Happy Mothers Day!!! Happy Mothers Day Jill!!! My upbeat message to you.

Although we’ve been having fairly mild winters, this past one, with these soaring energy costs, has certainly tried my patience and my bank account. The Springtimes warming temperatures are a welcome change.

True Patience is a very powerful tool that alludes many people. For years it seemed to pass me by. We’ve all known people that had shown us patience, and they probably stand out as someone that showed us kindness when we had done wrong.

Today whenever a stressful situation arises I try my best to take a deep breath and hold back escalating a situation. Flying off the handle always seems to cause me regret. I try to think back to those times when someone showed me patience and grace, gave me a break, or was the bigger person.

Patience is a form of faith. Maybe faith in someone we know, like a child that has got off coarse and we pray please God help to get them back on track. Or it could be a dream we have of someday meeting the right person to share our life with. It may seem like forever but with patience and faith, God never forgets our dreams. The enemy does everything he can to try to get us discouraged. The first place we loose the battle is in our own thinking. We should try our best to use our mind, be patient, it’s a tool we have. I don’t know about you but I’m going to die in faith. We should never give up on our dreams, our dreams will one day be fulfilled. The enemy comes immediately to steal that seed from our heart. We must have patience and know God is constantly working behind the scenes in our life.

I have a friend that was a Boston cop. He was married to a beautiful girl and they had two boys. Their marriage began to have problems and his wife strayed, they ended up getting divorced. As time went by he had a few relationships but none ever panned out. Eventually Dino had retired and it seemed he had given up on his dream of meeting someone to share his life with. He no longer would go out, and when we spoke he was sour and depressed. Years and years went by and I got word that his old high school sweetheart had reached out to him and they had gone out on a couple of dates. I spoke to him and he seemed really happy. The other night we were at a restaurant and by chance we ran into Dino and his new girl. I haven’t seen him so happy in forever. He had a constant smile on his face, he looked younger, he was upbeat, he was happy. After all these years of being alone Dino had finally got back together with the woman of his dreams. They spoke of going on trips together and sharing their lives with each other. Dino’s dream of sharing his life with someone had finally been fulfilled.

Even if we had given up on a dream we once had there’s always time to get your faith back. It doesn’t matter your age, you should never give up on your dreams. It’s never too late. I believe God is a faithful God, he is a God of completion. Hold fast onto your dreams God has put in your heart. As long as you stay in faith, as long as you still believe, all it takes is one breath of God and your dreams will be fulfilled. Happy Sunday, Happy Mothers Day, stay in faith! J.Goodrich

As I was putting away my paperwork, I saw the little “book” I wrote for my children in 2010—“Blessings of a Father.” It’s a real life story of how God redirected my life to move closer to my dad, during the last six years of his life. It was filled with laughter and tears, but in the end, God was honored.

One month before my dad passed away, he laid his hands on me and blessed me—a blessing that he intended for my posterity. He had written out specific blessings, and singed them that day, and for my children, I added other blessings.

I told my children to pursue the blessings, and live them out. While reading the “book,” I was reminded of my desire to proclaim the Gospel until the day I die—that is my life calling. Hopefully soon I will venture out into unknown waters, and do just that—pointing and calling people to Christ—not to religion, a church, or religious hoops and activities, but to a personal relationship with Jesus, the creator and savior of the world.

Never Give Up

Never Back Down

Never Lose Faith in Christ

Thank You both CQL and 53rd Chapter!! You all make me feel good about writing. Life is a struggle for me and I’m sure for many. I think these connections made make things more bearable and brings hope, at least that’s what I try to do, bring some hope.

You’re welcome, and you have indeed brought hope. One day soon I hope to start a Substack calling people to Christ—been thinking about that for a long time. If or when I do, I would love to have you post your writings. People need hope, but real and lasting hope, which is only found in Christ, and I see the application of Jesus’ teachings throughout your stories.

Remain free as an American and free in Christ. 🙂

Dearest James

I'm glad it worked put for Dino and his girl. Men that age can often find a wonderful love.

Occasionally, a few of the many, many women my age who are single, divorced, or widowed, find someone. The numbers are not good for us. But, I will always love my Lord Jesus Christ no matter what happens in my life.

I have a Great Pyrenees. He's a rescue who was abandoned to fend for himself. Probably treated badly before then. He's afraid of just about everything, so trips to Rural King are an adventure to say the least. But I love him dearly.

And he has those commands down exactly as you describe!!!

They would also apply to cats. Have noticed that abusers seem to always pick on the sweetest animals. Adopted a female lab terrified of males..took her a longtime to be comfortable with me and she was the most loving animal you could imagine.

It's the same with people, the abusers pick the sweetest people. Sadly, it is more difficult to rescue a person than an animal.

We also have a Great Pyrenees mix, Gustus, also a rescue, the last one of the litter that our daughter pulled out from under a house in a driving thunderstorm. He used to shake terribly during a storm, but has gotten much better now that we let him in at the first sign of thunder. His job in the house is to lie down, which he does do happily. He also doesn't catch food thrown to him, as does his lab buddy. But if you leave the gate open and aren't paying attention... And then, getting him back is done his way. Pulling him with a leash results in his 120 pounds going into sit mode, aka stubborn mode, aka stubborn sit mode...

We had a boxer who would shoot out an open front door like a rocket and was the devil to catch until we discovered all we had to do was go open the car door and he came on the fly. Absolutely loved car rides.

Similar approach works with Gus. Worst thing is to yell at him for getting out. Calling him like nothing is wrong works, because he does have a conscience, knows he's crossed the line, and is happy that he's not in trouble and can come back and hang out with his buddy, the black dog.

We don't have the problem with zooming, as you did. No, the gate can be open as long as he knows it's being monitored. But he's very aware. Lying down, pretending he's not paying attention. Then, if you get distracted, or forget and go inside, it's, "Hello, neighborhood."

HAPPY SUNDAY!

AND

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

After watching my wife carry and give birth to our children, at home, I understand the innate love a mother has for her children, and how they nurture them, even if she is not feeling well. When my children were sick, who did they want? Dad? Nope, mom! They needed her sick care, and nurturing care, blended with love, which would bring them through the sickness.

On this beautiful Sunday morning, remember God who gave us life through His son, and gave us mothers to nurture us and love us all of the days of their lives—a mother’s love never ends. As men, we love them and protect them, because they are made in the image of God—thank you God for gifting us with our mothers. ❤️🤗❤️

Happy Sunday and Happy Mother’s Day!

A very Happy Mother's Day! AS I enjoyed each piece, I had to bust out laughing at the Great Pyr

receiving their love.

Blessings to EVERYONE, and thank you all for the thoughtful comments.

I am still savoring my mothers day brunch, cooked by mostly my son and seeing my grandson after he returned from a 5 month stay in England. He had lots of pictures to share and stories of lots of hiking in Belgium, Spain, Amsterdam, Wales etc. This is a 19 year old who has conquered many emotional challenges, with more to go, no doubt. Give these kids a chance. I feel blessed.

I'm sure your grandson's tour was full of beautiful learning experiences and fruitful journeys. I remember my oldest telling us the Christmas right after he turned 19 he was going over to do a European tour. I was flabbergasted as he'd already bought the ticket. They can teach us much!! I too feel blessed!

Thanks, LB. What you may not know is that I have done battle with many judgements of people here (not everyone) when the horrific replies came rolling in about trans kids. The level of animosity was aimed at me too, and some of the replies were truly hateful. I have learned a lot from Dr. Malone's writings about the jaded side of the moneymakers and the harms to children, so I am not uneducated.

D D: you speak a truth. I have not walked in your shoes, but I try hard to not judge what shoes a person chooses or is given to walk in. I fail often. Becomes hard sometimes when many seem to pick shoes of anger, ridicule, cruelty, judgement, hate. contempt for their fellow man/woman. What's that story of the blind men touching the elephant. I would have wished for a meaningful dialogue with/for you if I had been privy to those diatribes. Those you battle/d lost so much more than they gain/ed.

I have a list on my fridge called "The Rules For Being Human". Maybe someday I will print it here. It's been up since my boys were born. 38 years now.
