Understanding how voting is controlled in the Senate is a must read for all new Senators running for office. Over 50 are not going to run for re-election.

My food doc, my dermo doc and my primary physician all insist on having a copy of my driver's license. This also includes the SS office that wants a facial scan to compare to the driver's license. So do all the financial companies including my CPA. They don't want to be SCAMMED.

I guess scamming the voting system is a god given right in the eyes of the democrats.

They have stolen nearly every presidential election they won since and including 1960 so cheating pretty much their normal behavior.

JanC1955's avatar

If the left ever had a moral compass, they lost it decades ago and have wholeheartedly embraced lying, cheating, stealing and, of course, virtue signaling.

James Lord's avatar

Hysterical virtue signaling is the camouflage for all the other listed items.

Spot on, Thomas. I was just reminded why I can't use Vrbo or AirBnB, when deciding to try to book a few days of skiing, using AirBnB. Oh yeah, they Require that I upload my license! I wrote the owner via AirBnB, telling her, I refuse to do that and why. She replied kindly - she'd meet me at the area, to rent it to me.

Why are people uploading their license to these websites?! I never let anyone take a copy of my license. Not even the Daycare my son insists, Requires it. No, they don't! I said, NO, I will talk with them, and I was correct, they said aok.

My MO: Refuse, Push Back, Be aok with pain-in-the-neck work-arounds of their Increasing Controls of Us and NOT Them. Of course, also, I will never get a Real ID!

Meet me world = Mrs. Difficult.

She has a case manager now. and he went to her house.. and told her HUNDREDS of AMERICANS have been "so called kicked off.. MEDICAID roles.. and now have be put back in.. in the meantime. .though a couple hundred a month missing may be not much money to some people.. WHAT GIANT MESS... YES. I am well aware. I am will check out.... Here's to the Save act being passed.

Never fear when the Demtoids get back in power they will do away with both the silent and the talking filibuster. Then we get two new States (at least) and an infinite number of SCOTUS justices.

neli d's avatar

You are absolutely correct! don't let dems get back in power.i know we are tired of this but we gotta vote.

Steenroid's avatar

Yeah like a retarded pain in the ass.

We are always made promises by the republicans when the democrats have a majority. Well if and when you give us the house we’ll fix that. Well when you give us the senate we’ll fix that. Well when we win the presidency we’ll fix it all. The republicans have been given the house, the senate the presidency and they have the Supreme Court as the cherry on top and yet they squander their power again and again. Real change only comes from real leaders and John Thune is not that. Did you see the senate hearing the other day, the democrats are saying they are going to start putting Trumps entire administration behind bars just like they tried to do during Biden’s ti raid. If Thune blows this, and doesn’t fix this Brocken corrupt election system we will be right back to lawfare ten fold, Trump will be impeached again and again, and God only knows what kind of injection they will force on us the next time. Do away with the filibuster now while we can, you know for sure the democrats will.

Karen Parker's avatar

I think the problem is that there are SO MANY Republicans who are just as corrupt as the Dems that our only hope is to send as many CONSTITUTIONALISTS to Congress as possible.

NUKE THE FILIBUSTER NOW BEFORE THE DEMS DO!

REQUIRE VOTER ID NOW!

GET THIS DONE NOW!!!

Ken Paxton Takes Legal Action to Support Mary Talley Bowden and Defend Her Constitutional Rights

AUSTIN – Attorney General Ken Paxton has taken legal action to support Mary Talley Bowden, M.D., in her case against the Texas Medical Board (“TMB”).

In 2021, the family of a hospitalized first responder sought a court order directing Dr. Bowden, or a nurse under her supervision, to administer Ivermectin to the patient, who was on a ventilator and in a medically induced coma due to severe COVID-19 complications. A state district court granted the order. However, shortly before Dr. Bowden’s nurse was set to arrive at the hospital, an appeals court blocked the district court’s order. Dr. Bowden was not aware of this stay. Dr. Bowden continued efforts to prescribe Ivermectin, and when the nurse appeared at the hospital, hospital staff refused entry and law enforcement was called.

However, despite acting in good faith to provide medical care to a potentially dying patient at the request of the patient’s family—and while under the assumption that she was acting in full accordance with the law—the Texas Medical Board issued an administrative penalty and public reprimand of Dr. Bowden. Dr. Bowden has now sued the TMB to reverse the reprimand. Attorney General Paxton is not only declining to represent TMB in the case, but he has now filed an intervention in the case in support of Dr. Bowden. Further, Attorney General Paxton—in support of Mary Talley Bowden—is also declining to represent TMB in another case brought by Dr. Bowden.

“I will not stand by as Dr. Bowden has her Constitutional rights trampled and ability to serve her patients impeded with an illegal reprimand,” said Attorney General Paxton. “Dr. Bowden has been a champion for health freedom, selflessly served her patients, and acted in full accordance with the law. That’s why I’ve filed this intervention in support of Dr. Bowden and to ensure administrative agencies don’t violate the rights of licensed professionals in Texas.”

The intervention notes that TMB’s reprimand was done with no consideration of medical expert testimony, ignored the fact that Dr. Bowden was acting in reliance upon both a court order and advice of counsel, and ignored due process during the hearing on the reprimand.

The only segment of the American population who apparently object to the SAVE Act are Elected Democrats currently on Office. I find it really interesting that they do not seem to give a wit about what their Constituents, you know the people they actually represent, want. But they do care fervently about getting illegal votes where ever they can.

Ernie's avatar

I thought Senator Thune was going to enact the standing filibuster last week sometime? He did say I think last night that he doesn’t have the Republican votes to eliminate the filibuster proper. So the standing filibuster is our only option. Gitr’dun!

List is incomplete

Mexico national ID (actually called voter card INE) only to citizens

I know an expat who lives in Dominican Republic. Back of his ID says NO VOTA (not a citizen)

#1 deporting 20MM illegals. #2 pass the SAVE act into law. Without these 2 items every good thing that happens with MAHA and so much more good is only temporary. Without election integrity, solving all these crises is like herding cats.

James Schwartz's avatar

The filibuster needs to go the way of the DoDo. It’s an archaic law and what little time there is left in Trump’s term (should the mid-terms not go his way) many laws could be passed that would keep the Dems busy for a year before they get to screwing up the country when they regain majority. Majority is how things work and if it’s one or ten that means it passes. Too much is at stake to be paralyzed with a majority congress. Heck, there are still positions not confirmed in the administration for gods sake! If majority is what republicans are worried about then make sure you’ve got the ideas and work for the people and you’ll stay in power.

And repeal the 17th amendment

Nadia Nichols's avatar

Frankly I cannot imagine any US citizen objecting to allowing only US citizens to vote in our country's elections. It's an absolute disgrace that only one Dem in the house voted for the Save Act and the Dem senators are probably going to behave equally disgracefully. They are an embarrassment to all Americans and should all be thrown out.

MadChimp's avatar

This can not work. The Constitution was written when men believed (rightly so) that State Government had integrity - - much more so than Federal Government - - and were much more likely to preserve election integrity. And so, policing virtually all regulations related to elections of Federal officials were granted to the States. These 'lawsuits' and wishful thinking 'fixes' simply can not work - - DRIVERS LICENSES for voter registration??: Bah!

GA, AZ, CA, MI, and others have proven why ' - - the right to alter or abolish' the Constitution is a necessary part of that very document. Unless and until an amendment is passed granting Federal regulatory authority to insure only US Citizens vote, US Federal elections will be in jeopardy.

All votes in person, ID requited, all votes required on voting day, and tabulated as they are made.

Stop the Steal! Just plain STOP it. If there is one issue on which Republicans AND Democrat citizens agree, it is on the issue of honest elections. The time was never better (nor more urgently needed) for tamper-proof elections, and 3/4 of States approval, to once and for all get honest elections. Get the issue OUT of Congress, and IN the hands of the PEOPLE! Stop corruption in its' tracks!

Jean's avatar

Thank you for bringing up this topic! It is indeed aggravating that this copout strategy persists.

For starters, imo the legislation makes sense and is clearly needed. It's passed the House. It stands ready for Senate action.

Thune, with his mentor McConnell, stand reaponsible for action on this legislative effort.

So what would make a difference? The President surely. But what about the citizenry?

Are any of the current Dem incumbents being primaried? What are state vulnerabilities, if any? Can current Republican senate candidates include the issue in their campaigns? In other words are there any vulnerabilities that can be exploited? Can state voters impact on Republican Senate members and/or candidates? If opportunities exist - assure local voters are aware and pursuing them.

It should be an all hands on deck effort. (Plus a Plan B intense oversight?)

Only passed in the House by 7(?) votes. Single dem voted for it...an Hispanic Texan!

The SAVE America Act Won't Pass the Senate

Unless Senate leadership gets very serious

Sarah Jett's avatar

Greetings from the Thumb Coast of Michigan! Dr. Malone, you have given us a great gift. a map. I propose to write the Senators who represent the Great Lakes State. That's the initial effort! My letter will include 1) that I am watching the Senators' actions as they consider and vote on this bull. In that vein, I shall inform each as well that according to the capability of my body, mind, and wallet I will work for or against an incumbent or a "newbie," not according to political affiliation, but according to their vote on this bill: for, they receive my vote; against, my vote is missing. I care not if all other bills have received their vote in the affirmative. This is probably the most important bill to come before the Senate in my lifetime. I have voted in every national election since 1956 and have voted in at precincts in California, Washinton State, Virginia, Florida, Connecticut. and Michigan in person (and showed both a driver's license and a military identification) and absentee in South Carolina. It is now routine to show one's driver's license or state identification to secure services at medical and dental offices! Why not be willing and proud to display a legal form of identification when entering one's voting precinct to cast one's ballot!

One is never too old to take up the pen - or, in my case - use the computer to make known one's wishes and intentions to those who will vote. My question to each: Are you voting your party line for sinecure and power, or in your heart of hearts, do you believe the vote you cast is in the best interests of the United States of America and its citizenry?
