I am convinced by now that media/government messaging has, over generations now, psychologically disarmed much of the population. This is the agenda of internal enemies. Fear can paralyze; I know this well from my youth. Some of the greatest, proudest moments in my life came when I finally learned to overcome such paralysis and successfully fight back.
The long march through the institutions is at an advanced stage. The same governments that threw open the gates to God-knows-how-many bad actors are prone to going after those who dare to protect themselves and those around them. Just ask Kyle Rittenhouse, Daniel Penny, or any of numerous others who, straying outside the narrow strictures of permissible self-defense, find themselves the targets of greater prosecutorial zeal than real criminals ever were.
In an era in which "misgendering" can prompt a visit from police; or leaving a tire mark on a rainbow crosswalk can prompt an arrest; we can't ignore them. They're at our doors.
Maybe insistence that the cross walks and streets are only to be marked by aids to traffic and pedestrians, not for political advertising distractions should help. As to misgendering. I am still waiting for proof there are more than 2 genders. The rest seems to be cosplay and mental illness.
That reminds me of when I was a child, and used to have recurring nightmares of being chased by a monster. I would attempt to fly to get away from him but couldn't get off the ground. Finally, one night before going to sleep I told myself that I can wake up if I want to. When the monster came, I said "This is only a dream, and I can wake up." I did, I never had those nightmares again, and after that I could fly really well in my dreams. We are witnessing what is called the Great Awakening. If we wake up to the truth, we don't need to be afraid of the monsters who might be trying to devour us.

I have had no conscious set of criteria for assessing threats. Often felt I was overdoing it. Having a structured approach will surely help.
