I was taught about the "salami slice" approach of the regulatory system early in my career. "It's just a little slice, look how thin it is", they say, and tell you about how much safer everyone will be if you just let it go.

"Turn around after several years of this", my mentor said, "and you'll see all of your salami on their plate, and nothing left of your sausage".

It's a pain in the ass to fight them at every step, but it's the only way to survive for the long term.

It’s probable that many of us had a grandfather or uncle that fought in Europe just 80 years ago to free country after country from an expanding authoritarian oppressive government. I can just imagine the millions and millions of Europeans at that time that were overwhelmed with joy on liberation day, knowing the repressive Nazi regime had been defeated and that people’s liberties and freedoms were to be restored.

For me the sacrifice made to free the Europeans was much closer than even a grandfather, it was my father. I remember when I was 16 my parents took 2 of us 4 kids on a real vacation for the first and only time. We went on a cruise to Bermuda. I remember seeing the scars on my father’s back and where the bullet exited his chest. I had no idea he would only live another 4 years from that trip.

I’ve talked to my brother several times about how depressing it is to watch Europe fall to communism as we think of the sacrifice our father gave for them and so many other great Americans gave. For us it was just one generation ago. For my brother and I we watch with sadness, it’s extremely hard to accept what’s happening to Europe.

Durov knows. He was arrested in France, had his passport confiscated, and it wasn’t returned until they gave him backdoor access to his platform. Germany has the AfD fighting to change the destruction the greens and libtards have inflicted on her. I believe there’s a silent majority in the U.S. that won’t allow it to fail.

That's right. The Epstein "elites," and the UK officials prone to blaming the victims wrt grooming gangs, are super concerned about online child safety. Got it. I cannot even believe that Keir Starmer can say the things he says without his slacks bursting into flame.

I've been building a life raft for just this time. Please have a look at https://vettid.dev. This is how the average person can have a secure, private and trusted experience online. If you can't securely hold and use encryption keys online you will have no privacy or security. I've designed VettID so the average person doesn't need to know what a private key is yet they can successfully use them.

The technical preview is up and working (Android only right now) and I am looking for people to help me with the project. https://vettid.dev/help if you'd like to contribute.

Americans seem to have very little awareness that the threat from Islam is not just on their doorstep- it's halfway down the hall but is still hardly mentioned especially in the MSM, yet it's the main cause of Europe's problems, especially their loss of freedoms. The more obvious the issue becomes, the less the public are allowed to talk about it and those that do so in a remotely critical way, end up in jail.

Thank you for sharing this...Durov presents in a logical, calm, informative manner which can be understood by a person of any age.

To me this is extremely relevant and timely! The situation we are hearing about/seeing in GB is extremely threatening. As a result of the covid affairs we have learned of the extensive surveillance operatons that were developed and the impacts they occasioned. Imo those structures continue and with an imbodiment of AI and data centers being facilitated just in case suitable opportunity materializes.

The children. Certainly we are hearing about the needs to protect our children from pornography.

Of course we have the attacks on ice and conservative discussions (Kirk et al). We are experiencing instant teen gatherings to create havoc via the internet.

We might note the many iterations of AI and mushrooming localized data centers that are being developed

We do have Trump, JD and Rubio indicating support for our freedoms. Fingers in the dike, that this Nov. could well be wiped away.

I'm well aware my speculations may well be seen as unhinged. I hope I'm wrong. But too many things fit together for me to put my concerns aside.

To cap it all off, we have the apparent war going on between our government and the AI developers. Currently, as relates to constraining Anthropics deployment of Claud versions to selected customers abroad. Our Gov says no foreigners to touch Claud. Then it seems Claud's development team has foreigners. Other AI are grumbling. Want to bet about their staffing also includes foreigners?

Bottom line - Your warning here is timely! Needed! Vital! NEEDS ACTION! Be careful out there! You are needed and greatly appreciated!

Data mining is a fine art today. Thirty years ago it was in its infancy. We are all profiled and monitored and manipulated. If we become a threat to controllers they will begin to contain the threat. What a wonderful world!

Yes, I watched Pavel's talk on X and I root for him almost as much as I root for Elon. Bright, hopeful lights in Western culture. I wish invisible cones of security existed for all you freedom-loving speakers since "genius envy" is more and more rearing its ugly head. (Since I'm a bona fide copy editor, I'd like to point out that all verbs, including the little ones like "is" and "are," are always capitalized in titles.) Also note, the Sunday and Friday strips help my psychology and help keep me in touch with those friends and loved ones who would appreciate these funnies. 🙋‍♀️❤️

Your comment is a bright reminder that we have some great young geniuses on our side, and there is always hope. and...LOL. please don't read my comments I'm getting better with punctuation, etc. I never seem to catch all of my typos. (Just joking)

Excellent post. A related point...a. few weeks ago Malones had a cartoon that warned something like...don't let your fear of illegal immigrants turn into acceptance of digital id. I actually have seen a "nudge" on this...It was during Biden's term. It looked like a telenovela inwhich The young woman's boyfriend was getting his implant that day so she would have to wait for him to come over after that. It was like the illegal immigrants were being implanted with a digital id/locator until they could be processed. It may have been on a Spanish station or maybe it was a feature story on a US channel, but it seems like it was stated the video came from some sort of thinktank brainstorming/idea session on how to deal with documenting and keeping track of the people coming across.

Here in the US this indeed could be the first step. That's all I know about that, but hopefully with Trump, and his friend Elon, this wont happen.

Funny, earlier this week I changed my email associated with social media to my pup's name in attempt to have a bit more anonymity...is that even possible anymore . I've been intending on looking into VPN, better do that now. P.S I wish I knew more about Durov's plan or ideas on how to "fix it"
