Happy Sunday Everyone. Snow has already started, they’re predicting 24 inches. Here’s a nice warm Sunday message.

No one is perfect, I’d be the first to admit that. And no relationship is perfect either, that’s for certain. We can only do our best to make things as good as they can be. Simple easy positive actions we take can sometimes change things in a positive way. In today’s world, where it’s hard to find something good, we should look for ways to do good for the people around us.

The Note!

A couple of Sundays ago I had mentioned a simple note I wrote complimenting my wife about just some of the wonderful things she does and has done for me and my siblings over many years. I folded the note tight and slipped it into her pocketbook. Almost 2 weeks went by with no sign of her finding the note, it had actually escaped my mind. I took our 2 labs out for a walk and when I got back my wife called me over and with a big smile gave me a kiss and thanked me, a smile like I’ve never seen, she had found the note. She was on her way food shopping and I was parked in front of her which normally would result in “maybe” a snide remark but that day there was patience. The patience has gone beyond being parked in front of her, that simple note, at least for now, helped her to re-see the bond I have too her. It let her know in writing my appreciation for her.

I asked if I could read the note, I didn’t remember exactly what I had written and she said no it’s my note 😊.

A week now has gone by. My wife had worked her shifts at the hospital. Let me say 40 years in an OR my wife has learned to stay out of the office. Many of the staff are in there nearly every day complaining about something or someone. My wife always tries to go directly to the problem and handle it, although I know, as well as she can hide it, I’ve been around a long time, on the inside, she can get hurt.

There was one day one of her many bosses, a guy that is very insecure, had been scolded by the charge nurse earlier that day. When my wife saw him he took his anger out on her with a mean comment, knowing my wife that’s a big mistake. Though this situation is ongoing my wife told me the first thing she thought about was the note I wrote her! What a feeling of trying to do something good and it being successful came over me.

She has kept that note in her pocketbook and has asked if I could write more notes to her, which I will.

Just a piece of advice to you, try this. Send a note to someone you know, someone you think may need it, someone who helped you along the way, someone you want to pick up.

Here’s a short story I think you’ll like;

There was a junior high teacher, who one day saw that her students were very rowdy, they didn’t seem to be interested in learning. The teacher herself was tired and didn’t feel like pushing through it. She told her students to put their books away, take out a clean sheet of paper. Their assignments that day was to write down every students name on the left and then write one good thing they liked about that student.

The students went to work, looking around the room thinking what they liked about each other.

Over the weekend the teacher took the time to write the students name at the top and then she listed all the comments that were written about that individual student. The next Monday she handed the sheets of paper to the appropriate students and they began to read all these comments that were written about them.

The room was just buzzing with electricity. As those students read the comments you could hear the students saying wow I didn’t know they liked me that much, I didn’t know I was good at that, I didn’t know they thought I was beautiful. On and on, those students were on cloud nine. They left that day with more confidence, more self esteem, feeling better about themselves.

Well years later one of the students was killed while serving in Vietnam. Not only the teacher but many of the students attended the funeral. After the service the father of the soldier went up to the teacher and said I want to show you what my son was carrying when he was killed. It’s something he kept in his wallet. He took out this paper and began to unfold it, the teacher realized it was the note that she had copied with all the encouraging comments from her students. The father told how his son treasured that piece of paper. Well when the other students overheard it they began to tell the same story. One man said he keeps his paper in the top drawer at the office. One lady said she put hers in her wedding album next to her wedding pictures. Another man right then and there took out his wallet and he unfolded his as if it was his prize possession.

The teacher was overwhelmed, little did she realize what a lasting impact that little impromptu assignment would have that day.

The message shows everyone needs to be blessed, everyone needs to feel valued, we long for that affirmation.

The idea is we shouldn’t withhold our blessing. Be free with your compliments. Look for people you can build up. Tell them what you like about them. How much you appreciate them. It takes so little effort but it makes such a huge deposit. These are treasures people will carry with them.

Flatter me and I may not believe you.

Criticize me and I may not like you.

But encourage me and I’ll never forget you.

Simple words can make such a difference.

Happy Sunday

Eloquent as always, King James. You bless us all with your words and beautiful spirit. Thank you for sharing!

A story in which we followed the J Goodrich guidance...

This week we wrote and mailed a card to our school superintendent, who is going through the pain of losing her beloved pet cat. We told her we considered her family and offered our sincere condolences over her loss.

When we saw her at a school board meeting earlier in the week, we looked at her normally smiling face and immediately knew something was very wrong. We asked her, and she told us her kitty was very sick and after years of treatment, the only humane thing was to put her pet to sleep. She hoped to spend part of the next day in sunshine with her little friend before helping her pass over the Rainbow Bridge.

We hugged several times before saying goodbye that day, comforting us both.

I was just going to wish you a simple Happy Sunday back and dash off, but James I do love your inspiring words and comments. Thank you so much. Since before I began subscribing to this page, I have been reading both Dr Malones' work, and your comments and feel incredibly blessed to be able to tell you in person how much I appreciate them, especially in my bust disjointed days.

When I graduated from high school in 1969 we already had a wall with the names of students from former classes that had died in Vietnam. I did not personally know any of them. Over the next years they added more to the wall. I knew those names. If only there was a teacher that had made the assignment you mentioned. From my class there was also a list of people who died because of drugs. Perhaps such an assignment would have changed the lives of some of them

Science is Political 2.0's avatar

OH we are the same age..a dear friend of mine.. Charles Smith yes.. that is his name is on that wall. I have been to WALL and it is really a LONG WALK and hard to take since I graduated in 1968. short story: I knew Charles died about three months.. when first got there. Kept track of my friends still do. BUT about 4 years go now on Facebook a woman I didn't know but her brother was Charles posted to our class does anyone know Isabella Musto (my maiden name) and she had just gotten. I can't remember all the details. I think their mother died and she inherited Charles "Purple Heart, died in combat, a photo of him in Vietnam. (which are not legal.. but she got one and I got it too because I took it fast off of Facebook) and a letter that I had written to Charles in my handwriting in 1967 (he was a year older) asking him did he want to go to Virginia Beach with me. along w/ the envelope of Charlie Brown on it.. days of innocence long past. I was FLOORED when I realized that letter was part of Charles legacy to his family heirs. Talk about "small things" meaning something... I wrote to a many friends in Viet nam and three of them came home. I still have a Vietnamese Christmas card I had framed from a friend.. who lives in Arizona now.

This isn't just an empty thought, action makes it work! Excellent for getting an upgrade on evolution hill. These aware moments will make a difference as we look at and experience our lives on the "other side." I am so glad to hear the rest of the story, James. You are a gem.

right on time.

We missed the service today, but NOT the sermon.

A great one James.

thank you.

Thank you James for this beautiful story! It definitely has a positive impact, & as you mention, a long-lasting impact. Very heart-felt! Enjoy your Sunday as well.

James, I just recommended that 'Five Times August' read your post. He made a request similar to yours on X. He is the musician that played at some of the gatherings with Dr. Malone.

James Goodrich's avatar

That’s awesome it’s such a simple idea, costs nothing and I think can make a difference in people around you! Thanks DD!!

Thank you James. Went to church this morning, about a foot had fallen and was around 14 degrees. A number of guys were clearing the walks and stairs. Going past them I called out "Good job men.". One of the fellas said "Thank you.". I've worked with some decent people and that made it easy. I've also worked with lying, horses rear ends. I've always tried to treat people the same way. Of course, sometimes you simply just need to confront the difficult ones. I'm not sure that the outbursts of delusional attacks against ICE in this country can be given a friendly encouragement and they will stop. I know and appreciate who your story is geared to. The responsibility of our local, state and federal governments is to protect the citizens. Previous federal administrations have literally attacked us citizens with their evil intentions and policies.

Keep up the good work Mr. JG... "Find out Zone:"

The Titanic cover-up

The reason behind people thinking that the ship is not really Titanic takes us back to the 20th September 1911 when the Olympic collided with the HMS Hawke just off the coast of the Isle of Wight.

This incident caused many problems for the ship's owners, White Star Line as this meant that it would have to be taken out of service while they repaired it but this also meant that the maiden voyage of Titanic had to be put back from the 20th March to the 10th April. This at the time was something that White Star Line could not afford to do as they had legal bills to pay and the cost of repairing the Olympic as well. This meant that they had to come up with a way to claim back not only the money that they would have missed out on due to Olympic not being in service (loss of revenue) but also the money they couldn’t claim back from the incident. So they came up with a plan…

…The plan was simple, switch Olympic with her sister ship Titanic and sink it to claim compensation. No one would know they had swapped the ships (except the people in charge: J.Bruce Ismay, Lord Pirrie, Thomas Andrews and J.P.Morgan) as if you looked at the ships when they were sitting beside each other you would not know which one was which unless you looked at the name plates on both ships.

Part 3:

"Paddy Fenton is someone who had told his fellow seamen that they were in fact switched.

A man in Australia, sent a letter to the Northern Star newspaper on July 31st 1996, which talks about a conversation his son had with Paddy."

Here's an extract of that letter, "When the surviving crew got to port they were all taken aside and met by two men, one in a high position in the company, the other man was in a very high position in the Government. The Government man read the crew the “Official Secrets Act’ explaining that if they told of the real reason for the sinking, or the rumors of an insurance scam, they would serve a minimum of 20 years in jail and would never get a job when they got out."

*********************

J.P.Morgan was amongst many people who cancelled his trip at the last minute as he was of ill health. When in actual fact he had been spotted in France, two days later and appeared to be in perfectly well health. J. Bruce Ismay's wife Julia and their children also cancelled due to his wife's ill health before however they were spotted on a motoring holiday in Wales.

J.P. Morgan also had seven valuable bronze statues removed one hour before the ship left Southampton. This situation leads many people to believe that they both knew what was about to happen with the ship on its maiden voyage especially after J.P. Morgan had publicly spoken out to the country and certified that he would definitely be aboard the ship. Was the real reason behind this lie from J.P. Morgan due to the fact he knew the ship was going to sink?

Walter Kern had a great observation over at Racket News with Matt Taibbi. He wondered why you didn’t see people protesting FOR ICE countering the loonies and this goes for just about any other protest of late. His reasoning being that when the “right” does finally come out and protest it would be final. What ICE is doing is what the electorate voted for and are sitting back happy that they were heard and getting illegals outta here. If there ever comes a time that the “right” has to come out from their couches or easy chairs it’s going to be final. He imagined when civil unrest starts and the streets become unsafe and houses are being invaded the uprising will be swift and final. It’s a shame that it’s most likely coming to that but if it comes to the final battle for the soul of the nation and all that is good and decent. The Patriots will be ready. The left has wanted this fight and the right has been sitting back watching these libtards ruin our country. I’d be proactive here and tell the left to be very careful with what you wish for because the outcome isn’t going to be what you expected.

Just a thought to add here as the wife and me watch the snow pile up here in Jersey. Reading our Substack’s before I begin making a Shepard’s pie for dinner. Yes, homemade! Yes it is delicious. Relax and recharge today everyone. Watch football and keep the TV off besides that. There’s always tomorrow to see what happened today. Enjoy! Thanks Doc.

Excellent observation. Despite the insanity in MN, the fact remains that most of us still get to lead our normal lives without interruption. Should that change. Should the idiotic leftists think they can disrupt that. Then things will change quickly and hunting Democrats will become sport. And they won't be able to hide easily.

Swabbie Robbie's avatar

Those of us still able to lead normal lives doesn't mean we are not paying attention.

Patricia's avatar

Homemade is absolutely the best- I agree! This past Friday, I made the best Tamale pie, & for two nights, Tamale Pie has been my “left-over-meal” for dinner!

I did see New Jersey did get a bunch of snow, & more to come today? At least, this is what the National weather command on Fox News indicated for y’all!

I do believe the Denver Broncos have a home game today, & the “tailgate Fans” have been gearing up for the game, in this frigid cold! Have a nice, warm day watching your football games!!!

cabystander's avatar

I agree with Kern.

It is estimated that there are about 500M firearms in the US. IMO, they really have no idea. I personally know of a safe that has maybe ten firearms in it that the government has no idea exist. A couple of which are legitimate sniper rifles. Half a dozen more that the government probably knows about.

Ammunition? Could be in the trillions of rounds. Certainly 100's of billions.

When we get in the range of a couple of percent as dangerous as we are portrayed, it is game over.

Mark's avatar

Agree with you James.

Most of my "pretend" lefty acquaintances are really conservatives...they just won't admit it.

They virtue signal and might show up at a protest but are not hard core enough to actually fight one way or the other. They want all the benefits of being "progressive" and refuse to take any responsibility or risk to keep the world running.

Looks like you know cats!! As for Ice, it hurts my heart, literally hurts it, to see how these agents are treated. Directed by the leaders. Trump gets indicted for telling his supporters to PEACEFULLY walk to the Capital. Walz is fine and we'll after directing paid protesters to get violent. Oh, what an upside down time we live in..

Micheal Nash, Ph. D.'s avatar

The ICE riots not properly handled. Arrest and respond to violence...violently. As for the cat bullying his owner....have 2 who love their deck, want to be lolling on it in warm sunshine, and obviously think we are responsible for it being covered in frozen sleet and 24 degrees. Our fault!!!

Trump needs to release the National Guard in large numbers to stop the nonsense in Minnesota. It is totally out of hand. ICE agents should not be expected to deal with these crazies as they try to do their jobs. I don’t care how much the left screams about it. Show strength, damn it!!

Jane Stuart's avatar

Since Walz has called up the National Guard, what is his mission for them, is it to further impede ICE agents? It's a serious question.

GMoody's avatar

The answer is yes, Walz wants war with Trump and our Federal government. Walz is attempting a real insurrection. He must have a ton of stolen taxpayer $ in off shore accounts and needs a major distraction.

Jane Stuart's avatar

There are bad actors of one sort or other who hate this administration and/or this country all across this country. What frightens me most is that if Minnesota doesn't get shut down soon, it will inspire violent uprisings elsewhere. Maybe far and wide.

GMoody's avatar

That’s Walz and other evil Dems plan. They need a civil war of blue states vs Trump in order to create chaos beyond the frozen northern states run by Marxists that intend to defeat our Republic from within.

James Lord's avatar

Remember Kyle Rittenhouse? As a then 17 year-old, he showed up in Wisconsin to help protect private property from the legit chaos, fires, vandalism post-George Floyd. Young man came perilously close to a lengthy prison sentence; was literally chased down the street by a mob after killing his first attacker, Joseph Rosenbaum. Check out the CV of those injured or killed in the incident, and you'll see similarities with Kyle Wagner and his ilk. Oh, and you probably wouldn't have learned much about those CV from MSM.

Meemanator's avatar

I had a flashback to the dad who dared to pray in a sit in at an abortion clinic who had a literal armed swat team swarm his house and drag him off in cuffs in front of his children. And, of course, there's those outrageously violent insurrectionists who walked peacefully into the Capitol. Jailed in squalor for five years - no due process. Hmmmm seems to me it's all about POV and interpretation of words.

James Lord's avatar

I wrote this yesterday:

"Federal perception into fabricated crimes allegedly committed by conservatives who were framed by the Left:

Vision like a hawk’s.

Federal perception into actual crimes committed by the parasitic Left that siphons off tax dollars of Americans and applies them to the destruction of America:

Vision like Stevie Wonder’s."

Meemanator's avatar

I just saw a report that a Minnesota judge refuses to allow a criminal charge against Don Lemon for his part in the raid on the church. So, if the system is now completely corrupted from the top down, what is the solution? I think they just want civil war.

The division of mindsets is not spontaneous and organic. It is a planned process to divide and create division in the minds of Americans. The goal is polarization to create internal strife to continue to change the dynamics of the Republic and transition it to a socialized country. That puts the process at the hands of the Chinese, the Russians and the Arab world. All of which believe societal change is necessary in the USA. I believe this is understood by the DOD that we are actually in a atypical WWIII where it is not done by front lines, but by controlling the hearts and minds of the society. With the release of the Covid exercise, it began the psychological warfare games. It is a refinement of what the CIA has done in the past to other countries. All you have to do is step back and observe how not only the USA is being impacted, but countries around the world are being transitioned. The public in general hasn't a clue what is truly transpiring. My view.

Greetings from Michigan's Thumb Coast! Some things do change and improve. Yesterday, our outside thermometer read -9F (minis nine). And, felt like -17. Did not vent9ure out without donning my balaclava. Today, a knit cap suffices, as it is +9 F, a difference of 18 degrees. Change is constant, all around us. Sometimes, we ourselves institute change - in a recipe, in the garden and the way we plant seeds, plants, shrubs, and trees. Frequently, we change a route we run, walked, or driven for years - maybe it is faster or safer, or we just want a change of scenery. The sit9uation in MN will change - for the worse - or for the better, which I believe is the prayer sent above by those who believe in the power of prayer. What my part is in that mix I do NOT know. What I do know is that I look around my small piece of the world and wonder what I can do to make this just a little more pleasing to those of us who share the immediate space. Wash the windows to make the outside clearer to view? Host a meal or fun event and among those invited, at least one individual who is isolated or lives alone? At the supermarket, pause as I exit to pay a compliment to the "bagger?" Our eloquent friend James saw a space needing improvement and wrote a complimentary note - to his wife! Waves spread out from a small pebble! We each have the capability to change the way the game runs - with our collective thinking, creativity, imagination and derring-do, we are instruments for change - minute, perhaps but we can pack a wallop when we share our God-given spirits and talents! In abiding faith, Rath De Ort.
