date. So I enter all necessary details for my updated cc. But for final approval I need to go to my banking app to authorize the updated cc. The banking app was also out of date. So, I had to update that app, with necessary logins, authorization codes, etc. Finally, I notify the bank to approve the new cc for the parking app. I navigate to the parking app, but it timed out. So I reopened the app and finally lined everything up and paid the parking fee. The ordeal took at least 20 minutes and minimum a couple hundred buttons using my fat fingers, which make for a lot of errors and re-dos.
As I look up from my phone, I see my wife leaving the office having completed her business!
THAT should be on the front page of NYT and every tech-y app-y magazine or web page or whatever communication APP they use. Obscene in a ‘value of time’ sense!
I had a similar type experience just this week navigating the PERMISSION to volunteer in a nursing home where I’ve been helping for 3 yrs!!! I spent better part of 2 days…..

This happened to me also, but my phone battery was low and it wouldn’t update the app! Then last weekend we went to another place in husband’s car and he had to download the app and set it up and enter cc info etc and finally pay - the rates were not posted - to find out it cost us $27 to park. Did not know until after we paid. No short term parking. This was Fort Worth Texas - in the stockyards area - not even downtown. And we had already paid so there was no way to cancel it. I will drive around next time to find a manned lot if I can.

An App here, an App there, everywhere there’s an App.App! That is time consuming! I know technology moves quite quickly, but I don’t like the fact everything requires an app! I received an “E-Bill” notification on my extremely outdated cell phone (at least 10 years old now), for an overnight ‘observation care’ stay recently at a local hospital. I have never heard of an “E-Bill”- so I clicked : ‘STOP’ on my phone. I’m so out-of-touch with new & updated technology/cell phone updates, I was not going to risk paying a bill via cell phone! My adult kids do- not me! I will keep writing checks…!

Allow me to stand and cheer for the exposure of what I refer to as app insanity. It's most certainly out of control and I have a story.
I've been dealing with a bad hip. Have to trade the old one in for a new one. I signed up with a corporate run physical therapy company. PT comes on Monday mornings. Then he sends me exercise assignments on my phone. Two choices - download the app or click on web link. They keep wanting me to download the app though but I can't. Since I upgraded to OS 26 everything is rearranged. I can't download a free app without putting in my Apple password. But it won't accept my password. I changed my password, got the confirmation code. Nope. I watched numerous Youtube vids trying to explain how to reset the iphone to download free apps. Nope. All different because... each Youtuber was on a different OS.
Conclusion - ITs have to have a reason for being so just because something works well does not mean it should not be rearranged, renamed, resorted into another catagory.
I really really really don't belong here anymore. 🙄

Work Around is one of my many middle names. I always have plan b. I admit I am old school. The IT who taught me how to code back in 1999, told me - keep it simple. Design with the end user in mind. Over the years, this philosophy has been usurped by ego. I am so sorry that I upgraded to OS 26 - I don't need ghosty buttons that move around. I don't need everything rearranged and renamed. Pax Silica is a horror the world should not be forced to endure. Like the COVID era on steroids. So the big question, and the obvious one, is what can we do to stop this? We don’t have answers and the excellent video and article linked above doesn’t either. However, we all can do a few things to slow down the Pax Silica train:
• Do not comply with Digital ID in any form.
• Dump your smart phones. They are personal tracking devices. (Yes, separating from smart phones is difficult for many, but dumb non-internet connected flip phones work fine for voice and text once you lose your addiction to smart phones. Dumb phones are still somewhat trackable because they ping cell towers, but much less so than smart phones.)
PROG / I hand wash my dishes for two so fast it would make your head spin. Much less water, electricity and heat. Loading and unloading no more, a simple dryer rack works great.
Our 2 year old dishwasher started leaking 4-5 years ago. We replaced the seal, cleaned out the water hardness, etc. Didn't leak for a while, then leaked when no one was around and ruined some of our flooring. My husband and I now hand wash/dry dishes together. It has become a wonderful time for us to reconnect at the end of the day and we have no desire to go back to the automatic dishwasher.
We have a dumb refrigerator and other appliances. No " in the door " ice or water. We have to open the freezer and scoop the ice. Oh the inconvenience.
My speed queen washing machine cycles have a dial!! No touch pad.
Skunk and,dog. Had 2 labs that got skunked. Made the female lab (she was boss dog) very mad and a few days later had to dispose of a skunks carcass..and deskunk 2 labs again
I had two dogs that my neighbors called "the best skunkers they'd ever seen". On the rare occasion my dogs got out (by digging under the fence), the neighbors never complained, because there were always a couple of dead skunks. Juneau (Samoyed/shepherd cross) was the header and Sammi (supermutt) was the heeler (so guess who got sprayed). I had a chance to see exactly how good a skunker Juneau was one day when I went out riding. Juneau rushed into a bush and came out with a skunk in her mouth. I hollered at her and the skunk ran off--without spraying, glad, I suppose, to be alive to run and spray another day.
My worst skunk story was the time my two malamutes came home not only skunked, but covered with blood and carrying the carcass. We bathed them outside in tomato juice. And it was winter!!
I’ve used that as well but my son added another 2 steps after the first wash: use lemon or lime juice, rinse and then wash with dog shampoo! No lingering odor at all
I do my best not to use them apps! Always keep a laptop by me (so that I can use websites instead) and delete from my phone immediately things I don't need.

Solar panel “farm” rotting in the sun-I’m assuming all of the materials used in the farm are obviously not biodegradable then. Now, what to do with all those panels? My question for the experts in this area is, could any part of “a panel” or panels, be used for other purposes, other than rotting in the sun & the eyesore must be expansive on old farm land? I don’t know the answer, so I better get my rear-in-gear-to research that!

Excellent point, Alan. I fear you are right. We’ve seen so many paid protesters for everything that I wouldn’t be surprised at the hypocrisy of it all. The wind farms, on land and in the waters must go.
I can remember Green Peace chasing down and hampering whaling operations in the oceans back in the 60’s and ‘70’s, their efforts eventually ran those whalers out of business, saving the whales. Now installation of wind farms in waters off the MA and NJ coast has caused a major increase in beached whales in the area. Where are the environmentalists now? If the whales were endangered by an industry that killed for useful products that were sold at markets, then how can we justify harming those whales to install wind farms in the ocean? These whales have inhabited this coastline for centuries, why the environmental movement hasn’t had any objection, begs the question, is the environmental movement a tool that used to protect certain agendas and can be activated when environmentalism benefits those pulling the strings but left dormant when climate scares are the narrative? Have all those Green Peace members been bought off by climate catastrophists, trading one harm for another?

This is a true story about a rarely-used parking app:
I drove my wife to a municipal office in town. I had to park using a certain parking app already installed on my phone. I tried to enter the location code, but not recognized. Tried another two or three times, still nothing. Then I realized the app was probably out of date. I searched the app but couldn't find an update button. (There was no automatic reminder either.) So, I go to the appstore and to upload the app again. The appstore told me it's already on my phone. (No kidding.) Luckily, it said that I need to update it. So I hit the update button. Then the app could recognize the location code. I tried to pay, but was told my cc is out of date. So I enter all necessary details for my updated cc. But for final approval I need to go to my banking app to authorize the updated cc. The banking app was also out of date. So, I had to update that app, with necessary logins, authorization codes, etc. Finally, I notify the bank to approve the new cc for the parking app. I navigate to the parking app, but it timed out. So I reopened the app and finally lined everything up and paid the parking fee. The ordeal took at least 20 minutes and minimum a couple hundred buttons using my fat fingers, which make for a lot of errors and re-dos.
As I look up from my phone, I see my wife leaving the office having completed her business!
THAT should be on the front page of NYT and every tech-y app-y magazine or web page or whatever communication APP they use. Obscene in a ‘value of time’ sense!
I had a similar type experience just this week navigating the PERMISSION to volunteer in a nursing home where I’ve been helping for 3 yrs!!! I spent better part of 2 days…..

This happened to me also, but my phone battery was low and it wouldn’t update the app! Then last weekend we went to another place in husband’s car and he had to download the app and set it up and enter cc info etc and finally pay - the rates were not posted - to find out it cost us $27 to park. Did not know until after we paid. No short term parking. This was Fort Worth Texas - in the stockyards area - not even downtown. And we had already paid so there was no way to cancel it. I will drive around next time to find a manned lot if I can.

An App here, an App there, everywhere there’s an App.App! That is time consuming! I know technology moves quite quickly, but I don’t like the fact everything requires an app! I received an “E-Bill” notification on my extremely outdated cell phone (at least 10 years old now), for an overnight ‘observation care’ stay recently at a local hospital. I have never heard of an “E-Bill”- so I clicked : ‘STOP’ on my phone. I’m so out-of-touch with new & updated technology/cell phone updates, I was not going to risk paying a bill via cell phone! My adult kids do- not me! I will keep writing checks…!

Allow me to stand and cheer for the exposure of what I refer to as app insanity. It's most certainly out of control and I have a story.
I've been dealing with a bad hip. Have to trade the old one in for a new one. I signed up with a corporate run physical therapy company. PT comes on Monday mornings. Then he sends me exercise assignments on my phone. Two choices - download the app or click on web link. They keep wanting me to download the app though but I can't. Since I upgraded to OS 26 everything is rearranged. I can't download a free app without putting in my Apple password. But it won't accept my password. I changed my password, got the confirmation code. Nope. I watched numerous Youtube vids trying to explain how to reset the iphone to download free apps. Nope. All different because... each Youtuber was on a different OS.
Conclusion - ITs have to have a reason for being so just because something works well does not mean it should not be rearranged, renamed, resorted into another catagory.
I really really really don't belong here anymore. 🙄

Work Around is one of my many middle names. I always have plan b. I admit I am old school. The IT who taught me how to code back in 1999, told me - keep it simple. Design with the end user in mind. Over the years, this philosophy has been usurped by ego. I am so sorry that I upgraded to OS 26 - I don't need ghosty buttons that move around. I don't need everything rearranged and renamed. Like the dude who founded Dyson vacuum cleaners said - I just want things to work properly.
Now thst I am scheduled to turn in my old hip for a new one, I get to jump through a dozen hoops through an online portal. I know there's a meme in there somewhere.

Our 2 year old dishwasher started leaking 4-5 years ago. We replaced the seal, cleaned out the water hardness, etc. Didn't leak for a while, then leaked when no one was around and ruined some of our flooring. My husband and I now hand wash/dry dishes together. It has become a wonderful time for us to reconnect at the end of the day and we have no desire to go back to the automatic dishwasher.

We have a dumb refrigerator and other appliances. No " in the door " ice or water. We have to open the freezer and scoop the ice. Oh the inconvenience.

Skunk and,dog. Had 2 labs that got skunked. Made the female lab (she was boss dog) very mad and a few days later had to dispose of a skunks carcass..and deskunk 2 labs again
I had two dogs that my neighbors called "the best skunkers they'd ever seen". On the rare occasion my dogs got out (by digging under the fence), the neighbors never complained, because there were always a couple of dead skunks. Juneau (Samoyed/shepherd cross) was the header and Sammi (supermutt) was the heeler (so guess who got sprayed). I had a chance to see exactly how good a skunker Juneau was one day when I went out riding. Juneau rushed into a bush and came out with a skunk in her mouth. I hollered at her and the skunk ran off--without spraying, glad, I suppose, to be alive to run and spray another day.
My worst skunk story was the time my two malamutes came home not only skunked, but covered with blood and carrying the carcass. We bathed them outside in tomato juice. And it was winter!!
The best deskunker I ever found was hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and Dawn. The odor dissolves into the air as it's applied.
I’ve used that as well but my son added another 2 steps after the first wash: use lemon or lime juice, rinse and then wash with dog shampoo! No lingering odor at all
